LA Girl Cracked Polish

So I am betting that you are really bored if you click on a post about crackle. I am just so over it! I received a couple to review, so I tried to get a little more creative with it.

The base for the first is LA Girl Iron Red. This leans more pink, but it's such a pretty color!

And then it's topped off with LA Girl Shattered. The metallic effect is much more apparent in person, fun, but still not my style. The polish itself worked well though...so no complaints there!

And the second look is purple and white stripes over a white base, and then topped off with LA Girl Shattered. Kinda fun right?

So there you have it...LA Girl Cracked polishes. These come in more colors also...another good brand to try for those of you who aren't tired of crackle!

My First Water Marble!

Hi readers! I slept in so late today! haha I guess that's the beauty of the weekend. :)

I have been aware of the water marble technique for quite some time and have even attempted it with Dustin a few times and it was always a big, fat fail! Finally, Dustin figured out a way to make it work, and here is our first water marble!

Colors used: Color Club Pretty in Platinum and one of Dustin's frankens, Black Raven.

This is still messy looking because we didn't use tape or Vaseline to protect my skin from the polish. Pretty sure we know better now!

Then, to help smooth things out and make it all a little more uniform, we put CND Violet Shimmer on top. This is my favorite of the 2 looks...and I think Violet Shimmer has grown on me since I first got it and now want all the CND Effects! haha

So there you have it! Maybe our next attempt will be a little neater. :P Have you guys tried water marbling before? <3

Blue Ombre Manicure

Hi everyone!

I have an ombre mani to show you. Ombre is a fancy word for color gradient in the same color family on each nail. I wanted to keep the finish the same to keep everything fluid, so I choose to use creme finish polishes.

Thumb: Zoya Breezi, Index: Color Club Chelsea, Middle: Zoya Robyn, Ring: Sally Hansen Blue Away, Pinky: Kleancolor Pastel Blue

And then we added this bar glitter from Bon Bons...I know some of you aren't fans of this type of glitter and I can see why because I don't really like the new Zoya ones, but these I do like. :)

And for something extra, we added stamping! This design is from a Born Pretty plate set.

I like the ombre look a lot...have any of you tried it? <3

Feather Mani Tutorial

Hello again! Remember my feather mani? Well I have sort of a tutorial now, but it's mostly tips and tricks since I don't have a lot of pictures.

First, you will want to put on a base color. It can be whatever you want: something to coordinate with the feathers or a nude polish so the feathers stand out more. This is Sinful Colors Beautiful Girl. Obviously, it's not perfect and that's fine since most of it will get covered up anyway.

Here are the main things you will need that you most likely don't have laying around (or maybe you do!). Feathers and nail foil adhesive. I got mine from Dollar Nail Art. This makes the application process a lot easier, in my opinion. You can use wet topcoat too. You will also need scissors.

After you have painted your base color and let it dry, cut your feathers to fit your nail (or in whatever shape you would like). Then apply the nail foil adhesive and apply the feathers OR use wet topcoat and apply. Then use a cuticle stick to push down the feather and secure it.

Top it all off with a super thick layer of a fast dry topcoat. You may want to file the edges of your nails to smooth out any unevenness from the feathers and enjoy!

Unfortunately, I didn't get any good pics of this on it's own. But after we applied topcoat to this one, Dustin got all fancy on me and stamped these butterflies and added rhinestones. I think it's cute and I like that it covered up the fact that the patterns on the feathers don't all match. haha

So there you have it! If you have any other questions, feel free to ask! I would love to see if any of you do this look. Good luck! <3

Jordana Pop Art Striping Polish- The Designer

Hey readers! How is everyone? We are having our first freezing/slightly snowy day today. :P

Here is Zoya Tamsen, which I have shown you before, but here you go again! A perfect brick red creme, completely covers in 2 coats.

For some more excitement, Jordana's Pop Art nail art polish in The Designer was added. This is a striping polish with a thin brush for nail art. Since it is a glitter though, you have to trace back over your lines to get it completely opaque. I love the flair simple, glittery lines add to a mani! This would be fun for the holidays for sure! And the pearls are from Born Pretty and were just stuck in the wet polish.

I don't have a lot of experience with striping polish, but I can see how these can come in super handy for easy, quick nail art! Have any of you tried these before?

Layering with LA Girl Glitters

Hi ladies!

I have some simple layering for you today. With all the polishes I own the possibilities are endless and I could probably play around with different combos all day. haha

The base for these combos is LA Girl Urge. This is a pretty pastel lime green with gold shimmer. I really wasn't expecting to like this as much as I did! This is somewhat sheer, so this is 3 thicker coats. Totally worth it, I think!

For the first layering combo, this is LA Girl Glitter Addict in Inspire. This is a light, rosy pink glitter with different size glitters throughout. Not too simple and not too crazy...this polish is a fun way to play with glitter and not look like a little kid. :P I wore this particular combo topped with LA Girl Diamond Top Coat for 3 days and had no tip wear and it smoothed the glitter out. Usually I get some sort of tip wear by the 2nd day.

And here is one that reminds me of Frankenstein...perfect for Halloween! I think this is my favorite of the 2. It's called Eutopia.

Overall, I am a HUGE fan of these glitters and hope to be the proud owner of all of them at some point! :)

One thing I did want to ask you ladies is, have you noticed the similarities between Forever 21 polishes and LA Girl? Their bottles are identical. And recently, I picked up the copper version of this glitter from Cherry Culture and realized it's the EXACT same as one I had from Forever 21! Weird...

Well that's all I have for now, but I will be back later to show you more! <3

*Some polishes in this post were sent for review in exchange for my honest opinions.
