Wet 'n Wild Sugar Coat + Loreal Wise Mystic Decals

Hello!

A few weeks ago, I discovered Sugar Coat from the Wet 'n Wild Megalast polish collection. It's not a shade that I would normally pay attention to since it's not what I typically wear, but for some reason it was calling my name then. This is a milky, super-light pink shade that I found very flattering for a more neutral look. I was also very impressed with the formula. Although it's pretty sheer, it effortlessly builds up to a good coverage without streaking.

After about 24 hours of wearing Sugar Coat on it's own, I couldn't help but add something to it. I had these nail stickers around from when I found them on clearance at Target. They were from Loreal's Electric Fantasie collection.  They looked cool over Sugar Coat but they perpetually folded on the edges even after smoothing them down repeatedly. Can't seem to escape that issue with nail decals!

What do you think of shades like Sugar Coat?

Wet N Wild How I Met Your Magenta

Hey polish lovers!

I am starting my week off with a simple swatch. My husband got me some storage drawers for the overflow of my stash that had been living in a suitcase for the past year. It was a great opportunity to go through and revisit all the polishes I had been not using as much. I love having them more easily accessible now! My Wet n Wild polishes were in there and I picked out How I Met Your Magenta from the Fast Dry line to wear. I love the golden shimmer in here!

We n Wild is such an awesome brand. They have done a great job of offering new, exciting and (mostly) great quality products for practically nothing.

I swatched the entire Fast Dry Line a couple of years ago...if you want to see that post, click *here*!

Some Jindie Nails Swatches!

Hi guys!

I have some swatches from my recent purchase at Jindie Nails to show you today. This has quickly become one of my favorite indie shops, for the awesome products and the great customer service.

First, we have Frankenstein Spit. I did one coat over China Glaze Sweet Hook. Love this combo! I like how the green glitters pop over the light base.

Next is Stack the Deck. This is one awesome polish! I layered this over Wet n Wild Saved by the Blue. There are some huge glitter pieces in this that take a little patience but it's so worth it for the end result. I am also loving the tiny silver glitters in this!

And finally, here is Check the Candy. I really love glitters with a milky base like this! This is pretty sheer so you could cut down on coats by layering this but I chose not to here and did maybe 4 coats? The glitters came out really easily and spread evenly.

Overall, there haven't been any disappointments with my Jindie Nails polishes and would highly recommend this brand if you are looking for a reputable indie seller.

You can find Jindie Nails *here* and don't forget to follow their Facebook page as well!

And if you want even more Jindie awesomeness, check out my swatches of the upcoming Santa Claws collection *here*!

Glitter Gradient Over Black

Hi readers!

I am back after my break for my sister's wedding! Everything was so perfect! I want to post a picture of the cake Dustin made for it as soon as I get it on my computer so you guys can see it too. :)

I saw a mani very similar to this on Pinterest (my fave!) and really loved it. With Dustin's help, we were able to replicate it pretty closely by making a custom topcoat. These glitters are actually a preview of a new glitter shade we will have once we reopen You Mix. There are mostly berry/wine glitters with a little bit of red mixed in.

I love glitter gradients! How about you?

Skittles Mani ft. Flying Blue Jay by Nailventurous Lacquers

Hey everyone!

I have been sick this weekend, and just found out my sister has mono and I feel like it's only a matter of time before I get it too. :(

So today I am showing you a skittles mani I wore when the heat wave was pretty intense. Looking at it now, I must have been thinking about cooler weather because it seems more fitting to be a wintertime mani! :) Either way, I am a fan of how this turned out:

Thumb and ring: Nailventurous Lacquers Flying Blue Jay
Pointer and Pinky: Born Pretty Silver Shimmer/ and Homemade topcoat with You Mix Glitters
Middle: Wet N Wild  Fast Dry Saved by The Blue with BM stamping

What are your thoughts on the skittles look? Are you a fan or do you like to keep it simple?

Patriotic Chevron

Hey everyone!

I hope everyone had a good day. Dustin and I have been busy with You Mix and our internet wasn't working for most of the day so that just made things even crazier. :P

I have another July 4th themed mani for you today. Depending on how much time I have, I hope to have one more to show you tomorrow! Anyway, I am a huge fan of the chevron pattern so this is one (from the 2nd Bundle Monster set) is one of my favorite stamping designs of all time and it looks super cute in patriotic colors. The stamping itself isn't the neatest, but that is only obvious really close up.

Polishes used: WnW Wild Shine White, China Glaze Poinsettia, and China Glaze Ride the Waves.

I added some rhinstones to add a little something extra and it was just what the mani needed to be complete. :)

NYX Soft Teal + Springtime Dots

Hi everyone!

Today's post is short and sweet. I am sharing with you some nail art that is another idea from Pinterest. I love all the inspiration from there!

This is a really easy and quick mani. All you need is dotting tools and a few different colors. I chose NYX Soft Teal as the base, with Sinful Colors Unicorn and Wet n Wild Dreamy Poppy for the dots.

This is a favorite color combo of mine, but I say that a lot...I just LOVE color in general! ;) Pin It

Black & White 10 Day Challenge Day 3: Color on Black

Hey there!

Today is day 3 of the 10 day black and white challenge I am participating in. Today's task is color over a black base. This is also my first time using fimos! So here is what I came up with:

This is Wet 'n Wild Inkwell with Jordana Fairy Dust on top. I wasn't expecting to love this combo as much as I did! Then I had some pre-sliced fimos that gave the perfect accent. I just stuck these in the polish once it was tacky and applied topcoat over them. The fimos actually stayed pretty well!

Be sure to take a look at the other blogs participating in the challenge!

Zoya Charla + Gradient Nail Art

Hey there!

My manicure for today, I pretty much outright copied from a fellow blogger. But I liked it so much I couldn't help myself! And I will go ahead and say that I love her version many times more than mine! My inspiration for this comes from Jacki at Adventures in Acetone. She has fabulous ideas, and if you aren't following her yet, ya should be!! :)

I loved the idea she had to do a blue/purple gradient...especially with these Zoya colors in matching finishes it really spoke to me...so I used Charla for my base. This is one of my very first Zoyas and this baby is still sparkly and pretty as ever!

I love the greenish shimmer it has!

Next, I sponged Zoya Julianne at the tips into a gradient. I like that sponging allows for mistakes because it still looks good even when imperfect (like mine!). After the gradient was finished, I topped it off with Ozotic 528, a pink/blue/green color shift glitter topcoat. Again, I have to give credit to Jacki for this genius combo! It may not look like much here, but it adds just the right amount of sparkle to these colors that is just perfect.

And finally, I used Wet n Wild Silvivor to stamp in this marbly type design. I was happy with how this all turned out and loved the overall look.

Jacki, if you are reading this I hope you don't mind I used some of your ideas! Thanks for having such a great blog to get inspiration from! :)

China Glaze Make Some Noise + Gradient

Hi polish lovers!

Tonight I am posting the first of my picks from China Glaze's new spring collection, Electropop. This is Make Some Noise, a nice melon/coral shade. Below is 2 coats and the finish is a cross between a creme and jelly. I love coral shades a lot...I'm currently eyeing the new Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear coral I have seen at Walgreens..can't remember it's name though. :(

Next, I layered OPI Servin' Up Sparkle on top. I haven't seen any comparisons, but this seems really similar to Electropop. The larger glitters were a little harder to place, which was kind of annoying.

After that, I layered one coat of OPI Guy Meets Galveston on top, and it looked good for about 30 minutes, but the glitter ate through GMG eventually...which was weird. So it pretty much went back to looking like I hadn't done anything at all. :P

And finally, I sponged Wet n Wild Silvivor in a gradient starting from the tips.

This whole mani was quite the layering experiment, but I think it sort of came together in the end! Pin It

OPI Rainbow Connection Jelly Sandwhich

Hi everyone! It's almost Friday! :)

My post is quick today because we have a lot going on with our frankens at the moment.

This is my first jelly sandwhich! I used Wet N Wild How I Met Your Magenta in 3 coats, then 1 coat of OPI Rainbow Connection, then 1 coat of Wet N Wild. Kinda sorta looks like Deborah Lippmann Candy Shop!

Although the glitter really sucked to take off, I loved this mani!

China Glaze Midtown Magic + Nail Art

Hello! Another quick, scheduled post! :)

This is Midtown Magic from the China Glaze Metro collection. This was a tough one to capture in pics because it's so dark. IRL it's is a deep plum base with golden fleck shimmer throughout. I know it looks kinda brown here. Very pretty, and fall appropriate.

This stamp is in the newer set of Bundle Monster plates and I never noticed it until recently! It's hiding in the corner on one of the plates. On top is Wet N Wild The Gold and the Beautiful. I love this look? How about you?

Have a good day!

Wet N Wild Behind Closed Doors + Nail Art

Hi again! Dustin is currently tweaking perfecting his Winter franken collection for you guys. I am so antsy for it to be ready because I know how excited some of you were about it! If you missed that post, you can see it here

The base for this mani is Wet N Wild Behind Closed Doors from the On the Prowl collection. Even though there are dupes out there, this is still my favorite of that collection! It's a sheer black jelly base with multi sized red glitters throughout.

I love skulls for Halloween and these ones are just too cute. This is on a plate that is part of a set from Born Pretty.  It's stamped with Konad special polish in white, and the eyes are dotted with Orly Fresh. Dustin said they look really creepy, but that's the point right?! haha

Are you guys having fun with Halloween theme manicures yet?

Wet n Wild Color Icon Pencil Swatches and a Born Pretty Giveaway

Hello hello! How are you all today? Dustin and I's vacation is wrapping up and we will be going home in a few days. It was nice to not have my husband tied up with school so he could dedicate so much time to helping me with this blog! No worries though...we still find the time somehow! :)

It's been a while since I have posted any makeup because polish will always be my first love, but I will be showing you a few of Wet n Wild's Color Icon eyeliner pencils today! I got these super cheap at about 60 cents each! Rite Aid had them 40% off a few weeks ago. But even at regular plrice (.99), these are still a steal!

The shades I bought are: Purple, Amethyst, Turquoise, Cool Green, and Sky Blue.

And then in reverse order than above, swatches. All of these went on very smoothly with no dragging. The pencils are very soft so it makes application easy. The downside of that is that the pencil dulls pretty quickly. But the pencils are pretty long and regardless of frequent sharpening, will last a long time.

Here's an eye look I did using Purple. I applied ELF Eyelid Primer and then I lined my upper and lower lids with the pencil. After that,  I patted ELF Mineral loose eyeshadow in Flirty on the upper lid only to the crease and inner corner of the eye.

And here is another eye look using Cool Green. Same steps as above. For shadow, I mixed the top and middle shades in Wet n Wild's I Dream of Greenie palette. Both these looks lasted mostly all day.

I love doing these eye looks because they are easy, but still add some drama to your everyday look without being too over the top. Do you guys like these pencils? I think they are a great quality and value.
I don't like to invest in high end brands of makeup so I can focus more on polish...not that I like all drugstore brands, but ones like Wet n Wild and ELF make that easy!

Also, as their facebook admin, I am hosting a giveaway of some things from Born Pretty on their facebook page. It ends Sunday so go enter! :)

One more thing before I end this post: I entered a manicure contest over at Lacquered Me. My mani is number 21 and you can vote on her FB page OR her blog. I would love to have your vote! Thanks ladies! <3
