Zoya Neely + Misa Fountain of Youth

Hello readers!

I have a super pretty layering combo to show you today. I am so in love with how it turned out. This is 1 coat over Fountain of Youth from Misa over Zoya Neely. The shimmer from Fountain of Youth is to die for!

Love it! I want a polish like this in every color! This mani is actually the base to some crazy (for me) nail art which I will hopefully be showing you tomorrow.

Tell me your favorite polishes with similar finishes to Fountain of Youth!

China Glaze Sun of a Peach + Skittles Nail Art

Good evening!

I have a Pinterest inspired mani to show you today. I'm sure you have all seen the pin I'm replicating or something really similar. My base is China Glaze Sun of a Peach. All of my fingers but the ring are stamped in white and the glitter on my ring is OPI Servin' Up Sparkle and China Glaze Glistening Snow. My thumb is Glistening Snow as well.

I love skittles nails. It gives an excuse to use lots of different techniques and colors all in one mani!

MeLissa Lacquer Swatches and Review

*press sample*

Hello polish lovers!

I am happy to have another indie review to share with you today. This time from MeLissa Lacquer. This is my second time working with the brand and I really like what I got to try this time around, so let's take a look!

This is Viral Video. The glitter in this is pretty sparse but I ended up liking the end result a lot even though it took a little extra effort to apply. This is about 2 coats over a Born Pretty Sweet Color polish. Very fun glitter combo!

This is Social Media. I did one coat over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White Out. This has quite the variety of glitters in it and they all work together really well. I like the girly vibe Social Media gives off too.

QR Code is a versatile black and white top coat which are my favorite kind simply for their versatility. I layered one coat and placed a few extra glitters over Kleancolor Pastel Pink. I think the microbars are what really ties this topper together.

Next up, is Repeat the Past. This is one coat over Milani Purple Martin. Very fun combo! I don't normally go for shredded glitter but these are perfectly proportioned with the rest of the glitters to be just the right accent. I can see this polish being perfect for the winter season as well.

And finally, this is NY on a Summer Afternoon. I haven't been to New York but I can definitely see how this name fits the polish. Lots going on, really colorful and it all works to make a pretty awesome glitter topper! This is one coat over Milani Peacock.

Overall, I really liked all of the polishes that I was sent to review for different reasons and was surprised  by a few that I wouldn't think would be a favorite. I think Melissa does a good job of making polishes that can stand out in this saturated indie polish world.

Milani's Retro Glam Limited Edition Collection Swatches

*press sample*

Hello!

I posted about a limited edition collection from Milani (Fantastical Plumage) a couple days ago and today I have the Retro Glam collection to show you which is another limited edition collection. This one is my favorite because of the colors included. Let's take a look!

This is Almond Bliss. I definitely don't have anything else like it in my collection...very pretty shade. 2 coats.

Sprinkles is the top coat that complements each polish in the Retro Glam collection. You can't go wrong with this combo over just about any color!

This is Creamy Pistachio. 2 coats.

Sprinkles over Creamy Pistachio.

Strawberry Shake has a very slight silver shimmer that is noticeable in the bottle but not on the nail. 2 coats.

Sprinkles over Strawberry Shake.

Mint Chip. 2 coats.

Sprinkles over Mint Chip.

Raspberry Delight in 2 coats.

Sprinkles over Raspberry Delight.

I had no problems with application with any of these polishes. As with the Fantastical Plumage collection, these cremes are really well formulated and would make a great addition to any collection simply for ease of use. The glitter topcoat was loaded with glitter and only needed one coat to cover. It got a little thicker the more I used it which is pretty normal as well.

Tell me your favorites from the Retro Glam collection!

Milani's Limited Edition Fantastical Plumage Collection Swatches/Review

*press sample*

Good morning!

I have some lovely creme polishes as well as a glitter topcoat from Milani to share with you guys today. These polishes make up the limited edition Fantastical Plumage collection. There's lots of pictures so I'll keep it short on words. My thoughts will be at the end of the post. ;)

Peacock in 2 coats.

Peacock topped with Carnival.

Canary in 3 coats.

Purple Martin in 2 coats.

Scarlet Ibis in 2 coats.

Blue Jay in 2 coats.

My thoughts: The cremes are all fantastic...great formula, super easy to use. I think these are a great addition to any collection and perfect for nail art. If you are looking for fuss free cremes, I definitely recommend them! The glitter topper takes some work to place since the gitters are so big and the formula is a bit sparse. But to get the effect, it's worth the extra effort and there are defintely worse glitter toppers out there!

Tell me your favorites and stay tuned for Milani's second limited edition collection tomorrow!

Nail Art Supply Storage Container

*press sample*

Hi guys!

Today's post is a little different but still totally nail related, promise! While picking items to review from Born Pretty Store, I came across a variety of nail art supply storage options. Since my current storage option was dropping everything in a drawer, I figured it wouldn't hurt to organize things a little better. ;) So, I was able to make the below embellishments go from this pile...

...into this nifty little container! It's not much bigger than a DVD box (a bit thicker) so it stores easily. All the containers are connected...one container's bottom serves as a lid for the container below it.

And this is how my container looks all filled up! I could probably go for another one because I still had some leftover supplies, but I love how easy it is to see everything and access it mess free. Another plus is that my 2 1/2 year old can't open the case! haha

So obviously this is a great option for all those embellishments we collect over time. Doing this motivated me to find other little organizing options for things like nail art pens and nail decals...basically anything to make my supplies look neater and more accessible! I hope to have more ideas like this to share with you in the future!

Would you use this storage option for your supplies?

Fanchromatic Nails Swatches and Review

*press sample*

Hi everyone!

I have an indie review today! It's been a while since I have done one and I missed it!

The polishes I am showing you today come from Fanchromatic Nails. This was my first experience with this brand. Check out the cute labels!

First is The Man in the Moon. I layered to coats over Essie Marshmallow. This has a pretty shimmer in the base. I love how delicate this looks!

Next is Are You Shy? This has a sheer pinky purple base that would take on a different appearance depending on what you layered it over. I chose OPI Pink Friday and did 2 coats of Are You Shy? Check out the awesome gold flake/shimmer this has!

This is Between Two Worlds. This has a dusty purple sheer crelly base that layered perfectly over Dr.'s Remedy Lively Lilac in 2 coats.

And finally, we have Broken Holo Theory. I layered one easy coat over a Milani black creme. This was the surprise favorite of mine. The best part is that the shards laid flat on my nails! There is a perfect balance of glitters so they don't totally take over. This one is super pretty in the sun too!

How many of you have heard of Fanchromatic Nails before? Any faves from what I have shown you today?

You can find Fanchromatic Nails on Etsy *here*. You should also like their Facebook page as well!
