China Glaze Don't Be a Luna-tic + Some Housekeeping

Hi!

I have some swatch pics of Don't Be a Luna-tic from the recent China Glaze Hologram collection to show you today. Since I own the OMG collection, this is the only one I picked up but I could go for a few more after trying this one out! In the bottle, these don't look like much. Even on the nail swatches on the display they didn't look very interesting. Once on the nail, however, it comes alive!

This is what Don't Be a Luna-tic looks like most of the time. A metallic-y finish with a visible rainbow. This photo doesn't fully capture that.

In direct sunlight, or when hit with the camera flash, check out what happens!

I enjoyed wearing this more than I thought I would...can't go wrong with a good holo!

Ok so I wanted to remind you guys of 2 things:

1) My giveaway of Shimmer Polish Kim ends in 2 days! You can enter *here* if you haven't already.

2) I posted about this last night, but just in case you missed it, I updated prices and added new items to my blog sale! There are a bunch of polish and makeup items available. Check it out *here*.

Have a good day!

A Holo Half Moon

I found the LA Girl 3D Effects holos at Rite Aid a while back and picked up a few. Even if these aren't linear in finish, I love 'em anyway! The collection dupes last year's holiday Zoya holos (Aurora, Storm, Blaze). In fact, there are dupes for those 3 in the LA Girl collection, plus more!

This half moon mani is done using China Glaze Sexagon and LA Girl Brilliant Blue.

I love how this turned out! I wore this for maybe 4 days and had no wear, which is worth mentioning since holos can sometimes chip quickly.

Are you eyeing any of the LA Girl 3D Effects? At half the price of Zoya, they are definitely worth it!

More Shimmer Polish Swatches!

Hi everyone!

Another week has begun whether we are ready or not! I'm kicking mine off with more Shimmer polish swatches. ;) There's lots of pics, so I will keep it short on words.

First, we have Jovie. I layered one coat over Banana Republic French Navy. This is a very versatile topper with sweet color shifting iridescent glitter!

Next is Katie. I layered one coat over China Glaze Elephant Walk. Very cute and girly.

And finally, we have Vivian. One coat over Sally Hansen Insta Dri Speedy Sunburst. This makes my nails look like they are coated with sugar!

Any faves from this bunch?

More Shimmer to come this week!

I have reviewed a bunch of other Shimmer in the past and you can see them all *here* in previous posts.
You can visit Shimmer's Etsy shop *here* and on their blog *here* and like them on Facebook *here*!

And guys! Shimmer's Facebook page is only 10 likes away from a 20% off sale! Spread the word!

My Birthday Nails: A Dotticure!

Good morning!

Today is my birthday and I did some simple but fun nail art to celebrate. I chose to use my 2 favorite colors in various shades (mint and pink) for the dots. I used China Glaze Hang Ten-toes, LCN I Love Mint, Sation Plenty of Frogs, and OPI PInk Friday. On top of a simple white base there is one coat of It's All About the Glam from NOPI's Kardashian collection to add a little shimmer. These are such fun nails, perfect for a birthday!

Today is going to be mostly low key, but my husband and I have planned a quick trip to Atlanta next weekend to do a little birthday shopping and get a break from life. I am SO excited!

Sweet Tips Nails Swatches and Review

Hello!
I am back with an indie review that is long over due. Jen from Sweet Tips Nails was kind enough to send me a few things from her shop to show you!

First though, I wanted to touch on the cuticle oil. I really love getting to try bath and body related products from indie shops because they usually smell amazing and come in scents you wouldn't find in a store, plus they are awesome quality products!

I wasn't let down with this oil, which came in the scent Pear Preserves. Before I smelled it, I thought what a strange scent to make into a cuticle oil! But after smelling it I was so surprised...the scent totally brings me back to my childhood in the 90s. Jen's Pear Preserves cuticle oil smells just like those roller ball lip glosses that you could get at the dollar store. They would make a huge mess from leaking eventually, but I felt so cool having my own lipgloss! Someone please tell me you know what I'm talking about! haha I love to open the bottle and smell it just because it's so fun to smell my childhood again. :)

Ok that was a lot of words so I will keep it simple on the polishes so you don't get bored:

This is 24 Carrots. I layered one easy coat over China Glaze Peachy Keen. I tend to prefer cool toned polishes, but I really liked this fun springy combo more than I expected.

Next up is Dazzle Me. Another one that surprised me in terms of how much I really loved it rather than just liked it. I layered one coat over China Glaze Pretty in Platinum. There is a gorgeous shimmer in this that really makes it sparkle, plus the larger silver holo glitters are a perfect accent. A very delicate polish!

And finally, this is Gooey Cream Egg. This one has these rectangular glitters that definitely make it unique. I layered one coat over Dr.'s Remedy Hopeful Hot Pink. Very bright and happy!

Sweet Tips Nails is a newer brand out there and I think that Jen has done an awesome job putting her shop together as well as making her products stand apart from other shops. Besides polish, she has some polish jewelry items, cuticle oils, and lip balms. Everything looks so cute!

Pastel Skittles + D&R Apothecary Lotsa Dotsa

Halfway through the week! That's an accomplishment in my book. :)

Today's mani is a colorful one. I did a pastel skittles look that just screams spring (I am so over winter already!).

Polishes used: China Glaze Peachy Keen, Kleancolor Pastel Yellow, Coastal Scents Lilypad, and Kleancolor Pastel Blue. I used OPI Pink Friday on my thumb, which didn't make it into these pics unfortunately.

When I do a skittles look, sometimes I like to tie it all together with a glitter topper on all the fingers. This time I used Lotsa Dotsa from D&R Apothecary. This is such a fun glitter!

Are you guys dying for springtime yet?

OPI Can't Let Go + China Glaze Elephant Walk

Hi polish lovers!

I hope everyone had a great weekend.

I got the mini set of the OPI Mariah Carey Liquid Sands for my anniversary a while back and the first one I decided to wear was Can't Let Go. I was really surprised at how much I loved the finish of the liquid sand...and it seems like this trend is only getting started (can't wait to get my hands on all the Zoyas)! I did an accent nail with striping tape and China Glaze Elephant Walk. I wish I would have had the patience to do all my nails like that because it's so cute!

What are you guys thinking about all the sand-type finish polishes coming out?

China Glaze Creative Fantasy + D&R Apothecary Pop-Up Video

Hello!

Just a quick mani post today. This is Creative Fantasy from China Glaze with D&R Apothcary's (previously Hit Polish) Pop-Up Video on top. My pic is a bit blurry on the nails, but I thought this combo was too pretty not to share!

Thank you for reading!

All That Glitters Bitter Hearts Swatches

Hello!

It's been super windy and cold today...pretty nasty weather. I have some bright, glittery indies to share with you that have definitely been a bright spot in this gross day. :) They come from All That Glitters, which is one of the very first shops I purchased from last year when indies were just starting to catch on! Kirsten made an awesome collection for Valentine's day with 12 polishes. Even though Valentine's has already passed, these polishes are appropriate for any time of year. I have 6 of them to show you here, so let's get started!

This is Just Lust. This is 2 coats over China Glaze Beach Cruise-r which is a perfect match for the sheer pink base this has. I am a little reminded of OPI I Lily Love You by this.

Next is Not 2Nite. I love this one! This is pretty sheer...I did 4 coats alone. But I like the overall effect. You can totally layer this for a more opaque look too. All the glitters came out nicely....no fishing.

I Luv Me...I was pretty impressed by this one's formula. Most milky glitters take a bit to build full coverage and I almost had it in one coat! Not to mention this polish is super pretty.

Outta Here is a cool one. It's got tiny matte glitters beside the black and white combo. This is one coat over China Glaze Beach Cruise-r again. This polish would definitely benefit from a layer of topcoat to smooth everything out.

Dream On is a peachy pink nude base with charcoal and gold holo glitters in it. This one is sheer as well, but if you are going for a more low key look, it's perfect. I like the mix of something fun in an otherwise simple polish that's not too over the top.

And finally, Heart Burn. I did 3 coats on it's own. You probably see the hearts in the bottle...I tried really hard to get some out and it just wasn't happening. Regardless, I like what did come out of the bottle and onto my nails! haha

And that's it! I really loved all of these polishes for different reasons and think they are definitely worth checking out, even if Valentine's Day is over. :)

China Glaze It's A Trap-eze Layering + Where I've Been!!

Hello awesome readers!

I'm sure some of you have noticed my posting has been...well...not happening lately. I will explain why in a second but let's get to the nails first!

This is a mani I wore forever ago...last year! I had broken my pinky nail which is totally messing with the overall look here but I loved what I had put together enough to show you anyway. haha This is 1 coat of China Glaze It's a Trap-eze over Coastal Scents Lilypad, which is a minty color. It's a Trap-eze is good for layering as much as it is to wear on it's own and I love that! It made my mint creme more milky looking...I am obsessed with this combo!

Ok, so why I haven't been around...I am expecting baby #2! It still feels really weird saying that...I am 10 weeks along but it doesn't feel real. Even though I have been super nauseous and tired which made swatching and blogging more of a chore than a fun hobby. :( Luckily, the nausea has worn off over the past few days making it much easier to function. So, I am looking forward to getting back in the swing of things and I have tons to show you.

Thank you all for sticking with me and being such supportive readers! You guys are what make this blog so much fun for me. :)

Shimmer Polish Recent Releases Swatches and Review

Hi readers!

Today I've got some newer polishes from Shimmer Polish to share with you. I have reviewed lots of Shimmer in the past and you can view those posts *here*. For reference, I did one coat of all of these and the formula as always is great. I love how one coat gives the perfect amount of coverage.

Sarah is pretty fabulous. Probably because blue and purple glitters are my favorite. ;) I layered this over China Glaze Aquadelic. Such a pretty combo!

Adrienne is mostly about blue and gold glitters. I thought it would really pop over Kleancolor Pastel Blue and I was not disappointed with the outcome! Love it.

Karen is made up of mostly fine/small glitters which makes this easy to still do stamping or other nail art over. I layered this over Sweet Polish from Born Pretty Store.

Liana has a bit of a dark tinted base...it's really not noticeable over darker colors but I first tried this over a white creme and it wasn't looking so cute. haha So I tried it over China Glaze Elephant Walk. Much better!

And finally, Wendy. This one is pretty awesome! I think the combo of glitters are perfect together and I really love how it looks over Zoya Monica.

Tell me your favorites!

Kawaii Nail Lacquer Swatches and Review

Hey guys!

It's Friday, finally! And the sun is finally out after an entire week of clouds...very refreshing.

I have some swatches from Kawaii Nail Lacquer to share with you today. This is my first experience with this brand, but I have worked with Jamie (the owner) before and she is super sweet.  For reference, the formula for all of these were great!

First is Tequila Rose. This is 2 coats over China Glaze Make Some Noise. Love the slight jelly look this has!

This is Salad Daze. I did one coat over Orly Fresh. Another coat would have given it a more milky look, but either way I think this one is super fun!

Next is Pink Blizzard. Love the name! I layered one coat over Sally Hansen Insta Dri Grape Escape. This one could go over tons of colors and look great.

And finally is Blow My Dress Up. I was really drawn to the combo of glitters in this one. Here is one coat over CND Asphalt.  Look at the cute little tiny bars in there!

Do you own any Kawaii Nail Lacquer? What are your favorites from the ones I showed you today?

Kawaii Nail Lacquer can be purchased on Esty *here*. Be sure to follow their Facebook page as well! There is usually some kind of coupon code floating around. ;)
