Super Random Swatches!

Hi readers! :)

Today's post is definitely all over the place. But these pics have been sitting around on my computer for a while and I didn't want them to fall between the cracks and be forgotten!

This is Orly Frolic. This was part of a giveaway I won recently. Good in one coat.

This is OPI DS Signature, also a part of the giveaway I won. Yummy holo! This is 3 coats.

This is Sephora by OPI Just a Little Dangerous. This is 1 coat.

Here is OPI Ink matte suede. This is 2 coats.

And finally, here is a franken Dustin made over NOPI Kim-pletely in Love. A fun spin on all those rainbow glitters out there!

What do you think of these? Randomness is fun sometimes right? :)

Phone Case Inspired Manicure

Hello hello! Hope everyone's Monday is treating them well!

I got a request from a few girls in a Facebook group I am in to do a mani based off my new phone case. And of course I was happy to oblige because this case is so stinkin cute!

The base is Dustin's franken, 5 Golden Rings. The spots are stamped and the bows are freehand using the dual nail art pens from Born Pretty.

I need to do more nail art inspired by things...it's kinda fun! :)

Nicole by OPI Kardashian Kolors: My Picks

Hi everyone! I am back from a road trip this weekend and it's always good to be home. I keep saying next weekend I will actually relax, and then something always comes up. haha

My post for today consists of my favorites from the NOPI Kardashian collection. As much as it pains me to contribute to their empire in any way, I can't deny watching them on E! was a favorite pastime of mine once I hit about 34 weeks pregnant last year and was justified in sitting at home all day watching tv. :P

Ok, so my first pick is It's All About the Glam. I occasionally fall hard for a soft but beautiful shade. It happened twice in this collection! This is 3 coats, you can see it could have gone for 4th, but I still think this looks ok. The shimmer in this polish is PERFECT for winter!

Next is Khloe Had a Little Lam-Lam. This is a deep dark teal creme perfect in one coat! I like that this is unexpected, yet still simple and chic. PS the sparkles you see on the bottle are from my husband's franken supplies and this bottle made it a little too close to the glitter explosion that was our kitchen table. :)

Kendall on the Katwalk is one of my faves but also nearly impossible to capture! I tried for a while, but my camera was apparently not up for the task. This is predominantly blue glitter with green and purple mixed in as well. I believe this is 2 coats below with topcoat.

This is Kim-pletely in Love. Not sure if this title rings true for her IRL anymore, but that doesn't stop this color from being gorgeous! This is the other understated shade I fell in love with. This is a sophisticated pastel pink with a shimmer that shows mainly blue, but also a hint of purple in some light. This one is very sheer...this is 4 coats below. Although I could have stopped at 3 and been happy.

And for my final pick in this collection- Follow Me on Glitter. This is basically China Glaze Tinsletown with rainbow glitter throughout. It's such a funky combo that works so well together! This is 3 coats with topcoat.

I will say that there would have been another pick, but it is very very similar to one of my husband's Christmas frankens, Golden Rainbow, so I didn't feel the need for both. That one is Disco Dolls. Funny how you think you have an original idea that really isn't so original after all. haha

So that's it for this collection! I picked these up at Walmart.

Until next time, thanks for reading! :)

Dr.'s Remedy Fall Fever Swatches + Nail Art

Hi readers! :)

Today I have Dr.'s Remedy Fall 2011 collection to show you. It consists of 3 cremes. All of these were almost one coaters!

The first is BALANCE Brick. I saw this as more of a dark red than a brick shade, but either way it's a fabulous creme that is super easy to work with!

We added nail art to all of these polishes too. This design is from one of our new stamping plates XL plate I. The design is stamped with Color Club Antiquated.

Next up is Defense Deep Red. This polish is SUPER pigmented! You have to be careful not to get it on your skin while painting because it won't come off without staining. But this is a great shade for fall.

This design comes from XL plate C.

And finally, my favorite of the trio, Noble Navy. I can honestly say this is the only polish I have like this.   It's a perfect navy blue. Love it!

This design comes from XL plate C also.

What do you think of this collection?

You can find this collection at remedynails.com.

*Polish was sent for review in exchange for my honest opinions.

Born Pretty Store Dual Ended Nail Art Pens Review

Happy Friday!

More Born Pretty Store today. These are my first nail art pens like this and the possibilities for them seem endless! There are 24 colors in this set for around $20. There is a striper brush and the top of the lid pops off to reveal a super fine tip that when you squeeze the pen polish comes out.

Here are all the colors included in the set:

Here is the super fine tip part of the pen. For the most part they come out pretty easily, but the glitters kind of take more work.

And here is the striping brush. I noticed that the brushes varied in length throughout the set, but it wasn't too limiting in terms of making designs.

And here are little swatches of the striping brush and the fine tip versions of each color. My hands got a little shaky on some of them! The formula on most of these was super opaque, a few weren't so good. Some formulas work better as striping while others work best using the fine tip. All around though, there is nothing that would keep me from buying these again.

I have included these pens in some of my past Born Pretty manis, but I think these will be a good staple to have for nail art in the future for sure!

You can find this set on Born Pretty's website here. Coupon code AMBERL73 gets you 10% off too!

Have you guys tried these types of nail art pens before?

Born Pretty Glitter Swatches

Hi! Today is my little girl's first birthday! We had a little party for her, but she had no idea what was going on and was a little freaked out. haha It was fun for me and Dustin though!

I don't have any nail art for you today, but I wanted to show you guys a few more glitters from Born Pretty.  It's always sort of a surprise as to what you'll get when you buy polish online, so hopefully my Born Pretty posts help you out  a little! :)

The first is a glitter with a mostly gold/champagne base with blue and red glitters throughout. I don't think I have seen a glitter like this one before. This is 3 coats, but one coat is perfect for layering.

And the next glitter has holographic silver bar glitter and smaller silver glitters in a clear base. This is one coat over Born Pretty matte pink polish. I know there is a huge divide in the polish world about bar glitters...personally I don't mind them. Out of curiosity for those who don't, why not?

You can find these polishes here and here. Get 10% off your order with code AMBERL73!

That's today's post! Have a good evening! :)

OPI You Don't Know Jacques Suede + Nail Art

Hi readers! I am late posting today...I think life is getting busier everyday or something! Also, I found out I have tonsillitis today. Ugh.

But the reason you are all here is for nails!! Today I am showing OPI You Don't Know Jacques matte suede. This is 2 coats. I am a bigger fan of mattes with a little something to them rather than a creme matte.

The orange and yellow stripes in this design come from the elusive dual ended nail art pens that I keep promising a review of. They have sort of a metallic finish to them. This is also my first mani using a design off our new stamping plates (Don't forget order info is in my shop tab)! This design comes from plate D. Funky, but I like it!

The sad part about this mani is that it looks AMAZING with top coat and I didn't get a pic of it!! Dang busy life. You will just have to imagine it I guess. :)
