Hit Polish Peacock Plumage

I have quite the backlog of manis to show ya'll after my hiatus from blogging!

This is Peacock Plumage from Hit Polish. What a perfect combo of glitters! I quite enjoyed wearing this mani for a few days without getting sick of it like I usually do.

I used Milani Mint Chip and Peacock...funny coincidence!

Do any of you have Hit Polish on your radar?

Hit Polish Minty Fresh + Nail Art

Hello!

Today's post is a super pretty polish from a long time favorite indie shop of mine, Hit Polish. This one is called Minty Fresh. The formula was fantastic. I'm pretty sure this is 2 coats. I only wish that there was a little more glitter that came out on the brush so that it looked more like the bottle on my nail...but that's just me being picky. ;) I picked this up quite a while ago and I'm not sure that it's available currently. Rachel usually will bring back older polishes for a while so it may show up again!

Loooveeee.

I was feeling ambitious with my nail art skills one night so I decided to add to this mani with some scotch tape, OPI Fly and rhinestones. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Other than the fact that my top coat kind of messed with the rhinestone's bling factor.

There are always so many new polishes to check out in Rachel's shop and she mostly sells minis at good prices and with an occasional sale here and there you can really go crazy without putting too much of a dent in your wallet. ;)

Are you loving Minty Fresh as much as I am?

Hit Polish Breathless and After Hours Swatches/Review

Hey everyone!

Today I have a review of a couple polishes from Hit Polish, an indie shop that I have been a fan of for many reasons, for quite some time.

First is Breathless. I love soft minty colors like this. This can be layered over white or mint to create a more opaque look. I just did 4 coats of the polish by itself for my swatch. The iridescent glitters really add to the delicate feeling this polish has. Unfortunately, I was unable to fish any of the larger silver glitters out of the bottle but I am sure those would be super pretty on the nail!

And next is After Hours. I layered one easy coat over China Glaze Entourage. I like the edgy look this one has!

Rachel makes a wide variety of polish and I think by these 2 selections you can see that! Defintely something for everyone.

There are lots of exciting things currently going on at Hit Polish:

-Right now until July 4th in their Etsy shop, you can get 20% off current polishes to help make room for the 30+ new ones coming on July 15th (including the 2 I reviewed today)!

- Hit Polish can also be found at hitpolish.com beginning July 15! There will be polishes exclusive to this website, as well as international shipping not previously available to Australia and Canada. Exciting news for all you ladies in those countries. :)

There are always lots of fun things going on at the Hit Polish Facebook page as well, so be sure to like them!

So what do you think of these new Hit Polishes?

Also, stay tuned for my 4th of July nail art for today!

*Polish sent for review in exchange for my honest opinions.

Loreal Creme de Mint + Hit Polish Mint Chocolate Jelly Sandwich

Hello!

Today's mani is a jelly sandwich using Creme de Mint from the Loreal Miss Candy collection. I love me a good jelly polish! I paired this with Hit Polish's Mint Chocolate glitter topper. A match made in heaven right?!

This makes me want some Andes Mints or mint chip ice cream! Yum!

Kleancolor Metallic Green + Hit Polish Citrus Salad

Hey everyone!

Hope you all had a great weekend. :) The mani I am showing you today is very summery.... it kind of just happened that way, I wasn't really aiming for it since it hasn't been summertime where I live for quite a while now! haha

Anyway, I used Kleancolor Metallic Green with Hit Polish Citrus Salad on top. I sliced a few citrus fimos and used them as an accent. Makes me wish I was sitting by the pool with a tropical drink in hand! ;)

Do you like my unseasonal mani?

Holiday Mani Wrap Up: Snowflakes

Happy Saturday!

This is my 500th post! That's quite the milestone, I think! :D

I hope you are all enjoying your weekend. We got snow today! Not a lot, just enough to dust the ground...but it's pretty anyway. :)

I am showing you the last of the holiday manis I wore this past week. I actually wore this one for Christmas Day. Dustin got me Butter London Scuppered as an early present (my first BL!) so that was the base for this mani. Hit Polish Noel went unexpectedly well with Scuppered, so I used that as an accent. Dustin stamped on the snowflakes and the rhinestones just tie it all together so well!

I also wanted to share a mani done by Dustin for my sister! He stamped snowflakes using some Color Club metallics and used Jordana Lunar Lights to add to the effect. I really love how this looks! I love that my husband knows how to make cute nail designs and execute them perfectly. :)

What do you think of these manis?

My Thanksgiving Mani!

Good morning!

Just a quick post to show you what I wore on my nails for Thanksgiving. A little late but that's ok! :) I did this mani sitting on the couch with my 2 year old jumping all over the place so that said, I'm quite happy with how the whole thing turned out. haha

I did a sponging gradient with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri Bronze Ablaze and Quick Brick and topped it off with Autumn Harvest from Hit Polish. My accent nail is a feather...I should have doubled up on topcoat because it's looking a little dull.

Overall, I think it looks cute. :)

Fall Nail Art ft. China Glaze Life Preserver

Hi readers!

It's getting closer to Thanksgiving and I have some cute nail art to celebrate. I really love this design. Everything came together so well!

The base is China Glaze Life Preserver (PERFECT fall shade!) and the accent nail has Sweet Potato Souffle from Hit Polish as a gradient at the tips. The colors used for stamping are Essie Good As Gold  and Sally Hansen Insta Dry Coco-a-Go-Go.

Are you guys planning on sporting a fall mani for Thanksgiving?

Halloween Mani Spam!

Happy Halloween!

I hope you all have a great day having a little more fun than you normally would any other day of the week. ;)

I promised myself I would post my Halloween manis in a timely manner so that I wouldn't have to post them all at once on Halloween. But guess what happened?! And I am such a perfectionist that it would really bother me to post a Halloween mani after Halloween. haha

So here is some spam of my recent Halloween manis for you to enjoy on Halloween! :P

First up is China Glaze Zombie Zest and Hit Polish Halloween with  China Glaze It's Alive (LOVE this glitter!) as accent nails.

This is an ombre look from black to white with CND Violet Shimmer on top to sort of tie in the ombre. I topped that off with Hocus Pocus from F4 Polish.

Next up is Zoya Sienna (a totally amazing glass flecked orange!) with Daring Digits Trick or Treat on top. This is definitely a top favorite of this bunch! I love this combo!

And here is Sincerest Pumpkin Patch from Sonoma Nail Art. This one is so fun! I layered this over a Sweet Polish from Born Pretty.

And finally, here is Spookly also from F4 Polish. I have a soft spot for these milky white based glitters. This is easy coats.

So there you have it! I may post one more today if I get the time, which is my current mani to celebrate Halloween. I have obviously been infatuated with indie glitters lately, so there wasn't much nail art to be had. If you haven't already checked out my 2011 Halloween Mani Roundup, there's more inspiration to be found *here* that includes more nail art!

Zoya Monica + Hit Polish Aquarelle + Nail Art!

Hey polish lovers!!

Today really feels like it should be Friday and sadly it's not. :( 2 more days!

I am excited to share with you this mani that I love the way it turned out. It's easy and simple, but still makes a statement!

My ring finger is Essie To Buy or Not To Buy with Zoya Monica scotch taped at the tips. I added some rhinestones for a little more flair! The rest of my fingers are Zoya Monica and Hit Polish Aquarelle.

Rachel recently revamped Aquarelle a little bit, so I have the older version but I don't think they are too different. Either way, I LOVE how this pops over the dark base!

And a yummy close up...I am still working on perfecting these shots...

Overall, I love how this mani came out!

What do you ladies think of Aquarelle?

Essie Penny Talk + Hit Polish Precious Metal

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all having a great Saturday! Dustin and I did a mini Amazing Race this afternoon with some little girls from our church and I think we had more fun than they did. haha

I have a bunch of Hit Polishes that keep accumulating because Rachel won't stop putting out awesome polishes and I won't stop buying them. HA!

So with that said, I am showing you Essie Penny Talk with Precious Metal from Hit Polish. I am disappointed in my photos...I had a hard time capturing this for some reason. Also Penny Talk did this weird crinkling thing on my ring finger. Maybe if I would have chosen a different base? I don't know...

I liked the mixed metal look of Precious Metal. It's a little out of my comfort zone and I think that's why it intrigued me.

What other base color would you use with Precious Metal?

**PS...Hit Polish minis are on sale 10% off right now until tomorrow at 3pm! Definitely a good reason to pick up some if you have been eyeing any!!

Zoya Natty + Hit Polish Nautical Nonsense

Hey everyone!

I scheduled this post for today since I knew I was gonna be a little more busy. I didn't want to skip a day since I have got so much to show you! It's kind of ridiculous how many untrieds I have right now. But I'm sure some of you know how that goes. ;)

I have another polish from Hit Polish (previously D & R Apothecary) called Nautical Nonsense. Cute name and it totally makes me think of boats and sailing. I did about one coat and placed a few glitters where I wanted them to get this coverage. I layered this over Zoya Natty and was very pleased with how this combo turned out.

This isn't your typical glitter combination but it works! That's why I love Hit polishes because there is such a wide variety of glitters that make me push my comfort zone and fall in love with combos I would have never thought of before.

Rachel puts out new stuff pretty much every week! I love it. haha She seriously has a ton of polish to choose from. She recently had a sale, so her stock is a lot lower than normal, but be sure to check back because it won't be long before there are more pretties available!

What do you ladies think of Nautical Nonsense? Would you wear it?
