Fall Nail Art ft. China Glaze Life Preserver

Hi readers!

It's getting closer to Thanksgiving and I have some cute nail art to celebrate. I really love this design. Everything came together so well!

The base is China Glaze Life Preserver (PERFECT fall shade!) and the accent nail has Sweet Potato Souffle from Hit Polish as a gradient at the tips. The colors used for stamping are Essie Good As Gold  and Sally Hansen Insta Dry Coco-a-Go-Go.

Are you guys planning on sporting a fall mani for Thanksgiving?

Happy "Holo"-ween!

Hello again!

I have the actual mani I am sporting for Halloween to show you tonight! I used Layla Hologram Effect in Flash Black with China GLaze GR8 as an accent. Dustin did some fun stamping too. I loved how it turned out!

Hope you all have a fun night! I will be posting some pics maybe tomorrow of my Halloween festivities!

Essie There's No Place Like Chrome + Nail Art

Hello readers!

Just a quick post today since it's been a busy day and my poor hubby has strep throat. :(

This manicure was all Dustin's doing, so I can't take credit for it! haha But I do love the way it turned out. All my fingers minus the ring is Essie No Place Like Chrome with a gradient of Essie Stroke of Brilliance at the tips. My ring finger is Zoya Jo and Essie NPLC for the stamping.

This look gives off a futuristic glam vibe. I don't usually go for Essies as much as I do other brands, but these one's don't disappoint!

Fall Sponging + Stamping

Hey guys!

I have a painful sore throat, so I have been laying low today. Looking forward to the weekend so I can relax even more and hopefully feel better!

I love seeing all of the fall inspired manicures you guys are doing. I have one of my own for you today. My pictures are terrible and I didn't realize this until this mani was long gone from my nails. Besides that detail, here is what I came up with:

I used Zoya Yara for the base and Maybelline Twilight Rays to sponge at the tips. Then, Dustin stamped some polka dots. My accent nails have a coat of Orly Be Brave.

Darn this blurry picture!

Here is a close up of Twilight Rays. I think it's a unique find for a drugstore polish. Very pretty and fall appropriate!

What is your favorite part about fall? I love the cooler temps, fall fashion, and all the yummy fall foods!

Essie Nothing Else Metals + Stamping

Hi guys!

Dustin and are are super busy preparing for You Mix's reopening this week, so this post is gonna be short and sweet.

I found most of the Essie Mirror Metallics on a blog sale for $4 bucks each and Nothing Else Metals was one of those. Gotta love blog sales! The Essie metallics are awesome. They do best without a basecoat and they dry really fast! I stamped a houndstooth pattern and the end was result looked really cool with the metallic base. For some reason my pics are a little grainy so they aren't as good as what I usually come up with, but you get the idea!

How do you feel about the Essie metallics? Are you a fan?

Born Pretty Store Black Polish + Nail Art

Hey guys!

I recently got some items from Born Pretty Store to review and this one didn't disappoint! This is a black polish with pretty gold fleck type glitter in it. I did 2 coats here and the formula was great!

The gold fleck in this polish inspired me to continue the gold into some nail art. I have been saving this mani from ColorfulBottle for inspiration and now was the perfect time to finally make the idea reality! First, I sponged the tips with Orly Luxe and used it to stamp a cheetah print design. I love the look the fade gives to the design!

This is a pretty simple nail art idea and it marries 2 of my favorite methods of nail art!

You can find the base polish I used *here* and the stamping plate I used *here*.

Don't forget, you can use code AJ10W21 to get 10% off also!

So, what do you think of this mani?

Essie To Buy or Not to Buy + Nail Art

Hey everyone!

I have a quick bit of nail art to share with you today. I recently saw Essie To Buy or Not To Buy in Target and quickly fell in love with the blue shimmer it had. Sadly, that didn't translate on the nail at all. It is a pretty pastel purple shade though!

I added some stamping with Kleancolor Metallic Purple. I like how this came out but the Kleancolor took forever to dry, which led to some streaking! I have heard this about Kleancolors before but I figured stamping wouldn't be that big of a deal. Guess I was wrong!

Have you guys tried stamping with the Kleancolor Metallics before?

OPI Just Spotted the Lizard + Nail Art

Hey guys!

I bought OPI Just Spotted the Lizard a WHILE ago and it took Dustin pretty much forcing me to put it on to finally wear it! haha I was judging it by the bottle and not the nail. :P It looks amazing once it's on! I didn't have the best wear time with this though...is that typical with duochromes?

I saw this nail art idea on Pinterest (my favorite place for nail art inspiration). I have had this lacey stamp for a while and never knew how to use it until I saw it done diagonally and loved it! The overall effect is super delicate.

Have you ever judged a polish before actually wearing it? I would love to know which ones!

Jade Holo Delirio Rosa + Nail Art

Happy Saturday readers! I hope you all have fun plans!

Today I am showing you a polish from Brazil. The brand is called Jade Holographic and the shade is Delirio Rosa. It's an amazing bright pink holo!! I have always wanted a holo this color so this was love at first sight...the best part is it's only $7.50 from Ninja Polish

Continuing the holo theme, I used China Glaze DV8 to stamp this peacock looking design.

And because I couldn't stop there, I added some dots using China Glaze OMG. Using polishes that all have a holo finish make for some pretty cool nail art, I think!

Also, don't forget to enter my giveaway of Zoya Myrta and Tracie *here*!

Color Club Daisy Does It + Stamping

Hey everyone!

It's been a crazy day working on You Mix orders...we have probably put in about 12 hours today! But I still try to make time for my polish and blogging hobby otherwise I would really be going crazy. ;)

So for today's mani I used Color Club Daisy Does It as the base. I don't normally like yellow polish, but this one has such gorgeous shimmer I couldn't say no. I used Sally Hansen Insta Dri in Speedy Sunburst to stamp. This is supposed to be a hot pink, but it looks kinda red over the yellow. Dustin says it reminded him of McDonalds. Ummm...not sure if that's a good thing. haha

But McDonalds or not, I still liked it! haha

Reverse Stamping Design

Hey guys!

It's been a busy couple days packing You Mix orders and balancing a 1 1/2 year old! I tried to post this yesterday, but never got around to it. So I'm posting it now! :P

Dustin and I collaborated on this idea. I knew I wanted to use a reverse stamp (a design where most of what you stamp shows up rather than what you painted on the nail first). Then I thought it would look cool with  multicolors popping out, so Dustin randomly painted China Glaze Aquadelic, China Glaze Sweet Hook and Color Club Bubble Gum (this one is scented and I loved it!) and then stamped a reverse stamp from one of the XXL plates You Mix used to carry in black.

The end result is pretty awesome!

Have any of you tried this technique before?

Color Club Wham! Pow! + Nail Art

Hello and happy Friday!

It's uncharacteristically cool and cloudy today, so I have a nice warm mani to brighten it up! I am pretty much obsessed with neons, especially this season because they are all over the fashion world and not just for nails anymore. I am a sucker for bright colors!

This is 3 coats of Color Club Wham! Pow! I don't think I captured the glow this color has very well. I went to the pool wearing this mani and it was amazing how bright it was in true sunlight! Too add a little something, I did an accent nail using striping tape, OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?, and a stamp.

I thought the accent nail was fun, even it if it didn't turn out perfectly.

What are your thoughts on neons? Any favorite shades?

Sally Hansen White Veil + Nail Art

Hello everyone!

I'm kind of apprehensive to show you this mani today only because I consider it somewhat of a fail. But I'm showing it to you anyway and I will let you guys be the judge. :)

I first layered Sally Hansen White Veil over OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh? I think I sped through application of the glitter a little too fast because it's not looking so pretty. haha

And then because I just couldn't stop adding stuff, I did some stamping with Sally Hansen Insta-Dri  in Mint Sprint. The Insta Dris are great polishes for stamping!

Overall I love the color combo with the glitter, but I don't feel like it came together the way I had it in my head. Too textured for my liking. So I'm gonna say close but not quite on this one.  Hate it when that happens! :)

Milani Photo Flash + Stamping

Hey everybody!

Today was nothing but a typical Monday that I'm glad is winding down!

This polish is from Milani and it's called Photo Flash. This polish comes from a small collection that has matching glossy lip pencils for each shade. Cute idea! Below is 2 coats. It's got a really pretty metallic shimmer/sparkle to it.

I call flowers "typical nail art" and rarely use them on my nails. But I think it's an easy design to fall back on when there is no more inspiration to be had (which has been me lately). So that's what I did! I got bored with this pretty fast, but it is a pretty manicure. There are just too many other fun possibilities out there to do flowers (in my opinion), but for me they are fun every once in a while. :P

Do you guys have a nail art design or a polish that is your go-to when nothing else is doing it for ya?

Zoya Arizona + Nail Art

Hey everyone!

Yesterday was an exciting day as Dustin and I launched the new You Mix website! I never got a chance to blog about it yesterday because things were so busy, but there is a coupon code for 15% off your order that will be available until this Saturday. Also, we are having some issues with Google Checkout, so Paypal is the only current payment method. We are working to get that fixed ASAP!

So on to today's nails! I just have some summery nail art to show yall. Zoya Arizona and Sally Hansen  Insta Dri Speedy Sunburst are the base colors and the Insta Dri also serves as the stamping color for everything but the ring finger which is Konad White.

So bright and sunny and I love how the accent nail brings it all together!

Thank you for stopping by!
