Pink Wednesday: Color Club Raspberry Rush and Claire's Nail Decals

Hello lovely readers! I haven't posted a pink mani for Pink Wednesday in forever but I have one for you today! (Mostly just by chance, but that's ok.)

This mani's base is Color Club Raspberry Rush from the Wicked Sweet Collection. This was my first encounter with scented polish. I like it a lot and was very surprised by how long the scent lasted. That said, I don't think I would ever buy a polish just because it was scented. What about you??

Besides the scent, this color is AMAZING! I have lots of hot pinks in my collection, but I am pretty sure I have nothing like this. It dries super shiny (the pics are before topcoat). It reminds me of shiny plastic.

Instead of doing any stamping, we added these nail stickers from Claire's. My husband wanted me to get them, but I was skeptical of the quality. In my opinion, Claire's is overpriced for not that great of quality. Anyway, here's the packaging. I ended up with enough extra to use for accent nails in a few more manis.

And here is the final look! These had a cool texture to them...I was worried it would be obnoxious, but I barely noticed.

All you do is find stickers that fit your nail and apply them. Finish off with a topcoat and you're done! The topcoat seems to be the key in these lasting. I wore these for almost 2 days before there were  any signs of wear.

I have to say I would defnitely try these again if I ever came across them for a good price (these were a little steep at $7). I love finding new and different ways to spice up my nails! Would you ladies ever use these?

Also, on a slightly unrelated note, Born Pretty has some new Hello Kitty Necklaces that I LOVE! I have a serious soft spot for HK! This baby is only $3.62 and with code FREEL73 you can get 10% off. Great deal! <3

Pink Wednesday: Color Club Warhol

Another Pink Wednesday today... I am wearing  Warhol from Color Club's Poptastic collection. Super bright, hot pink!

Once I had applied this color it reminded me of Zoya Ali, but I don't think they are dupes for each other. What do you think?

I have had this glitter for a while and only used it once besides now. I really like it though. It's Sally Hansen In the Spotlight. Pink Wednesdays always seem to bring out the girly girl in me! :)

Thanks for reading! <3

Nail Sponging with Color Club Poptastic

Happy Saturday! My day has been full of rain and storms....I was hoping for a pool day. :( I guess this gives me an excuse to blog though. Lately I have been very uninspired and if you like me on Facebook you know that some of my ideas have been huge fails. I guess that's why I don't have a lot to show you recently. haha
I am still in Tennessee trying to get better from mono (it's been almost 6 weeks people!!) so my nail polish stash I brought has been worn out I think. I needed to get some more options  and managed to get out and find Color Club's Poptastic collection at Ross.

I used Twiggie for the base of my sponging. Obviously this shot is before clean up. That said I had a hard time with this polish because it's on the thick side. Pretty color though!

This is my first time doing sponging all on my own...I had Dustin do it in the past. haha So I'm not sure how I feel about the end result. Although I did get comments on my nails everywhere I went today...guess that means something?! :P

Looking back, I think I would have chosen a different color combo for this. The polishes I used for sponging (all Color Club) : Poptastic, Pucci-licious, and Chelsea Girl.

I think I am going to experiment some more with this tonight! <3

China Glaze QT

Hey hey! Today I have a fun mani for ya...using one of the coveted OMG collection polishes. This is QT. I have had this polish for a few months now and this is my first time using it...I underestimated how amazing it is because the holo-y goodness hides in the bottle! I still haven't decided if this is more red, or like a rose pink. It looks different in different lighting. I'll let you decide! haha

I think most holos can be left well enough alone without nail art, but since I had Color Club Revvvolution around, I decided to do some stamping with that. I used Bundle Monster plate 223. This is my first time doing stamping with a holographic polish. That I remember anyways...

I wish I would have paid attention better during clean up!
Ok so I don't use a top coat with holo polishes because I am paranoid that it will mess with the holo...do you guys use a topcoat with holographics? Do you think certain holos are affected by topcoats while some are not? Would love to hear your thoughts! <3

Color Club Revvolution

Good evening! I hope you guys have had a fabulous weekend! There is so much sunshine where my parents live, that of course I had to break out a holo! I have to say, it has been hard being able to only choose from the few polishes I brought with me on this trip!

This is Revvolution from Color Club. I bought this from head2toebeauty. I ordered a few of the other Color Club holos as well (Fashion Addict, Worth the Risque, etc.) and this one seems to have to most holo. I know polish compaines have been known to change up the formulas on popular holo polishes.

This is a fun color, but hard to capture! I had taken these pics after being at the pool, which I know better next time thanks to the lovely tip wear you see here! :P I don't use a top coat with holos either so that could be why.

I took this pics outside, which I don't normally do, to take advantage of the sunlight. Hopefully they will improve over time! <3

Zoya Mitzi

OMG you guys! This week has been ridiculous! I feel like such a slacker for not posting more. : /

Today I am showing you Zoya Mitzi, kind of a pea green color, and one of the polishes from this summer's Mod Matte collection. This is by far the hardest one to apply of the 3! You have to be quick about it because it dries so fast and it shows all errors in application. That said, the matte effect is fun, but using a matte topcoat over a normal polish would be WAY easier!

This is a super simple stamping look compared to what we usually do and what ya'll have been used to seeing here. This is the Bundle Monster plate 224 stamped with Color Club Nothing But Truffle.

Hope you like it...I really really hope to get more interesting content for you guys up soon! Thanks for bearing with me, and don't forget to enter my giveaway which ends in about 10 days!! <3

Zoya Ali

It's Pink Wednesday today! I noticed I'm not the only one wearing hot pink today... lots of other bloggers participating chose it too! I chose Ali from Zoya's La-Di-Da collection. I got this in their recent exchange and am very happy with this polish! It's a blindingly bright hot pink...my fingers are practically glowing in this pic!

The finish reminds me somewhat of the swatches I have seen of Orly Plastix. This dries semi-matte and good in 1 coat!

Dustin had this design idea (he always thinks of the good ones!). Snakeskin from the new Bundle Monster plates...pretty much the only ones we have been using lately! I had to warm up to the idea, but it turned out  and I am happy with it.

The fun part of this mani is that Dustin mixed in a little Color Club Worth the Risque in with the stamping polish to get a more realistic effect. Even though the holo doesn't show up in the bottle very well (I got a later version of the formula) it definitely adds dimension here!

Here is what we used: Konad stamping polish in black, Color Club Worth the Risque and Bundle Monster plate 215. I pretty much always use Sech Vite, which really brought this look in particular alive!

I made this pic XL so you can really see the holo effect! :P

Well, we are halfway to Friday and only 25 followers away from my 100 follower giveaway...yayy! Have a good day! <3

Pink Wednesday: Hello Kitty

Hey everyone! Today is Pink Wednesday...I know this mani isn't entirely pink, so I hope this counts! I used Color Club Soft as Cashmere for the base...such a funky color! It's a grey/brown/green. One would think that this mixture would look totally disgusting, but I like it. It was good in 2 coats and it was already so shiny without a top coat!

Here is my design! Sinful Colors 24/7 is on the ring finger. Konad plate M 64 is the background stamped with China Glaze TTYL. The Hello Kitty plate is GCOCL A02. Dustin hunted this one down for my birthday last year before it was so readily available from Born Pretty. He used Konad White for stamping that. He filled in the one on my ring finger...I still don't know how he manages to have such precision!

Also, here is the link to my entry for the Bundle Monster Contest : http://apps.facebook.com/contestshq/contests/107601/voteable_entries/19826064?ogn=facebook
I hope to do a post on it soon!

There are so many awesome ideas on there...I'm loving some of these entries!

Happy Birthday to Me!! + Bday Haul+Why My Husband is Amazing

Here are my birthday nails! It's been such a good day and I got the BEST surprise...

I got a weird crack in my accent nail...not really sure how that happened. I used E.L.F Pearl with Wet N Wild Party of FIve Glitters on Top. Accent nail is Zoya Lolly with LA Colors Crystal Glitter layered on top. For stamping: Bundle Monster Plate BM14 for the cupcake and Born Pretty plate M37 for the sparkles. Dustin got all fancy decorating the cupcake so I'm not sure exactly what he did.  :P

On to the good stuff! I got OPI Guy meets Gal-veston from the Texas Collection and Seche Vite Top Coat.

Found part of the Color Club Untamed Luxury collection at Ross...I know these are fall colors, but they are just too pretty to pass up at a steal of a price!

And finally, my amazing hubby got me the ENTIRE OMG collection from China Glaze. He's pretty dang awesome and I am so excited about these polishes...he was like an impatient little kid waiting for me to open them. haha

We also bought a cute storage solution for my ever growing collection that I will post soon.

I can't wait to show you all of these pretties in future designs! :)

Color Club Fashion Addict

I finally got in some of the polishes I ordered from Head2Toe Beauty! I got 4 of the holos from Color Club...Worth the Risque, Fashion Addict, Wild at Heart, and Revvvolution. With the exception of Revvvolution,  I was kinda dissapointed because the formulas were definitely not as holo-y (if that's a word) as some swatches I had seen.  I looked into it and apparently new batches of these just weren't as strong. If you squint and hold your hand up to the light just right, you can sort of see some holo. :P They are all really pretty and definite one coaters which makes them good for stamping, so it's not a total loss! So here is Fashion Addict...it's a pretty pinky/lavender color. In some lights it almost looks grey:

My town doesn't ever see sunshine, so getting good lighting to coax out any holo was hard! In the bottle, these polishes remind me of the Tronica collection from China Glaze.

Dustin managed to salvage my disappointment by coming up with this totally cute design! Perfect for spring, I think! Unfortunately it didn't last long because I got all my new Zoyas in today! I don't know where to begin with those beauties!

For stamping we used Konad Black and White Polish. A tiny nail art brush was used to fill in flowers.
Thumb: Love and Beauty (no name)
Pointer: Sinful Colors 24/7
Middle: Sinful Colors Innocent
Ring: Sinful Colors Dream On
Pinky: China Glaze Peri-Wink-le
P.S. These pics are only huge to bring out the holo-ness. :P
