4th of July Skittles Mani

Happy Independence Day to those living in the US! Hopefully you all have fun plans for the day! :)

Here is my mani to celebrate today. Milani Red Sparkle won my poll this week. I know this isn't a full mani using it, but hopefully you will let it slide just this once. ;)

The base colors used: Sinful Colors White on White, Milani Blue Flash, and Milani Red Sparkle. How could I NOT involve glitter in my 4th mani?! haha

Dustin helped execute this mani perfectly! He was mostly the one behind this design.

Stamping colors: Zoya Tamsen, Konad Blue and White

Stamping plates used: Bundle Monster 20 and 202 and Born Pretty plates 1 and 38.

I was super happy with how this turned out!

Here is my me, my husband, and little one at the parade this morning. :)

Thank you for reading and enjoy the rest of your holiday!

4th of July Mani

Hi ladies! I hope everyone from the USA is having a fun holiday weekend. We had family come to our neck of the woods so we didn't have to go anywhere! haha Normally that would bother me since I love to travel, but since I'm not feeling 100%, I didn't care this year! haha

I am taking a break from the Born Pretty reviews since it's a holiday weekend! So this post is dedicated to my sweet husband. I kept him up last night to help me with my nails and he was really tired. And nothing seemed to be working out that we tried and I was getting all perfectionist on him ( I think being a part of the blogging world has done that to me!!). So this is the end product and while I can't say I absolutely love it, I don't hate it either. So give my husband a nice pat on the back for being awesome (and patient!!). :)

Colors used- Sinful Colors White on White with one thin coat of Zoya Luna on top.  Red Art Deco striping polish, and Konad Blue make up the design. Konad plate M 45 for the stars.

Hope you like it!

Born Pretty Review Series: Nail Art Items & Polish

Hello again! More Born Pretty for you today. I am showing you the half pearls, some polish and a stamping plate. Since this is a review, I wanted to show you the actual products. At the end of this post, I will show you what I did with them all!

These are the half pearls. I really like these. They stay on nicely with a dot of nail glue and a topcoat. The only thing that was kind of annoying is that there is a lot of static in the wheel so some of the pearls stick to the top. I tried to capture that in this picture, but I'm not sure if you can tell. It's annoying because when you go to turn the lid, some of them pop out and into other sections. If you don't care about the colors staying together, then I guess it's not a big deal! The other thing is that I wish that there was a different color in each section instead of having repeats. These are $3.55.

Here is stamping plate M59. Identical to Konad's M59 and works just as well and half the price @ $2.99! I love the bows!!

Normally, I wouldn't take a picture of a polish bottle on it's own, but I think this bottle wins the prize for weirdest shape! It's totally flat on one side and the rest is curved. Not sure if you can tell from this pic! But I love love love this polish!! Swatches below!

I am so in love with this polish! I didn't really know what to expect, but I was very pleasantly surprised. This formula is made of micro shimmer/glitter. From a distance it almost looks like a foil. But at the same time it gives the look of a full coverage glitter without the thick grittiness. I haven't been able to stop looking at my hands since I put this on! There a tons of colors to choose from like this formula and I pretty much want them ALL! haha It took 3 thin coats to be opaque. This one's name is Shiny Violet and is $ 4.74 a bottle.

Finally, this is how Dustin and I put all these items together. The bow is stamped with Konad Purple. I love this look!!

Although this pic isn't really true to color, it shows the design a little more clearly.

You made it through my super long post! Thanks for reading and I hope you are enjoying the Born Pretty products!

Born Pretty Review Series: Matte Polish

Here is another product from Born Pretty Store...matte nail polish. I got a light purple color. It doesn't have a name, just a number (01). Even though this is a matte formula, there is a lot of multi color shimmer in the polish which I really liked about it. The flash from my camera brings that out and lessens the matte effect a little.

Since I have begun experimenting with sponging lately, I decided to give it another try. I used Maybelline Express Finish in Violet Aluminum (from Dollar Tree) and sponged a gradient from the tips down. Then I added a tiny bit of Color Club Fashion Addict to complete the gradient.

Finally, I wanted to see what the matte looked like shiny, and it really darkened the whole thing up! I still like it though.

The formula on this was really good...almost a one coat polish! Application was very easy, coming from someone who is a messy polisher! haha This retails for $4.36 and there are a lot of unique mattes to choose from. Overall, I recommend this!

Finger Paints Chroma Coral + Born Pretty Store Review Series

Hey everyone! Hope your days are going fantastic! :)
As promised, here is Chroma Coral from Finger Paints. After all the glitters I had been doing lately, this was a MUCH welcome change!! Chroma Coral is a gorgeous orange red with a hint of shimmer to it.

I also mentioned that I will be reviewing some products for  Born Pretty Store. They were kind enough to let me pick out a few things to show you guys!
I choose a few stamping plates and the one I'm showing you today is identical to Konad's M66. Born Pretty's version is M66 also. I don't have this exact plate from Konad, but I do own a few other plates of theirs and I really can't tell a difference. The only thing noticable anyway is that there isn't any paper backing on the Born Pretty plate and the Born Pretty plate retails for $2.99. Much cheaper than Koand and works just a well!

And here is how the image transfers. My white stamping polish is a little thick, which is why there is some blotchiness in the design.

We added some rhinestones, also from Born Pretty, but purchased by me. I think I should have chosen a lighter color because the dark ones don't really shine on camera!

Here's the rhinestones, lot's of colors in a convenient little wheel! Just pick them up with tweezers and use a dot of nail glue to apply. Then use a top coat and they should stay put. Mine stayed on for 2 days without one coming off.

A few last things to know about Born Pretty if you have never shopped there before:
- Not only do they have nail art items, but makeup as well.
- They ship free worldwide, and it's $3 for shipment confirmation. I have used both methods and personally I think you can use the free shipping option with confidence. The only downside for me is that since they are based in China it does take about a month to show up. It is worth the wait though!
- Be sure to "like" Born Pretty on Facebook....they are always having free giveaways!
- Finally, they have a program where you get points to put toward a purchase for every review you post on their website.

More from Born Pretty tomorrow! Hope you like it! <3

Recent Haul!

Happy Monday everyone? If Mondays can be considered happy...haha
I'm excited to show you my recent nail polish/art items. I mentioned in my last post that I will be doing a series of reviews for products from the Born Pretty Store and these are the items I will show you throughout the week.

I also forgot to mention that I hit 100 posts a few posts ago! Woo hoo! haha

Next are the Fingerpaints my sweet husband bought at Sally's for me. This is  Add and Abstract, Chroma Coral, Artist's Sapphire, and Coral Compliment. I will show you Chroma Coral tomorrow!

Cherry Culture was having a sale for Memorial Day so I decided to try some of the Milani holos, one of the jewel fx polishes, and another One Coat Glitter. Dustin bought me the gold one at Kmart. <3

And finally, the randoms of the bunch. The first is from Forever 21, the next 2 from Cherry Culture. I found it interesting that the LA Girl and F21 bottles are nearly identical!

I can't wait to show these to you! <3
