CND Violet Shimmer

Happy Saturday! I looove me a lazy Saturday! Also, I changed my blog layout again! I think this one is here to stay for a while, but who really knows? I have too much fun redoing it. haha Hope you like it! :)

Just a quick post today...I am showing you CND Violet Shimmer over a few different polishes. In the bottle it doesn't look like much, but it really can transform polishes to give them a new look. Since I don't
have my whole stash with me because I am on vacation, I wasn't able to explore the entire range of what Violet Shimmer looks good on top of, but I think you get the idea!

From left to right: Fingerpaints Artist's Sapphire, CND Asphalt. CND Gold Chrome, and Fingerpaints Coral Compliment.

And with Violet Shimmer layered on top. I think the combo with Artist's Sapphire is my favorite. Although the transformation is subtle, the Effects polishes are a great way to expand your collection without having to buy tons of new colors. I will definitely be experimenting to find more fun combos with this polish!

What do you think about CND Effects? CND polish retails for $9/bottle and the Effects $11/bottle. They available at CND.com. <3

Milani Lip Flash Pencil Review

Hey hey! My husband and I are babysitting today and got locked out while the kids were riding bikes outside. I was freaking out until my amazing husband climbed up the balcony on the house and happened to find a spare key! Crisis averted!!

I have another makeup item to show you today. It's the Milani Lip Flash Full Coverage Shimmer Gloss Pencil. The shade is Photo Flash. When I first saw this it really intrigued me that a gloss could come in pencil form and actually work decently. Although it's not totally a gloss, it definitely has some moisture to it.

My overall opinion of this product is I LOVE it! Even though the color is brighter than what I tend to gravitate toward, it was super wearable and I didn't feel silly or self conscious when I had it on. It has a clean application, and I like the consistency because it's thinner than lipstick, but more rich than a gloss. I  definitely want to try out the other shades!

Here is a swatch of Photo Flash. The only thing I haven't been able to form an opinion on is that fact that this pencil sharpens and isn't retractable. In my past experience, softer pencils like this tend to use lots more product up during the sharpening process.

This color had great staying power and lasted a good portion of the day for me.

For more drama, add a clear gloss on top!

Finally, these seem to be almost identical to Urban Decay's Super-Saturated High Gloss Lip Color pencils at a fraction of the price! The Milani Pencils come in 8 different shade and retail for $6.99 on Milani's website. Have any of you seen these in stores?

CND Gold Chrome

Hey polish lovers! I am showing you a polish from CND today. I wasn't too familair with the brand before I received this to review, but here are a few basics:

- CND has 50 creme colors ranging from sheer to dark.
-They also have a line of "Effects" that can be layered to transform creme polishes.
- 3 Free formula
-Fast dry formula

There was nothing I didn't like about this polish! This is Gold Chrome. I don't know of the chrome effect translates in these pictures or not, but it looks amazing in person. It has kind of a soft look to it if that makes any sense. My two favorite parts of this polish: 1) The fact that it was ONE coat!! 2) How fast it dried! This is by far the fastest drying polish I have tried. It makes a mani quick and easy. Love it!

How many of you keep some form of nail art inspiration in one place from ideas you have gathered from blogs and such? This nail art design is comes from some of my inspiration! I saw a very similar design to the one below as an entry in the Bundle Monster Nail Art contest they hosted a while back. I don't know exactly who it belongs to, but if it's you or you happen to know, please tell me so I can give credit! :)

I had some bad streaking due to the horrible brush that my topcoat has. Beware of cheap topcoat!

So what do you think of this polish? CND polish retails for $9/bottle and it is available at CND.com. I will be showing you some CND Effects soon so be on the lookout for that! <3

Wet N Wild Glassy Gloss Review

Hey ladies! It's been a while since I have posted...and I missed it! I had a good time in New Orleans, but it was so HOT! Even though I am from the South, the humidity there is crazy! I have lots of fun things to show you guys in upcoming posts so stay tuned!

I have a quick review for you today. The Wet N Wild Glassy Gloss lip gels. Gel is a good way to describe the consistency of this...not too thick, not too runny. And I think calling it a gel makes it more "sophisticated". To me anyways! :) Also, these are moisturizing glosses which is always a plus for me.

I tested out Glass is in Session (312A), and Through the Looking Glass (309A).
These both have a light fruity scent...it reminded me of Skittles. I could barely taste it though so for those of you that don't like scented cosmetics that's a plus. Lasting time was typical for a gloss but like I have said before, half the fun is reapplying!

Through the Looking Glass is your typical clear gloss so there really isn't a whole lot to say about it. Glass is in Session is a medium pink with a shimmer to it. It gives your lips a nice sheen of color, but it's not totally opaque.

I would definitely recommend these glosses to anyone because of how versatile they are. There is nothing about them that I didn't like. These are perfect to keep next to your bed, in your purse, or in your car. Glassy Gloss retails for $2.99 and you can find them at many drugstores and places like Walmart and Fred Meyer. Until next time...have a good one ladies! <3

Wet N Wild Blue Had Me at Hello Color Icon Eyeshadow Palette

Hey ladies! I am showing you an 8 pan eyeshadow palette from Wet N Wild today. It's called Blue Had Me at Hello...for obvious reasons. haha I was really excited when I got this because I love the colors in this!

Like the eyeshadow trios I showed you previously, these are labeled with guides telling you where to put each shade. The difference between the two is that this 8 pan palette includes a definer shade. And then on the back, there is further explanation on a how-to for a few different looks. For beginners, this definitely takes the guess work out of a pretty eyeshadow look!

These are divided to make 2 looks, so that's what I did but these shades could all easily mix and match. So here are the shades from the left side of the palette. I loved them all, but was hoping the crease shade was more pigmented with blue.

Overall, these colors create a look that I really like. The effect comes off more gray, but it's still a slightly different twist on the traditional smokey eye. I wasn't sure about the Definer shade because I usually use an eyeliner pencil, but for review purposes I used it anyway. Although the staying power wasn't what I am used to with a pencil, I like that it sort of softened the look and made everything blend cohesively.

Here was my FOTD with these shadows.

The right half of the palette was more of a favorite, specifically for the blue eyelid shade. It's sooo pretty! I can definitely see myself coming back to this one.

I had good wear time on this side also. The sparkles in the definer shade didn't show up on the eye, but that really didn't bother me too much.

I would definitely recommend this palette to anyone who loves blue shades. These are all pretty pigmented and last pretty long when used with a primer. This retails for $4.99, which is a great price for what you get! You can get Wet N Wild at many drugstores, and places like Walmart and Fred Meyer. Until next time! <3

LA Splash Golden Seahorse

Hey ladies! I have this post scheduled for today because I will be traveling to New Orleans. This is my first time scheduling so fingers crossed it works! ;)

So this mani reminded my sister of Jasmine from Alladin. You will have to let me know if you agree! :) Definitely one of my favorite Disney movies!

This is LA Splash Golden Seahorse as the base. I posted this a while ago when I thought I was good at taking pics of nails. haha Next Dustin stippled on Orly Luxe as a gradient at the tips, and then layered Milani Jewel FX on top of that. The ring finger is Orly Luxe with the Milani layered on top.

I wanted to show the Milani Jewel FX up close because it really is a unique polish. This is 3 coats with Orly Luxe underneath to cover any bald spots. The Jewel FX really lives up to it's name! My nail looks like a molten metal. The flash on my camera makes the individual glitter flecks show up more than they do in person...and surprisingly with a topcoat this smoothes out to the point where I would never guess I had a glitter on.

So there you have it! I hope you like this look and thank you for reading! <3

Wet N Wild Megalast and Silk Finish Lipsticks Review

Hi! I have some Wet N Wild lipsticks to show you today. I will be going on a roadtrip to New Orleans starting tomorrow, but I will try and schedule some posts for you guys! :)

First up, are 3 colors from the Silk Finish line Dark Wine (522A), Dark Pink Frost (502A), and Cherry Frost (514A). This line retails for .99.  I think this is a steal because these lipsticks apply well, have lots of pigment, and feel very moisturizing on the lips.

Here is Cherry Frost (514A), a bright pink-y red with a little shimmer. Very pretty and goes on smooth!

Here is Dark Wine (522A). A deep red leaning brown, application follows suit with Cherry Frost.

And here is my favorite of the 3 because I think this is a unique color-  Dark Pink Frost (502A). This actually is more purply with a golden shimmer that translates to the lip. This applies more sheer, but I actually like the buildable quality it has to reach a deeper color if desired.

Next are 3 shades from the Megalast line which retails for $2.99. This is Red Velvet (910D), Pink Suga' (900B), and Sand Storm (913C).

First up is Sandstorm (913C), sort of a terra cotta shade. This color didn't flatter me, but I will say it had the smoothest and easiest application out of the 3.

Next is Pink Suga' (900B)- a peachy nude. I don't this is meant for all skin tones, or at least mine, but I really like the idea of it. This can give you a great nude lip if it matches your tone just right. The formula felt a little thick and it didn't glide on like some of the others, but I do like this one!

Lastly is Red Velvet (910D). Out of these three, this is my favorite. I love how bright this is- a gorgeous pink/coral red. This one is very pigmented so moderation is key! For me it took a little manipulation to apply evenly, but nothing too crazy.

If you like to wear lipstick and experiment with different shades, than the price of both of these lines gives you that freedom. You can find Wet Wild at most drugstores and places like Walmart and Fred Meyer. Have a great day! <3
