Shimmer Polish Josephine and Crystal

Happy Friday!

This week flew by for me but I am always happy for the weekend!

I have reviewed Shimmer Polish many times before here, but I never tire of seeing the new creations Cindy comes up with. So today I have 2 of her newer polishes to share with you.

I always have a hard time capturing how detailed Shimmers are, so I am posting more than one pic of these so you can hopefully get their full majesty!

This is Josephine over Pure Ice Stunning. One coat gives nice, even coverage. This is a lightly pink tinted base. With all Shimmers, you can add more coats for full coverage. I do some awesome glitter bomb pedis using Shimmers that way!

And this is Crystal. One coat over Zoya Minka. This one was a little more thick than the typical Shimmer formula, but a few drops of thinner can take care of that no problem. This one also has a slightly tinted base. What's so awesome about Crystal is the iridescent color shifting glitters she has! Hard to capture in pics on the nail but I think you will be able to tell better in my bottle shot.

This pic is a bit blurry but it shows the shift off a little better.

Look how cool it is in the bottle! Reminds me of a rainbow trout, how fish scales look in the sunlight.

So that's all the Shimmer for now, but don't worry, there is a lot more where that came from over the next little bit!

I have reviewed a bunch of other Shimmer in the past and you can see them all *here* in previous posts.
You can visit Shimmer's Etsy shop *here* and on their blog *here* and like them on Facebook *here*!

At the time of this post, the Shimmer Facebook page is exactly 50 likes from 4,000. Once that number is reached, there will be 20% off! Good incentive, right?

Pink and Brown Cloud Mani

Hey everyone!

Hope you had an awesome weekend! My Macbook Pro charger decided to die yesterday, so I hurried and emailed myself some pics to blog this week while I am waiting for a new one. Luckily, my husband just bought a new desktop for You Mix, so I can still blog this week! I think my pic quality got messed up through emailing so they look out of focus for some reason. So I am disappointed by that since I know I can do much better!

Anyway, this is a cloud mani that I wore a while back. I used Pure Ice Alter Ego, Essie Good As Gold and Kleancolor Pastel Pink. I always love how these turn out. So fun!

Hopefully you can look past these terrible pics and thank you for reading!

Pure Ice Femme Fatale + Subtle Nail Art

Hi polish lovers!

I'm sure you all heard the buzz about the LE Pure Ice polishes a while back? I picked up a few at my Walmart that had a display (pretty much the only reason I would ever go into a Walmart haha). I mostly went for the suede finish ones. I think they marketed them as velvet...but it's pretty much the same thing. ;) The one I have for you today is called Femme Fatale and it's a beautiful emerald green. The formula was super easy to work with given the finish.

And because I had been wanting to try using a topcoat over a matte finish to make nail art, I kept it super simple and used a dotting tool to make some dots with my topcoat.

I definitely want to experiment more with that nail art technique...I have seen some cool stuff out there using it.

Did you go crazy for the LE Pure Ice polishes?

Pure Ice Polish Swatches

Hey readers!

Today's post is swatches from Pure Ice. I have had these polishes to review for a really long time and am just now getting around the sharing them with you guys. :/

The first is Wild Thing. This is a lime green creme. I did 2 coats, but it took a little work to make sure it wasn't streaky and uneven.

Next is Splash. This is a frosty, pale blue shimmer. The formula on this was a little watery, so it took a very careful 3 coats. I do think this color is pretty though.

This is Jaguar. This one reminds me a little of China Glaze Champagne Bubbles. This is 3 coats, again the formula was watery so application takes some patience.

Next is Cheatin'. This is fine blue and purple glitter in a clear base. The is one of my favorites of the bunch. I really like how small the glitter is. This is one coat over Orly Frisky.

This is Not Now. A slightly frosty emerald shimmer. I believe this is 3 coats.

And finally, here is Lightening Strikes, a metallic silver crackle. The crackle effect worked really well, no issues there. But that doesn't change the fact that I am so over crackle polish! I wonder if we will be saying that about flakies and magnetics by the end of the year. haha

Do any of you own any Pure Ice polish?

You can purchase Pure Ice at Walmart or online at Bari Cosmetics.

Happy Friday! :)

Zoya Mira French Tip

Hi everyone! Being from Tennessee, I have been thinking about those affected by the severe weather in the South last night. Such crazy destruction...please keep them in your thoughts!

Today's manicure is a french tip. I hardly ever do these because I think they are typical when it comes to nail art, and I'm always trying to be different! :) But I got the hankering anyway, and here it is:

Dustin did the tips freehand because he's good like that. :P We have been very busy lately so we didn't get around to taking pics until after a day, thus the tip wear.

Here's what we used: Zoya Mira for the tips, and Sinful Colors Glass Pink + Pure Ice Busted layered on the nail. Born Pretty Plate M12 and Konad Plate M25.
Dustin filled in the butterfly with Zoya Lolly and Sinful Colors Innocent and used a dotting tool inside the flowers.

That's it today...have a great day!
