China Glaze Surfin For Boys + Pretty n Polished Phoenix

Happy Saturday everyone!

It's been nothing but a rainy week and today is no different. I am ready for the sun to come out so I can go back to the pool! :P

So once again I kinda fell of the blogging wagon this week. If I am being honest, I just haven't been in the mood. Do you guys have to be in a certain mood to blog?

Anyway, I am showing you China Glaze Surfin for Boys with some layering. These pics are so NOT color accurate by the way. This is really a hot red shade, but I couldn't get that to show up at all. I think this is the first polish in my collection I have found nearly impossible to photograph. Either way, this polish has a great formula and is super fun and bright.

Surfin for Boys is the perfect underwear for Pretty and Polished's Phoenix! I was so happy with how the 2 looked together once they were on the nail. Perfect for summer, right?

I added a flower fimo slice for a little accent. I like it, but fimos are so hard to get used to because they stick out off my nail. I guess that's a pet peeve of mine. haha

So that's it! Also, I had my giveaway end a couple days ago and I hope to announce the winner this weekend. :)

Pretty and Polished Swatches

Hi polish lovers!

I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. I got in some pool time and finally don't feel like the pale ghost I have been living the past four years in Idaho. haha I also pulled something in my neck yesterday and haven't been able to move it without pain so I have just kinda been laying low today. Fun when you have an 18 month old to chase around. haha

Today's post features a few polishes from Pretty and Polished. This is one of my favorite indie polish sellers and Chelsea, the mastermind behind the gorgeous glitters you are about to see, is super sweet and obviously very talented.

So first is Sand Art. These are matte glitters, some are super fine and others are small. I think the name for this is perfect and I love the effect this gives! I layered 2 coats over Sally Hansen Insta Dri Blue Me Away for this look.

Next is Bayou Blitz. I had been eyeing this one for a while, and am so glad I finally got it! I know my picture is not doing this polish much justice at all, but you can still see why this is a special one. Bayou Blitz has a tinted minty-ish base with matte yellow glitters and larger matte purple, pink and yellow glitters. I layered 2 coats over Color Club Twiggy and it's like they were made for each other! The base in Bayou Blitz matches Twiggy perfectly. The larger glitters were pretty sparse and hard to place, so that's my only negative with this one.

Finally, here is Pool Party. Once again, loving the name...it's too perfect! At first I wasn't sure if I would like this one just looking at the bottle, but once applied I fell in love! This is 2 coats over Color Club Lumin-Icent which was a stupid choice because it doesn't look very good underneath Pool Party. Nonetheless, this polish just screams summer fun and makes me want to run off on a vacation!

So there are a few Pretty and Polished's for you! Which one(s) are your fave?

Pretty and Polished Party on My Yacht Funky French

Hi guys! I have been meaning to post this for a while now, but things got busy...so this feels like a long time coming!

As I am sure you are all aware, indie polish (etsy/frankens etc...) is having a huge moment right now. It's pretty amazing because there are some sweet polishes out there! So this is one of those and it comes from an Etsy shop called Pretty and Polished. This is called Party on my Yacht. This polish consists of purple, green, yellow and pink glitters as well as tiny blue bar glitters in a milky white base. I bought the mini version of this but I should have gotten the full size!

For a little something extra, I added OPI Dutch Ya Just Love OPI? to the tips.

Have you guys been loving the indie polish craze or are you not so into it?
