MeLissa Lacquer Swatches and Review

*press sample*

Hello polish lovers!

I am happy to have another indie review to share with you today. This time from MeLissa Lacquer. This is my second time working with the brand and I really like what I got to try this time around, so let's take a look!

This is Viral Video. The glitter in this is pretty sparse but I ended up liking the end result a lot even though it took a little extra effort to apply. This is about 2 coats over a Born Pretty Sweet Color polish. Very fun glitter combo!

This is Social Media. I did one coat over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear White Out. This has quite the variety of glitters in it and they all work together really well. I like the girly vibe Social Media gives off too.

QR Code is a versatile black and white top coat which are my favorite kind simply for their versatility. I layered one coat and placed a few extra glitters over Kleancolor Pastel Pink. I think the microbars are what really ties this topper together.

Next up, is Repeat the Past. This is one coat over Milani Purple Martin. Very fun combo! I don't normally go for shredded glitter but these are perfectly proportioned with the rest of the glitters to be just the right accent. I can see this polish being perfect for the winter season as well.

And finally, this is NY on a Summer Afternoon. I haven't been to New York but I can definitely see how this name fits the polish. Lots going on, really colorful and it all works to make a pretty awesome glitter topper! This is one coat over Milani Peacock.

Overall, I really liked all of the polishes that I was sent to review for different reasons and was surprised  by a few that I wouldn't think would be a favorite. I think Melissa does a good job of making polishes that can stand out in this saturated indie polish world.

You can find MeLissa Lacquer on Etsy and Facebook. :)

Tell me your favorite polishes from this batch!

Pink and Brown Cloud Mani

Hey everyone!

Hope you had an awesome weekend! My Macbook Pro charger decided to die yesterday, so I hurried and emailed myself some pics to blog this week while I am waiting for a new one. Luckily, my husband just bought a new desktop for You Mix, so I can still blog this week! I think my pic quality got messed up through emailing so they look out of focus for some reason. So I am disappointed by that since I know I can do much better!

Anyway, this is a cloud mani that I wore a while back. I used Pure Ice Alter Ego, Essie Good As Gold and Kleancolor Pastel Pink. I always love how these turn out. So fun!

Hopefully you can look past these terrible pics and thank you for reading!

Pastel Skittles + D&R Apothecary Lotsa Dotsa

Halfway through the week! That's an accomplishment in my book. :)

Today's mani is a colorful one. I did a pastel skittles look that just screams spring (I am so over winter already!).

Polishes used: China Glaze Peachy Keen, Kleancolor Pastel Yellow, Coastal Scents Lilypad, and Kleancolor Pastel Blue. I used OPI Pink Friday on my thumb, which didn't make it into these pics unfortunately.

When I do a skittles look, sometimes I like to tie it all together with a glitter topper on all the fingers. This time I used Lotsa Dotsa from D&R Apothecary. This is such a fun glitter!

Are you guys dying for springtime yet?

Born Pretty Bow Nail Stickers Review

Hey everyone!

By now we all know Born Pretty Store has a plethora of nail related items and their selection of nail stickers is pretty big. I love bows, so I knew I would like these stickers. I was surprised at how many you get! Below is a pic of the actual  sheet of stickers...excuse the funky lighting. It's definitely going to take me forever to use them up.

What better to go with bows than a pink polish? This is 2 coats Kleancolor Glamour Barbie. This is super pretty! It's a very shimmery, almost metallic base with silver glitters.

The stickers applied very easily and laid perfectly flat. They have kind of a soft, puffy texture to them which is interesting.

I think these stickers are an easy alternative to stamping because the end look has a similar effect. I topped these off with topcoat and the mani lasted perfectly until I was ready to remove it.

You can find these stickers for sale *here*. I also have a 10% off code to use on your next order! It's AJ10W21. :)

What are you thoughts on the mani I did using these stickers?

Shimmer Polish Recent Releases Swatches and Review

Hi readers!

Today I've got some newer polishes from Shimmer Polish to share with you. I have reviewed lots of Shimmer in the past and you can view those posts *here*. For reference, I did one coat of all of these and the formula as always is great. I love how one coat gives the perfect amount of coverage.

Sarah is pretty fabulous. Probably because blue and purple glitters are my favorite. ;) I layered this over China Glaze Aquadelic. Such a pretty combo!

Adrienne is mostly about blue and gold glitters. I thought it would really pop over Kleancolor Pastel Blue and I was not disappointed with the outcome! Love it.

Karen is made up of mostly fine/small glitters which makes this easy to still do stamping or other nail art over. I layered this over Sweet Polish from Born Pretty Store.

Liana has a bit of a dark tinted base...it's really not noticeable over darker colors but I first tried this over a white creme and it wasn't looking so cute. haha So I tried it over China Glaze Elephant Walk. Much better!

And finally, Wendy. This one is pretty awesome! I think the combo of glitters are perfect together and I really love how it looks over Zoya Monica.

Tell me your favorites!

Kleancolor Metallic Green + Hit Polish Citrus Salad

Hey everyone!

Hope you all had a great weekend. :) The mani I am showing you today is very summery.... it kind of just happened that way, I wasn't really aiming for it since it hasn't been summertime where I live for quite a while now! haha

Anyway, I used Kleancolor Metallic Green with Hit Polish Citrus Salad on top. I sliced a few citrus fimos and used them as an accent. Makes me wish I was sitting by the pool with a tropical drink in hand! ;)

Do you like my unseasonal mani?

Winter Fail Manis :)

Good evening everyone!

This post is a bit out of my comfort zone...manis I'm not so proud of. haha I broke a nail and so some of these pics leave the pinky out... and that doesn't look very good. The photography is not my personal best either. But I can't stand not posting what I took time to paint and take pics of, so here they are anyway!

This is Kleancolor Winter Wonderland. I have to say that I think this is one of my favorite Kleancolors. I love the combo of colored glitters in the fleck-y base. This photo doesn't do it justice.

Next is Lush Lacquer's Snow Angel. This is so pretty and could work for a topper any time of the year. I layered this over OPI The Spy Who Loved Me. Perfect for Christmas, I think!

And finally, this is China Glaze Winter Holly (LOVE this glitter!) with an accent nail of OPI Goldeneye (SUPER sparkly!) with an argyle design stamped on top. You can't tell me this 3 finger thing isn't weird...it's throwing me off just looking at it! haha

Alright, so now you know that I am not perfect (although I strive for it when it comes to this blog!). haha But I liked the manis enough to share. Thanks for loving me even when I post weirdness like tonight! :)

Jindie Nails- New Polishes For Winter -Swatches!

Hi readers!!

I have a fun post for you today and I am excited to share these polishes you! They come from Jindie Nails, a favorite shop of mine for many reasons, including: quality, creativity, and customer service. Jen of Jindie Nails is overflowing with all these things and it really shows in what she has to offer in her shop. So sit back and enjoy some eye candy...here's what's on tap for today:

Snow Angels makes me weak! I love minty/aqua shades and the mixture of glitters in this is just perfection. This is in a pastel teal "crelly" base and the pink glitters are actually dots! Love love love. I layered 2 coats over China Glaze Aquadelic.

Let's Get this Party Started is a fun one. This has a hot pink shimmery base with a blue flash to it. This one has dots also! I layered one coat over Zoya Lara. The large iridescent glitters didn't want to photograph well and they look a lot better in person than they do here.

Next, is Talk Nerdy To Me. How cute is this? I layered 2 easy coats over LA Splash Pink Sand. This milky pink base could probably build up to full coverage without any underwear also.

Bells and Whistles is a fave of mine. All the shades of purple glitters work so well together and the butterflies just complete this! This has such a pretty lilac shimmery base so I decided to layer it over China Glaze Sweet Hook in 2 coats.

If you follow Jindie Nails on Facebook, I am sure you have seen the buzz on the next 2 polishes I am about to show you. That's because there is neon translucent glitter involved!

The first is called Swoon. Perfect name because it's a swoon-worthy polish! ;) Swoon is made up of a pale blue "crelly" base with blue dots and hex glitters and of course the neons. I did 2 coats over Kleancolor Pastel Blue. A note about these neon glitters: At first I thought they were sparse in the bottle because they weren't coming out on the brush very easily, but once looking inside the bottle, there are plenty of them (plus Jen doesn't hold back on glitter in her creations!). These neons are super thin and I think that makes it a little hard for them to maneuver themselves naturally onto the brush. So I did end up placing most of these, but I think you will agree that it is very worth it!

The next polish with the neon glitters is called Candy Land. This is one original polish! It's so happy and I love looking at it! This has a white milky base and I didn't want to detract from that so I layered it over Essie Marshmallow. The same as above goes for this polish also, I did place a lot of these. Most of the time that would bother me, but for a polish this awesome I really don't mind!

Next up, is Zomboy. This was an unexpected fave of mine. It's a gorgeous blue "crelly" shimmer base with pink and blue glitters. I layered 2 easy coats over China Glaze Ride the Waves. So pretty!

And that's it! Here's a little recap of the swatches you saw today:

Jindie Nail's shop is currently on vacation to catch up on orders, so be sure to follow her on Facebook to know when she is planning to open back up!

Your turn! Tell me your favorites of the bunch!
