Milani Fierce Foil Eyeliner and Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner Reviews

*Press Sample*

I've got a few more Milani goodies for you today! I'm keeping it focused on the eyes with the Fierce Foil Eyeliners and Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliners in this post.

I've seen mixed reviews on these Fierce Foil liners. They are quite the enigma to me! There are 4 colors to choose from: Black Foil, Brown Foil, Purple Foil and Navy Foil. They come in little pots with screw off lids with Milani's signature metallic gold packaging. Each liner comes with a small brush.

At first touch, they are a dry texture that needs to be rubbed around to pick up a decent amount of product. The formula goes from cream to powder once applied and blended a bit. For the fact that these have a cream to powder finish, they are incredibly easy to apply. Super smooth and silky, and almost effortless. I used the included brush to make a winged look and it was super easy to achieve.

Also, for how smoothly these applied, I thought for sure the lasting power wouldn't be great but my winged liner stayed put all day! Another suggested use for these is as an eyeshadow base, like for a smokey eye. I tried it that way and had terrible results with almost immediate creasing, so I wouldn't recommend them used that way.

The thing about these that confused me: from looking in the pan and even my swatches below these seem pretty bold and pigmented. But once on my lid, they sheer out quite a bit. I had to run my brush over the line a few times to build up the color and even then was wishing for a more obvious, bold foiled effect. That said, because of the ability to sheer these out, they are very wearable and look more subtle compared to a plain black cream liner.

An eye look I did using Black Foil.

While I don't see any of these becoming a daily staple, I will certainly be using them every now and then.

The Supreme Kohl Kajal Eyeliner is your typical basic black eyeliner. This one is pretty creamy  and applied smoothly but compared to a gel or cream liner not as densely opaque in one swipe. It's a nice liner that works for the waterline ok and for on the lid as well. It claims to be waterproof also but I haven't tested that aspect. I can't say I'm wowed by it but it get's the job done and I'll be reaching for it regularly.

Both of these products are available at CVS.
Have any of you tried the Fierce Foil or Supreme Kajal Eyeliners yet?

Zoya Delight Collection Swatches and Review

 *Press sample*

Zoya's newest collection so perfectly screams spring, I'm almost ready to ditch my much loved leggings and boots combo in favor of light cardigans and flats. ;)

There are 3 cremes and 3 shimmers in this collection and they are all so pretty.

Lillian is a powdery pastel blue. This is 3 thin coats. Application was pretty easy for a pastel formula and it self leveled nicely.

Tiana is a perfect mint shade. 3 coats. Again, I was impressed with this formula considering this is a super light  pastel.

The last creme is Eden. This is that perfect bright medium pink. 2 coats.

Onto the shimmers! These next three have an amazing blue/green iridescent shimmer in them.

Leslie is a pastel lavender with shimmer. 3 coats. The shimmer is subtle but still pretty noticeable.

Daisy is a cute light yellow. This is 3 coats. I don't normally like yellows on me but this one I can get on board with!

And finally, Rayne.  To me, this was the most shimmery of the 3. It's got a nice glow to it!

What more can I say? I love this collection. These kind of colors just speak to me....I definitely see myself reaching for these on the regular this spring!

You can find the Delight collection now at Zoya.com for $9/bottle.

Which ones are you guys loving?

Milani Color Statement Moisture Matte Collection Swatches and Review

*press sample

I've been a fan of Milani for quite a while. They are always on trend, great price and quality formula. I'll be sharing their new for 2015 releases with you over the next little while here on the blog.

The first installment will be the new  Moisture Matte lipsticks! This affordable line retails for around $5 which makes it easy to attain the lip look of the moment. The claims made for this lipstick are that it will last for hours and not be drying on the lips because of the creamy formula that contains vitamins A&C.

Milani put a great range of colors in this collection from nudes and pinks, to orange and red. The packaging is like the rest of the Color Statement lipstick line and each name on the bottom of the tube has "matte" in front it so you know exactly what you are getting.

From left to right: Matte Innocence, Matte Naked, Matte Blissful, Matte Diva, Matte Orchid, Matte Glam, Matte Passion, Matte Confident

While I like most all of these shades, my hands down favorite of these lipsticks is Matte Passion. It's a super bright orange with red undertones. I love how the matte effect and the orange shade work so well together. I will definitely be rocking this ALOT in the warmer months!

I got pretty good wear from this formula. It didn't really last through a meal but other than that it lasts pretty well. The formula goes on smooth but dry. There's no tugging during application either. It takes some getting used to on the lips to not have the normal slip that glossy lipsticks have, but I haven't felt so dry that I needed as balm on top which is huge for a matte lipstick. so I would say these mattes wear pretty comfortably. Overall, a great and affordable choice to get the matte lip look!

What are you favorite shades from Milani's Moisture Matte collection?

Zoya Naturel Satins Collection Swatches and Review

*press sample*

Hey guys!

It's already February! Can you believe that spring is just around the corner? Zoya has made the transition from winter seamless (for your nails anyway) with some muted pastels that will work for either season. What's different about this collection, called Naturel Satins, is they feature a satin finish which is a middle of the road finish between glossy and matte.

These all had the same formula which was thick and creamy but still easy to work with. I did 2 coats for all of my swatches.

Ana is a creamy eggshell shade.

Leah to me is a taupey shade with a little lavender to it.

Rowan is a greige color. Remember when this shade was all the rage for nails a few years ago?

Brittany is a pinky beige shade.

Sage is a light but dusty jade color.

And finally, Tove a dusty blue.

I think this is a great collection of neutrals that will go with anything. While the shades seem basic I can't think of any other brands off the top of my head that would be close to these. That may be because of the unique satin finish.

Zoya nail polish is available at Zoya.com for $9/bottle.

SinfulColors Flirt With Hearts Swatches and Review

*Press Sample*

Good afternoon!

Is everyone surviving their Monday?!

I can't believe its already almost time for Valentine's Day to be here! I have 4 of the 8 polishes from a fun drugstore collection by SinfulColors to show you that will get you in the mood for the upcoming holiday. I believe most of these are repromotes from the core collection but there is a new glitter topper that's super cute!

Daredevil is a medium almost neon pink with a subtle blue iridescent shimmer. This required 3 coats but the work is well worth it because I am loving this beautiful pink shade!

Dream On has another slightly neon leaning red based purple shade. This was 3 coats as well, but again, well worth it. Soo pretty.

And the last of the cremes, GoGo Girl. A perfect cherry red. This is 2 coats.

And then we have the awesome glitter topper called Love Sprinkles. It has matte white and pastel pink glitters along with heart shaped glitters! I was hesitant to try this one simply because shape glitters are notorious for being near impossible to get on the brush and I have no patience for that. But I am happy to report that I pretty had to do zero fishing! Most times I dipped the brush in, a heart came out, even after swatching it over 4 polishes. I do wish there were more of the hex glitters because they come out a little sparse for my liking. Overall, very impressed with this one though.

And because these colors are so perfect together, my husband and I came up with a sponging and stamping mani using them!

Definitely pick these shades up if you don't already have them! SinfulColors is very affordable at $1.99 and usually pretty easy to find in drugstores.

Zoya Wishes Collection Swatches and Review

*press sample*

Hey guys!

The holiday season is upon us...can you believe it?! I'm getting a head start on my gift shopping and trying not to get wrapped up in the shopping frenzy this weekend. haha

Today I am showing you the Wishes collection from Zoya. This is their offering for the holiday season. It consists of 3 regular finish polishes and 3 PixieDusts.

Prim is a periwinkle shimmer. I think Blogger messed with this photo somehow. I tried uploading it multiple times and it's not showing up 100% color accurate even though it looks right in my photo editor. Weird. This has much more purple undertone than a blue one like it looks here. I did 2 coats.

Haven is one of my favorites! It's a gorgeous plummy purple that is so glowy! 2 coats.

And finally, Willa. This is a standard black creme. I don't know if I would have picked a plain black for a holiday collection but it's always nice to have another black creme on hand. This is 2 coats.

On to the Pixie Dusts! While I love the past PixieDust and Ultra PixieDust shades, I have to say the formula on these wasn't my favorite. They took forever to dry down to a textured finish. They stayed glossy for about 10 minutes before looking textured. Once it dried down more, I felt that the texture effect wasn't as apparent as past PixieDust shades. It was more like a regular glitter polish waiting to be top coated. Not to say I don't still like these polishes, but I don't know if I would classify these as true PixieDusts.

Thea is a plummy purple with larger holo hex glitters. This is 2 coats.

Nori is a bright, blue shade with larger holo hex glitters. Very nice for the winter/holiday season. This is 2 coats but I think 3 would have been even better!

And finally, Imogen. This is the same make up as the other two PixieDusts. This one came across pretty chunky once applied which I was kind of bummed about. 2 coats.

Normally, Zoya can do no wrong in my eyes but this collection was just ok for me. I miss the original PixieDust shades and would love to see more colors in that formula. It's perfection. I think Prim and Haven are the standouts to me in this collection.

This collection is available now and can be purchased at Zoya.com.

Do you have any favorites or must haves from the Wishes collection?

Zoya Matte Velvet Collection Swatches and Review

*press sample*

It's the return of the Zoya Matte Velvet collection! These mattes all have a soft focus finish with a hint of shimmer. And they are SO pretty...perfect for the fall and winter seasons!

As with most matte polishes, no base or topcoat is needed. In fact, the application is much easier when the base coat is skipped. The wear time for matte formulas is not as long as your typical glossy finish either. But don't let that deter you! I have gathered some ways to help a matte polish last as well as application tips in a previous post you can view *here*.

Now, on to the polish!

Loredana is a gunmetal shade. This is 3 coats.

Posh is a festive and chic red. This is 2 coats.

Harlow is a magenta purple. The shimmer in this is a bit more large than the others in this collection. This is 2 coats.

Savita is a bright, blue-based purple. This one is a favorite of mine! This is 2 coats.

Veruschka is an emerald green. This one really looks like velvet! This is 2 coats.

And finally, we have Dovima. A charcoal black. This is 2 coats. This is the only one that for me had a more satin like finish compared to the rest.

I have been a fan of Zoya since before these mattes were first discontinued, and always wished I could have gotten them. So if you are anything like me, don't hesitate on these!

The Matte Velvet collection is currently available at Zoya.com for $9.

Do you own these beauties yet or plan to buy them?
