Zoya Phoebe

Here is one  Zoya's newest polishes from their Mod Matte Collection. Phoebe has a shimmer in it with a matte finish. I normally don't go for this finish, but I really love this. I heard mattes don't have as much staying power as normal polish, but I didn't have any issues with chipping. I used Hard Candy's matte top coat so maybe that made a difference? I also tried it on top of shiny polish and it mattified really well.

Dustin saw a version of this somewhere...I'm not sure where though...he woudn't let me look at my nails until he finished the design. haha It's cute though...kinda different, but it shows off the color too which I'm always torn to use nail art when I love the color. But I can't NOT do something else to my nails!
This is Koand plate M57 stamped with Konad black. Dustin used a tiny brush to fill in the cheetah with Zoya Lolly and Mitzi, the other 2 polishes in the Mod Matte Collection.

I know I posted the link to this yesterday, but when I tried it, it didn't work for me. SO here is what the entry looks like and you can look for it here.  I sometimes feel like I'm talking to myself on here, but if any of you care to know more about my design, let me know! :)

I have 10 followers now! Which I know isn't much, but I'm glad to know that there are people out there who actually care about what I post...so thanks you guys!! :)

Pink Wednesday: Hello Kitty

Hey everyone! Today is Pink Wednesday...I know this mani isn't entirely pink, so I hope this counts! I used Color Club Soft as Cashmere for the base...such a funky color! It's a grey/brown/green. One would think that this mixture would look totally disgusting, but I like it. It was good in 2 coats and it was already so shiny without a top coat!

Here is my design! Sinful Colors 24/7 is on the ring finger. Konad plate M 64 is the background stamped with China Glaze TTYL. The Hello Kitty plate is GCOCL A02. Dustin hunted this one down for my birthday last year before it was so readily available from Born Pretty. He used Konad White for stamping that. He filled in the one on my ring finger...I still don't know how he manages to have such precision!

Also, here is the link to my entry for the Bundle Monster Contest : http://apps.facebook.com/contestshq/contests/107601/voteable_entries/19826064?ogn=facebook
I hope to do a post on it soon!

There are so many awesome ideas on there...I'm loving some of these entries!

China Glaze L8R G8R and Bundle Monster

I'm finally back! Wrapping up school and busy family life have kept me from blogging...which I think I am officially addicted to. ha So today is one of the amazing China Glaze OMGs...L8R G8R. It's one of the 3 coaters of the bunch, but that doesn't matter...just LOOK at it!!

These are taken in artificial light...my town doesn't see real sunlight for probably another month or two. So depressing!

Here is my design...another Bundle Monster contest idea that I decided against because it's not entirely my original idea. This is our spin on another idea, but I can't remember where I saw it so if anyone knows, tell me so I can credit them!

This is done with BM plates 6 and 16. Stamped with Konad white. The yellow is stamping polish from Born Pretty Store, which I wouldn't recommend because isn't the best for stamping...it dries before you can actually stamp it. Dustin got all artsy with the butterflies...he did a great job!

This is topped off with Seche Vite...it kinda made the green bleed through the white a little bit. Kinda weird.

Here's the other hand, different color butterflies!

Sorry for the fuzzy picture...but here are Taylee's toes. Zoya Kimmy! She is so hard to catch at the right moment to paint her nails so I was happy it finally worked out!

And finally a quote from my husband: "I put the man in manicure!" HAHA

Zoya Bekka

Hello! Today's mani is Bekka from Zoya with fruit designs from Bundle Monster. This was originally going to be my entry for the Bundle Monster contest, but I changed my mind and didn't finish it all up the way Dustin and I were planning. BUT, it renewed my love for Bekka! This totally color reminds me of Mountain Dew! I got this color in the 3 free promo and have only used it once besides now. It was pretty sheer until 4 coats, this time my genius hubby put a white base underneath and we only needed 2 coats.

The plates used are BM 04 and 05 and stamping polish is Konad White.
This was also my first experience using Seche Vite and I think I'm in love! This mani is sorta half done so it doesn't really shine like it should. But hopefully next time around it will get the glory it deserves! :P

Finally, I joined Pink Wednesdays, thus the new pic at the bottom of my blog. I know it's Wednesday and this mani isn't pink, but I just joined today so I think it's alright. Next week for sure, I think it's a cute idea!

Color Club Fashion Addict

I finally got in some of the polishes I ordered from Head2Toe Beauty! I got 4 of the holos from Color Club...Worth the Risque, Fashion Addict, Wild at Heart, and Revvvolution. With the exception of Revvvolution,  I was kinda dissapointed because the formulas were definitely not as holo-y (if that's a word) as some swatches I had seen.  I looked into it and apparently new batches of these just weren't as strong. If you squint and hold your hand up to the light just right, you can sort of see some holo. :P They are all really pretty and definite one coaters which makes them good for stamping, so it's not a total loss! So here is Fashion Addict...it's a pretty pinky/lavender color. In some lights it almost looks grey:

My town doesn't ever see sunshine, so getting good lighting to coax out any holo was hard! In the bottle, these polishes remind me of the Tronica collection from China Glaze.

Dustin managed to salvage my disappointment by coming up with this totally cute design! Perfect for spring, I think! Unfortunately it didn't last long because I got all my new Zoyas in today! I don't know where to begin with those beauties!

For stamping we used Konad Black and White Polish. A tiny nail art brush was used to fill in flowers.
Thumb: Love and Beauty (no name)
Pointer: Sinful Colors 24/7
Middle: Sinful Colors Innocent
Ring: Sinful Colors Dream On
Pinky: China Glaze Peri-Wink-le
P.S. These pics are only huge to bring out the holo-ness. :P

My Butchering of Zoya Valerie

These pictures really suck. Let's just get that out of the way right now! I got a little lazy and haven't been using the homemade light box Dustin made. But now that Valerie hasn't been given all it's glory, I think I will! Valerie is amazing! A true one coater and it's gorgeous!
I hadn't had a chance to use this polish since I got it in the Zoya 3 free promo. So even though I really wanted to use bright springy colors, I couldn't help myself! Plus my Zoya summertime collections will be here by Monday...which is perfect since it's my birthday!!
I stamped with Orly Luxe, and used Konad plate M64.

Hopefully no more botched pictures after this!

Betsey Johnson Inspired

This post is a WELCOME break from the 10 page paper I have due tomorrow. Unlike this post, it's been painfully hard to write! I am very happy that there are 2 1/2 weeks left in this semester and I'm DONE!!! I'm not excited or anything...
On to the point of why you are here! This mani reminds me of Betsey Johnson, and like so many other things, if my budget allowed, I would indulge in her stuff often...like this beauty:

The base for this look is Zoya Penny. So far, the Zoyas I own don't disappoint when it comes to unique color and easy application. Penny is not as orangy as this picture shows...it looks exactly like a shiny new penny! Go figure! I forgot to do a base coat with this color because I haven't been very religious with that habit anyway and this color turned my nails the most nasty yellow! I know it's my own fault, but I have to say some of my Zoyas are the only polishes I have that so intensely stains nails! That scrapped my plans for my next idea...a french tip using foils. Hopefully soon!

The design is stamped using Konad plate M56 and 57 using Konad special polish in black and white.

This is after a few days of wear. I had rhinestones on the middle of the bows that perfectly matched Penny, but by the time I actually got around to taking pics they had all fallen off!

P.S. I took advantage of Zoya's promo today and I can't wait for the new polishes to get here! I wish I would have gotten a few more after I had actually ordered, but with the way Zoya loves their fans, I'm sure this isn't the last time they will have such a great promo!

My Weakness...

...is blue-green/teal/turquoise polish. I'm pretty sure that makes up the bulk of my collection. So that explains why this color reminds me of Zoya Charla. But it's not near as sparkly and the application was a pain. That being said I still love the color! It's Claire's Glam.

I

This is before stamping...thus the messiness. You can also see that the color didn't go on evenly even though this is 3 coats and it was a real pain to take off...especially with no pure acetone on hand!

I used Konad stamping plate M64 with Konad Special Polish in White. As always, credit to Dustin for stamping!

Zoya Julianne

This is Zoya Julianne with Konad plate M62. Simple but classy I think! I am a fan of Zoya...their polishes are unique and there are tons of colors. I don't think most pictures do them justice but in person they are amazing! I just missed out on their 3 greens for $5 promo which was slightly depressing considering my obsession. : P Their Facebook page is promising an amazing promo in the next few weeks so needless to say,  I am really looking forward to that. :)

First Attempt at Nail Foils...

...ok so this is really our second attempt, but the first was a pretty much a total fail that would make a mockery of what my blog is trying to accomplish. :P Dustin found DollarNailArt.com is where we got these foils. There is a 25 dollar minimum purchase but you can get a lot for that price considering everything is a dollar! The foils definitely a learning curve...luckily my talented hubby mastered it pretty quick. I thought these turned out well for only a second try! This is the passion pink foil  before the Konad stamping:

I don't put too much thought and work into deciding what to stamp because the foils don't last longer than a few days. I noticed that they stay a lot longer on toes though.

Wishing for summer...

These nails remind me of a tropical summer day...I can dream right? It was -20 this morning! All the schools were out but ours...I guess they figure college students can handle it. Anyways, Dustin did sponging with the green color and it was our first success after many previous failures on different manicures. I think it looks really good!

Claire's Mean Green
Zoya Bekka

Konad Plate 78

Finally, here are Taylee's toes this week.

Butterflies and Bubbles

Another design idea from my amazing husband! Not many girls can say their man enjoys nail art/polish as much as, if not more than they do...I never thought this would become a hobby we share but I'm not complaining!
We did a slight gradient look with this mani, and I had to make sure there was glitter involved...this past month I don't think I bought one polish that didn't have glitter. I'm obsessed!

Polish used: E.L.F Smokey Brown with Love and Beauty glitter

We're Back!

So we took a long break from this blog! Not intentionally, but little Taylee takes up a lot of our time. ;P But our love for polish and nail stamping have not stopped! We recently went crazy buying all sorts of fun new nail goodies to play with! Dustin still really wants to do a business here in Rexburg, and I wanted to revive the blog so we are trying to get it all going again. But for others not here in Idaho, enjoy the inspiration! :)

...One of Taylee's first pedicures...obviously a 2 month old isn't going to hold still for long but it's still freakin adorable!
