Shimmer Polish Swatches and Review Part II + Bottle Shots and Swatch Roundup

Hey readers!

I hope you all had a great weekend. I have lots of fun things to show you guys this week but today I need to show you the second half of the Shimmer Polish I promised! You can see the first half of my swatches *here*.

The first of this half is Jennifer. This is one coat layered over China Glaze Pink Plumeria. I had a hard time capturing this beauty, so you get 2 pictures and hopefully you can get this gist!

Next is Alice. I layered one coat over Revlon Aloof on all but my ring finger which is 2 coats. Alice is so delicate and has sort of a milky-ish base. This polish is very pretty layered or full coverage.

Next up is Carmen, a lovely bronzy glitter. Here is one coat over Orly Oh Cabana Boy.

This is Linna. I did one coat over Color Club Pretty in Platinum on all but my ring finger which is 2. Linna has sort of a Christmas vibe to it!

And the final Shimmer I have for you is called Strength. I did one coat over CND Ashphalt. Look at the awesome coverage Strength gives in just one coat! There are gunmetal hearts in this polish and they didn't really want to come out on their own so I fished one out but it got squished under some smaller glitter so it's kinda hard to tell what's going on there. But trust me it's a really pretty addition to Strength!

Here is a collage of bottle shots:

And a recap of my last post as well as this one:

So like I said in Friday's post the formula on these are all fantastic and one coat of glitter gives amazing coverage. I think these are top quality indies for sure!

Again, for more on my thoughts on Shimmer Polish, visit my last post *here*

You can shop Shimmer's Etsy shop *here* and on their blog *here* and like them on Facebook *here*!

Do you guys see anything that you like from Shimmer?

Shimmer Polish Swatches and Review Part I

Happy Friday readers!

I've got some eye candy from Shimmer Polish to show you today! This is my first experience with this brand so I was excited to see what they are all about.

Just to note since it applies to all the polishes I am going to show you: I am happy to report that all of the polishes I have used from Shimmer are phenomenal in quality and formula. It's surprisingly thin (in a good way) and doesn't get all chunky and thick on the brush. No issues at all!

Alright, so I have 5 swatches to show you today and tomorrow I will have 5 more. That way you aren't on glitter overload because these are a lot to take in... in a good way! Also, these can vary from a one coat topcoat to a full coverage glitter depending on how many coats you do and the look you are going for. Each polish from Shimmer is so complex and really tells a story. You can tell that these are not just sloppily mixed together...a lot of thought has to go into these awesome glitter combos!

So first up is Nichole. I layered one ridiculously easy coat over Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear in White Out. This is a mixture of red, blue and silver glitter in various sizes.

This is Vicki, a rosy pink with what looks to be a bit of silver mixed in. I put one coat over China Glaze Aquadelic. Don't you love how much coverage one coat gets you?!

This is Trisha layered over Peachy Keen from China Glaze. I did one coat on all but my ring finger which is two. This polish is really pretty for fall.

Here is Kim over Zoya Natty. One coat and amazing coverage! This is a mixture of mostly blue glitters with some purple in there as well.

And my final Shimmer for today is Tracy. I really love this one! I layered this over Sinful Colors Black on Black. I did 2 coats on my ring finger. This really makes the gold pop but check out all those tiny flecks of color as well! Gorgeous.

Shimmer Polish really is one of a kind in terms of the kinds of glitter polishes offered. My favorite thing about Shimmer is the formula though. I wish ALL glitters were this easy to work with and have such awesome coverage!

You can shop Shimmer's Etsy shop *here* and on their blog *here*.

How many of you own some Shimmer? I would love to hear your thoughts!

Stay tuned for Part II of Shimmer coming up soon. :)

Sweet Color Nail Polish from Born Pretty- Swatches and Review

Good morning everybody!

I have some swatches of some relatively new polishes from Born Pretty Store to show you today. The line is called Sweet Color and I think it's very fitting and I am sure you will see that too. I mostly lean toward cool tone polishes so those are the ones I am showing you today, but in the future I will show you more from this line!

All of these colors are a hybrid of a cream and a jelly. Some lean a little more one way or the other but overall I think that's the best description. They are mostly on the sheer side so it took about 3 coats to get full coverage. All of the formulas were very good and you will notice they are very shiny-that's without topcoat! But I think these would do pretty well for making jelly sandwiches which I like.

Like most polish from Born Pretty, these don't have names, only numbers.

The first is #232. This one reminds me of an apple flavored Jolly Rancher!

#337 is a lovely mint shade. I can never get enough of this color!

#009 is an aqua, another favorite color of mine!

#034, a sky blue, was one of the more opaque ones but it isn't totally a cream either.

#010 is a pigmented purple. This one had the most opaque coverage of the bunch.

And a quick overview. Do you have any favorites?

These are all sort of candy-like to me so that's why I think the Sweet Color name is fitting. ;) Even though these may not be the most original colors out there, I love having the option of a jelly finish in some of my favorite colors. So for that reason alone, I would say you are justified in owning them! haha

You can find these shades and many more from the Sweet Color line *here*. Don't forget that you can get 10% off your order when you use my coupon code which is: AJ10W21 and Born Pretty always has free shipping!

And finally, I began a giveaway yesterday to win $20 of your choice of Born Pretty products! You can enter that *here* if you haven't already!

Thanks so much for being awesome readers...you guys are the best!

Halloween Jamberry Nail Shield Review

Hey everyone!

I have another set of Jamberry Nail Shields to show you today and these ones are Halloween themed!

Below is a collage of pics showing the instructions that come with each set of stickers, how the stickers come on a sheet, and the cute envelope that they are mailed in.

You can see that each sheet comes with 18 stickers but you may not be able to tell that they are pretty large. Once you have one fitted to your nail, you will probably have about half of the sticker leftover that you can cut off and use again (if you don't have crazy long nails).  These can also be used for a pedi...the largest sticker is pretty wide.

Another note about the instructions: They say to peel off the sticker and then use a blow dryer to warm it up. But I found it MUCH easier to do it the other way around. Heat up the sticker while it's still on the sheet and then peel it off to apply. Doing it this way is less harsh on your fingers and rather than holding a little sticker up to the hair dryer, holding the entire sheet allows you to hold it longer to ensure you are heating the sticker up evenly.

So here is the Halloween design I am sharing with you today! Very cute!

This was only my 2nd time applying these, so they aren't perfect. But I have 2 more designs to show you in the coming week so by then I may have more tips and tricks to share.

Do you guys like this Halloween design from Jamberry?

You can buy Jamberry Nails here!

Essie There's No Place Like Chrome + Nail Art

Hello readers!

Just a quick post today since it's been a busy day and my poor hubby has strep throat. :(

This manicure was all Dustin's doing, so I can't take credit for it! haha But I do love the way it turned out. All my fingers minus the ring is Essie No Place Like Chrome with a gradient of Essie Stroke of Brilliance at the tips. My ring finger is Zoya Jo and Essie NPLC for the stamping.

This look gives off a futuristic glam vibe. I don't usually go for Essies as much as I do other brands, but these one's don't disappoint!

Skittles Nails to Match My Outfit!

Hey guys!

Did you all have a great weekend? :)

Sometimes when I know I have something coming up where I need to plan a little in advance what I should wear I try to match my polish to my outfit. As fun as this could be everyday, it's not practical! haha This was a maxi dress I wore to church and did my nails the night before to match.

A close up of the mani now! From pointer to pinky  here is what I used: China Glaze I'm Not Lion, OPI Did You 'ear About Van Gogh?, China Glaze Poinsettia with Sally Hansen White Veil.

Now that I think about it, I'm not sure why I didn't do stripes on my middle finger to match the dress! But I still liked how this one turned out and China Glaze I'm Not Lion is gorgeous...hands down my favorite color for a full coverage glitter (OPI Spark de Triomphe is similar also).

Do you ladies ever match your mani to your outfit?
