Born Pretty Store Feather Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Good afternoon!

If you are into glitter polish at all, then I think you will like this post! Born Pretty has their own take on the microbar glitter trend with 8 versions of the matte bar, some combined with metallic glitters. I haven't seen anything like these anywhere else yet and I think they are my favorites so far!

Lots of pics, so get comfy and enjoy!

As with most polishes Born Pretty carries, these are numbered not named. Also, they are numbered on the site for checkout purposes but come with different numbers on the bottles. For reference, I will use the numbers listed on their site.

#6 has pastel blue and white micro bars as well as small blue hex glitters. This is one coat over Sally Hansen Triple Shine Oyster Bar.

#3 has white microbars mixed with blue and purple holo hex glitters. This is one coat over Orly Frisky.

#1 has white and aqua microbars with light green holo metallic glitters. This is one coat over China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle.

#7 has white microbars and black hex glitters. This is one coat over LCN Some Like It Hot.

#5 has pink and white micro bars with pink, red and purple holo hex glitters. One coat over Sation Super Nail-tural Powers.

#2 is silver holo micro bars. One coat layered over Dr.'s Remedy Passion Purple.

#8 has purple and white micro bars with blue and purple holo hex glitters. This is one coat over Essie Dive Bar.

#4 has orange and white micro bars with red hex glitters. This is one coat over Wet n Wild Inkwell.

Fun collection, right?! The formula is really good for all of these. The glitter wasn't too sparse and spread pretty evenly. I can see these needing a bit of thinner over time, though.

You can find these glitters *here* for $4.99! Get an extra 10% off by using my code AMG10.

Tell me your favorites!

Born Pretty Store Glitter Gradient Set

*press sample*

Hi polish lovers!

I have always loved the look of glitter gradients, however executing them to perfection isn't always so easy. So I was super excited to find a bunch of these sets in different colors from Born Pretty Store.  Three 6ml bottles of coordinating glitters that have a fabulous end result!

The letters help you know the order these should be applied. I suppose you could also reverse the order for a different look as well. Bottle A goes on the full nail, Bottle B goes less than 1/2 way down, and Bottle C is just to the tips.

And here is the final look! I looove it.

I would totally wear this to a fancy holiday party...if I had one to go to. ;)

And here's a bonus look with another BPS product, star glitter stickers. I put these over Essie Dive Bar. I wish the stickers were a little thinner so they would lay flat and not peel up at the corners. But cute nonetheless!

You can find the glitter gradient sets *here* and the star stickers *here*. My code, AMG10, will get you another 10% off your order!

Are you loving the glitter gradient set as much as I am?

Essie The Girls Are Out + Julie G Crushed Candy Criss Cross Nail Art

Hello readers!

This mani is inspired by Jacki from Adventures in Acetone. She is such a fun nail artist and blogger and I love the texture criss cross idea she came up with. I decided to use Essie The Girls Are Out and Julie G Crushed Candy for my take on the look. It used lots of striping tape and patience!

My accent nail is the same Essie with Orly Be Brave. I think all of these polishes complimented each other quite nicely!

I am still loving the textured polish trend...what about you?

Essie Naughty Nautical with Nail Art!

*press sample*

Hello again!

Back to my regularly scheduled posting after my post earlier this morning (it's very exciting if you haven't seen it)! It's not often that Essie gets me very excited about their polish, but I did have to get a couple from the Naughty Nautical collection because they were super pretty. My base for this mani is it's namesake...I'm such a sucker for shimmer! Here is the look I came up with...I am really loving this:

This is my first time using caviar beads...I just dipped my still wet base color in a pot of the beads and it was done...very easy! I stamped a design from my Summer Cheeky plate set and placed some stud rhinestones on the middle of the flowers.

Like most of my nail art supplies, the caviar beads I used for this mani came from Born Pretty Store in this pretty set:

You can find it on their site *here*. AMG10, my coupon code, gets you 10% off too!

Fanchromatic Nails Swatches and Review

*press sample*

Hi everyone!

I have an indie review today! It's been a while since I have done one and I missed it!

The polishes I am showing you today come from Fanchromatic Nails. This was my first experience with this brand. Check out the cute labels!

First is The Man in the Moon. I layered to coats over Essie Marshmallow. This has a pretty shimmer in the base. I love how delicate this looks!

Next is Are You Shy? This has a sheer pinky purple base that would take on a different appearance depending on what you layered it over. I chose OPI Pink Friday and did 2 coats of Are You Shy? Check out the awesome gold flake/shimmer this has!

This is Between Two Worlds. This has a dusty purple sheer crelly base that layered perfectly over Dr.'s Remedy Lively Lilac in 2 coats.

And finally, we have Broken Holo Theory. I layered one easy coat over a Milani black creme. This was the surprise favorite of mine. The best part is that the shards laid flat on my nails! There is a perfect balance of glitters so they don't totally take over. This one is super pretty in the sun too!

How many of you have heard of Fanchromatic Nails before? Any faves from what I have shown you today?

You can find Fanchromatic Nails on Etsy *here*. You should also like their Facebook page as well!

My Final 4th of July Nail Art Post

Hello polish lovers!

I have the last of my patriotic nail art to show you today. I had so much fun with my theme week but I am ready to pick some other colors besides red, white and blue. ;)

I saw an idea similar to this on Pinterest. This is what I wore for the actual 4th and for my baby shower the next day which had a red, white and blue theme!

This is China Glaze Poinsettia, Milani Fast Dry White on The Spot and China Glaze Blue Year's Eve in a sponge gradient. I noticed I was reaching for a lot of winter holiday polishes to make all my 4th of July nail art looks...kinda funny. Anyway, the gradient was topped off with stars stamped in Essie No Place Like Chrome...loved the end result!

This isn't nail related, but I thought I'd share anyway. I made this little wreath for the 4th/baby shower. I  am sort of addicted to making wreaths...they are so fun and always turn out really cute. Plus you can go as simple or complex as you like when making them. :)

I hope you guys all had a great weekend. Look for more reviews and nail art from me this week!

Essie No Place Like Chrome + Nail Art

Good afternoon!

Continuing on in my installment of patriotic nail art today, I have somewhat of a fail to share with you. I like this design but my execution didn't happen the way I thought it would. I tried the hole punched masking tape as a stencil idea that I saw on Chalkboard Nails. My texture polishes didn't really translate on the nail as well as her's did. I have been trying to branch out with my nail art lately but you can't win them all I guess! ;)

My base is Essie No Place Like Chrome with OPI Get Your Number and Julie G Hot Cinnamon for the hearts.

I've got 2 more looks to finish out my 4th themed nail art so stay tuned this week!

Essie First Timer + D&R Apothecary Just Dance

Hey everyone!

I hope your weekend was great!

Today's mani is Essie First Timer with a topper of Just Dance from D&R Apothecary. I pretty much never buy Essie just because their stuff never grabs my attention enough but I have a weak spot for greens and couldn't say no to this one! It's such a pretty shade.

Just Dance is pretty awesome, too. The assortment of rainbow glitters means that this could look great over almost any color! I also love how the black glitters complement and pop against all the other colors.

That's it for today! Keepin' it simple on a Monday. ;)

Pink and Brown Cloud Mani

Hey everyone!

Hope you had an awesome weekend! My Macbook Pro charger decided to die yesterday, so I hurried and emailed myself some pics to blog this week while I am waiting for a new one. Luckily, my husband just bought a new desktop for You Mix, so I can still blog this week! I think my pic quality got messed up through emailing so they look out of focus for some reason. So I am disappointed by that since I know I can do much better!

Anyway, this is a cloud mani that I wore a while back. I used Pure Ice Alter Ego, Essie Good As Gold and Kleancolor Pastel Pink. I always love how these turn out. So fun!

Hopefully you can look past these terrible pics and thank you for reading!

Windestine Spring Collection Swatches

Hey guys!

It's been a while for me...sorry about that! :) Today I have some swatches from Windestine's newly released spring collection to share.

Leilani is a peachy shade with pastel glitters through out. This is 3 coats on it's own.

Crushed Rose is a murky light green base with an assortment of yellow and pink glitters. I layered one coat over Essie Navigate Her.

Rainy Day Blues is probably my favorite! I layered 2 coats over OPI Fly. This has so much depth to it.

And finally, a polish from Windestine's Valentine theme, When Hearts Collide. I layered one coat over Zoya Monica. The iridescent glitters are so glowy in this dark polish!

Tell me which ones are your must-haves!

This collection is available as of today and you can find Windestine's shop on Etsy *here*. Stay in the know by liking their Facebook page as well!
