Salon Perfect Shocked

Since it went from pleasant fall weather yesterday to very cold and winter- like today, I'm trying to stay warm with a super bright, more summer appropriate mani. A big cup of hot chocolate is helping too. ;)

The Walmart exclusive Salon Perfect line created quite a stir when they released a line of neon matte glitters all in the same vein as the now classic Floam. This is Shocked, the pink and blue version. The formula was quite thick and I made the mistake of choosing an even thicker base of Color Club Yum Gum. It ended up being a fail mani that didn't last long but somehow I think my pictures turned out decent!

One of my favorite parts of summer is wearing neon nail colors. But I have too many fall and winter shades piling up in my untrieds that need some love now!

Salon Perfect Exploded- Summer Vaca Nails!

Good morning!

I have been so busy with review posts this past month that I am still catching up on my personal manicures. Today I am showing you a mani I wore for the vacation I took with my family to Hilton Head Island , SC back in June. I loved the bright neons and the accent nail turned out so cute. Perfect for the beach!

I layered 1 coat of Salon Perfect Exploded over a white creme. The accent nail is Color Club Wham! Pow!,  China Glaze Hang Ten Toes and Sunkissed all swirled together with an adorable pufferfish stamp from the Cheeky Summer 2013 plate collection.

These aren't my normal pics or lighting since I took these after I had already left for my trip, but I think you get the idea!

I still have a handful of summer polishes to use before the season is over...crazy to think fall is practically around the corner!

Shimmer Polish Swatches-Last Batch!

Hello everyone!

It's been a busy past few days and I am happy to be back to posting today. As you know, I have been showing swatches of lots of Shimmer Polish lately. Today, I have the final batch from the ones I sent to review!

Irene is a mostly champagne glitter with a rainbow of other glitters spread through out. This is 2 coats over OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?

Next is Tammy. For some reason, I had the hardest time capturing this one! I did one coat over Color Club High Society.

This is Julie. One coat over Orly Frolic. This is a rainbow mix of glitters with a predominant purple throughout.

Not to be confused with Julie, this is Julia. This reminds me of Cinderella's blue dress and glass slippers. I layered one coat over Zoya Natty. Such a pretty polish!

And finally, we have Candace. This is one coat over CND Asphalt which is a dark gray creme. This reminds me of bumblebees (or as my 2 1/2 year old says, "bungle - bees").

Tell me your faves from this bunch!

I have reviewed a bunch of other Shimmer in the past and you can see them all *here* in previous posts.
You can visit Shimmer's Etsy shop *here* and on their blog *here* and like them on Facebook *here*!

Stay tuned for a little surprise later today! ;)

Color Club Fashion Addict Swatch

Hey everyone!

I am showing a polish that I bought when I first started collecting a few years ago and haven't really given much credit to.

Remember when the OMG collection was ever elusive and everyone wanted to get their hands on a linear holo? Now there are lots of options available, but back then I discovered and decided to try out Color Club Fashion Addict because it didn't cost an arm and a leg. Googling swatches led me to believe that it was a super linear holo. But once I got my bottle from Head2Toe Beauty I realized there was another version out there made with less holo pigment. I was pretty disappointed and didn't give my bottle a chance to really wear it.

Fast forward almost 3 years and I finally gave Fashion Addict another chance! Since the linear holo craze died down, I was able to branch out and give other types of holos a try, leading me to appreciate and love so many other kinds out there! Even though this version of Fashion Addict isn't super strong, I still really love it for what it does offer. Check it out!

Super pretty right?!

Do you have polishes that you gave a second chance and realized you loved it?

Also, I wanted to remind you to check out my blog sale if you haven't already! There are so many pretty polishes still available that need good homes! :) You can view it *here*.

Sweet Tips Nails Swatches and Review

Hello!
I am back with an indie review that is long over due. Jen from Sweet Tips Nails was kind enough to send me a few things from her shop to show you!

First though, I wanted to touch on the cuticle oil. I really love getting to try bath and body related products from indie shops because they usually smell amazing and come in scents you wouldn't find in a store, plus they are awesome quality products!

I wasn't let down with this oil, which came in the scent Pear Preserves. Before I smelled it, I thought what a strange scent to make into a cuticle oil! But after smelling it I was so surprised...the scent totally brings me back to my childhood in the 90s. Jen's Pear Preserves cuticle oil smells just like those roller ball lip glosses that you could get at the dollar store. They would make a huge mess from leaking eventually, but I felt so cool having my own lipgloss! Someone please tell me you know what I'm talking about! haha I love to open the bottle and smell it just because it's so fun to smell my childhood again. :)

Ok that was a lot of words so I will keep it simple on the polishes so you don't get bored:

This is 24 Carrots. I layered one easy coat over China Glaze Peachy Keen. I tend to prefer cool toned polishes, but I really liked this fun springy combo more than I expected.

Next up is Dazzle Me. Another one that surprised me in terms of how much I really loved it rather than just liked it. I layered one coat over China Glaze Pretty in Platinum. There is a gorgeous shimmer in this that really makes it sparkle, plus the larger silver holo glitters are a perfect accent. A very delicate polish!

And finally, this is Gooey Cream Egg. This one has these rectangular glitters that definitely make it unique. I layered one coat over Dr.'s Remedy Hopeful Hot Pink. Very bright and happy!

Sweet Tips Nails is a newer brand out there and I think that Jen has done an awesome job putting her shop together as well as making her products stand apart from other shops. Besides polish, she has some polish jewelry items, cuticle oils, and lip balms. Everything looks so cute!

Visit the Sweet Tips Nails Etsy shop *here* and be sure to like the Facebook page as well to stay updated!

Selections from KBShimmer's Spring Collection

Good morning!

I have swatches from a much loved indie brand to show you today. They come from KB Shimmer's upcoming spring line!

This is A Dot Mess. I layered one coat over Color Club Pretty in Platinum. A surprise favorite of mine!

Spring Training is an automatic fave of mine. Can you guess why? Because of the lovely minty base! Mint is my weakness...love it. This is 4 coats with no underwear.

And finally, this is Where My Peeps At. This is such a fun one! The epitome of spring, I think. This is 4 coats with no underwear. Most yellow polishes are sort of difficult to apply evenly but this was no different than any other polish. Definite plus!

This is only a portion of the collection and if you are loving these then head over to the KBShimmer Facebook page to see swatches of the others done by other bloggers!

This collection is set to be out on February 15th on KBShimmer's website or at Harlow and Co. at a later date.

Tell me your thoughts on these new KBShimmers!

Darling Diva Polish Swatches and Review

Hello everybody!

I'm starting to see spring collections pop up all over the place between the indie world and big brands. I have to say it's refreshing to see all the bright, happy colors! Today I am showing you some spring themed polish from Darling Diva. I have always loved this shop and love seeing what Carrie comes up with next.

 Look how bright and colorful!

First is Bonnie Lassie. I layered one coat over Orly Fresh. Perfect for St. Patrick's Day, right? This could have benefited from a layer of topcoat to smooth things out a bit but that's probably a given with any polish. ;)

This is Zoey Jane. According to the product listing for this, it's a reformulated version from the original. I layered one coat over Color Club Fashion Addict (the less holo version). I should have done a different color to help the glitters pop a little more. But anyway, this was so full of glitter I was actually putting some back in the bottle before painting my nail! Which, it's normally the other way around with glitter...too sparse in one coat. I have noticed this in a few indies I have tried in the past and it's nice to see one that doesn't skimp out on the glitter!

And finally, the surprise stunner for me, Anna. When I first opened the promo package Carrie sent I thought, "A blue holo glitter...pretty, but not very exciting." HA I was SO wrong! Once I had it all painted on my nails I was loving how gorgeous this was! I couldn't stop looking at it! I did 4 coats with no underwear...but the formula was awesome enough that I could pull that off without hating my life. The cool thing about Anna is that you can easily use this as a 1 coat topper as well. Love the versatility...I need a version of this in every color, I think. ;)

Tell me which ones you are loving!

These polishes are available now, in Darling Diva's Etsy shop. Make sure to follow the Darling Diva Facebook page too, for extra perks! :)

Red Dog Designs Swatches

Hey everyone!

Hope you are all having an awesome day today. If not, maybe some eye candy from Red Dog Designs will brighten your day! They are pretty amazing. Let's take a look!

Be Careful, It's My Heart is a mixture of blue, gold and some silver glitters. I layered one coat over Color Club Worth the Risque. Super pretty!

I Love Paris is a unique mixture of glitters in a clear base. I layered one coat over Zoya Breezi. This one is a favorite, I think. Also, please excuse the huge glitter on the skin of my pinky....I'm not sure  how I missed that through clean-up and photos...oops.

And finally, we have Young At Heart. As soon as I saw this one in the bottle, I knew I would love it and I was not disappointed! I layered one coat over Zoya Ali. The colors in Young At Heart are my favorites so seeing them all together just made me happy. :)

This was my first time using polish from Red Dog Designs and I really enjoyed it...the polishes look great in pics but once you see them in person they are even better! All of the polishes had a great formula and the hearts weren't that hard to maneuver in place.

There are 6 more polishes in this collection and you can see more swatches on the Red Dog Designs Facebook page! This upcoming collection, called Ol' Blue Eyes is going to be available Friday January 25 @ 9pm EST in the shop, *here*. You don't want to miss out on these!

Holiday Mani Wrap Up: Snowflakes

Happy Saturday!

This is my 500th post! That's quite the milestone, I think! :D

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. We got snow today! Not a lot, just enough to dust the ground...but it's pretty anyway. :)

I am showing you the last of the holiday manis I wore this past week. I actually wore this one for Christmas Day. Dustin got me Butter London Scuppered as an early present (my first BL!) so that was the base for this mani. Hit Polish Noel went unexpectedly well with Scuppered, so I used that as an accent. Dustin stamped on the snowflakes and the rhinestones just tie it all together so well!

I also wanted to share a mani done by Dustin for my sister! He stamped snowflakes using some Color Club metallics and used Jordana Lunar Lights to add to the effect. I really love how this looks! I love that my husband knows how to make cute nail designs and execute them perfectly. :)

What do you think of these manis?

All That Glitters Holiday, Celebrate Collection Swatches and Review!

It's FRIDAY! Hallelujah! I am getting my hair cut and colored today and I am so ready for some me time AKA a break from my crazy 2 year old!!

I've got a fun bunch of polish to show you all today. All That Glitters has created a fantastic holiday collection called Holiday, Celebrate! There's 9 polishes and I have them all to show you today:

First, is Goody Gumdrops. I layered one coat over Zoya Areej. The glitters spread very easily and look so good together.

Autumn Bomb is exactly what it sounds like! I layered one coat over China Glaze Trendsetter.

Next, is Lights in the Night. One easy coat over China Glaze Ride the Waves. I placed the stars but they came out of the bottle without too much effort. This has a fine shimmer in the base...very pretty.

Spottie Dottie Holiday is one of my faves. All That Glitters has a few different versions of Spottie Dotties and the combo of bar and hex glitters can't be beat! Definitely my favorite type of glitter. The bars were a little curly but I was able to lay them flat without any issues. I layered one coat over Essie Penny Talk.

I love this next one! Eggnog Wasted just makes me happy. I layered one super easy coat over Color Club Pretty in Platinum.

Cool Yule is perfect for the winter season. I layered one coat over Sally Hansen Insta Dri
Blue Me Away.

What the Elf? is a funky one (in a good way!). I layered one coat over Zoya Monica.

Pinch of Grinch is pretty awesome. It's got a pearly base with sort of a blue flash. I layered one coat over China Glaze Holly Day to try and bring that out but my pics aren't really showing it. I was really impressed with the formula of this one because I didn't have to try and place the stars... they came out on their own! That's a first. :)

And finally, we have Killer Icicle! I layered one coat over China Glaze Elephant Walk. The iridescent glitters are really fun in this.

Since this was a super long (but awesome!) post, here's a recap:
