What's in My Ipsy Glam Bag for August 2013?
Hi readers!
It's Friday! Hope you all have something fun to look forward to. ;)
A couple of days ago I got my Glam Bag from Ipsy. Always an exciting thing to see that metallic pink envelope in the mail! This month's theme was Glamour Academy, which I interpreted as back to school or "back to basics" since all of the items in the bag are items I would use almost daily. Let's take a look at what's inside!
First up, is a shimmer powder from Mica Beauty Cosmetics in Bronze. I had never heard of this brand before. Just from swatching the shimmer powder on my hand, it seems like it's pretty pigmented and easy to blend. I like the neutral bronze color a lot and it's not too boring with it's metallic finish. I plan to use mine as an eyeshadow but I think it would also work well with a bit on the cheeks to add some shimmer as well.
Next, is an eyebrow pencil from Chella in Dazzling Dark Brown. I had gotten their Ivory Lace highlighting pencil in a previous Glam Bag and have since incorporated it into my daily makeup routine (love!). I am pretty attached to my ELF Studio Eyebrow kit which is a wax/powder combo, so I was nervous about using a pencil. It's a tad too dark for my brows but I think I need to use a lighter hand next time.
The next item in my bag was Lash Booster Mascara from Pixie. This is a cute little mini tube. I tried this on my lashes alone and wasn't too impressed. It lengthened and separated but didn't give me any volume which is a must for me. Next, I tried layering it over my ELF Mascara Primer and was much more happy with the result. Not something I can see myself buying full size but it won't go unused either.
Next up is a mini lipstick from Urban Decay's new line of lipsticks. The shade I got is called Anarchy and it's a bright pink with a tad bit of magenta. I wore this yesterday and was definitely impressed! For one, it's SUPER pigmented. I only needed one swipe and I was good to go. The formula is very moisturizing which I appreciate in a lipstick and it lasted on me pretty well all day with only a couple touchups needed.
And the final item in my bag was a Jojoba Charcoal scrub from Michael Todd. This tube is 1 oz and will probably last me a while. This is my first exposure to this brand. I exfoliate a few times a week so I will definitely be getting good use out of this. I haven't used a scrub with charcoal in it before so I am interested to see how it compares to the apricot scrub I usually use.
So that's my August Glam bag! So far, I haven't felt like it hasn't been worth my $10 each month. It's too much fun to see what will come each month and get to try new products on the cheap!

KBShimmer Fall 2013 Selections: Swatches and Review!
*press sample*
Good morning!
I have an exciting post for you today! I am happy to finally show you these gorgeous new shades from KBShimmer's upcoming fall collection! There are lots of photos, so I will let them do most of the talking. :)
First is You Autumn Know. I did 3 coats over 1 coat of Essie Marshmallow just for a nice foundation...awesome formula that was super easy to spread even with a base full of glitter. This seems like a different spin on a fall polish and I really like it!
Next is Teal Another Tail. This is 3 coats. This has a predominant pinky/purple shifting shimmer fleck that even looks gold at some angles. A very original polish shade that I don't think I would get bored of wearing too soon! And once again, a perfect formula.
I was curious to see what this looked like over black because one coat is more sheer and it has the awesome shifting shimmer in it...I wasn't disappointed! It takes on a whole new look that is too pretty!
The final polish that I have from this collection is called Excuse Me, I Blurpled. This has a pretty dark blue leaning purple base with a variety of magenta, blue and even a little copper glitter. I did 2 coats to get full coverage, very easy to spread and cover.
Because the dark base makes it harder to see the what all is going on in this pretty polish in photos, here is a macro so you can get a better idea:
I always love seeing what Christy comes up with for her new polishes. She never disappoints and makes something for everyone, I think!
The KBShimmer fall collection will be available Sept. 1 for $8.75 a bottle at KBShimmer.com.
Tell me which ones you are dying to get your hands on!

Bootie Babe Swatches/Review + Giveaway
Good morning everyone!
I have a "cheeky" nail polish brand to share with you today. ;) I'm sure most of you have heard of Bootie Babe before? They are most recognized for their unique bottle shape! Keep reading for swatches of these 2 beauties:
This is Baboon Moon. Although I don't think it's intended, this dries to a fine texture finish. It's really pretty this way...
...or with a layer of topcoat. Lots of sparkle either way! This swatch is 2 coats.
And this is Elvis Pelvis. With all the complex glitter topcoats out there these days, a simple fine silver holo glitter topper may seem boring. But once I layered one coat (which was perfect, even coverage) over black, I was so in love with the look! The scattered rainbow effect is too pretty.
I would definitely recommend Bootie Babe polishes...they are a memorable brand with gorgeous colors. Visit the Bootie Babe website *here*, Facebook page *here*, and follow on Twitter *here*.
So now that you have made it this far, how would you like a brand new bottle of Elvis Pelvis for yourself?! Just enter via Rafflecopter below:

Essie Naughty Nautical with Nail Art!
*press sample*
Hello again!
Back to my regularly scheduled posting after my post earlier this morning (it's very exciting if you haven't seen it)! It's not often that Essie gets me very excited about their polish, but I did have to get a couple from the Naughty Nautical collection because they were super pretty. My base for this mani is it's namesake...I'm such a sucker for shimmer! Here is the look I came up with...I am really loving this:
This is my first time using caviar beads...I just dipped my still wet base color in a pot of the beads and it was done...very easy! I stamped a design from my Summer Cheeky plate set and placed some stud rhinestones on the middle of the flowers.
You can find it on their site *here*. AMG10, my coupon code, gets you 10% off too!

A Very Girly Milani Strawberry Shake!
*press sample*
Hey guys!
Today's mani I liked but didn't love. I'm not sure what didn't click to make it perfect but it's not terrible either! My base is Milani Strawberry Milkshake. I did an accent nail with Revlon Girly in 2 coats (had this since Christmas and am just now using it...what's wrong with me?!). The rest of this look was created using supplies from Born Pretty Store.
Rhinestone Grabber ( seems weird, but works really well and makes it easy and fast to use small embellishments!)
Rhinestone Studs (a mix of studs and rhinestones!)
Hello Kitty Stamping Plate (love how cute the images are!)
You can use my code AMG10 to get 10% off at Born Pretty, too.
Thank you for reading!
