Gunmetal with Nail Art

Lame title, I know, but also pretty accurate. haha

I forgot how much I like the color gunmetal for a polish. It's not quite as dramatic as black but still very chic looking. I used LA Splash Charcoal as my base and did some stamping with LA Colors Metallic Silver. I wished that I would have used the silver from the Essie Mirrors collection because that would have produced a much more crisp result but I forgot I had it until it was too late...oops. haha My accent nail is Jordana Galaxy which is the perfect gunmetal glitter.

A simple, quick post but sometimes those are the best! :)

Jindie Nails- New Polishes For Winter -Swatches!

Hi readers!!

I have a fun post for you today and I am excited to share these polishes you! They come from Jindie Nails, a favorite shop of mine for many reasons, including: quality, creativity, and customer service. Jen of Jindie Nails is overflowing with all these things and it really shows in what she has to offer in her shop. So sit back and enjoy some eye candy...here's what's on tap for today:

Snow Angels makes me weak! I love minty/aqua shades and the mixture of glitters in this is just perfection. This is in a pastel teal "crelly" base and the pink glitters are actually dots! Love love love. I layered 2 coats over China Glaze Aquadelic.

Let's Get this Party Started is a fun one. This has a hot pink shimmery base with a blue flash to it. This one has dots also! I layered one coat over Zoya Lara. The large iridescent glitters didn't want to photograph well and they look a lot better in person than they do here.

Next, is Talk Nerdy To Me. How cute is this? I layered 2 easy coats over LA Splash Pink Sand. This milky pink base could probably build up to full coverage without any underwear also.

Bells and Whistles is a fave of mine. All the shades of purple glitters work so well together and the butterflies just complete this! This has such a pretty lilac shimmery base so I decided to layer it over China Glaze Sweet Hook in 2 coats.

If you follow Jindie Nails on Facebook, I am sure you have seen the buzz on the next 2 polishes I am about to show you. That's because there is neon translucent glitter involved!

The first is called Swoon. Perfect name because it's a swoon-worthy polish! ;) Swoon is made up of a pale blue "crelly" base with blue dots and hex glitters and of course the neons. I did 2 coats over Kleancolor Pastel Blue. A note about these neon glitters: At first I thought they were sparse in the bottle because they weren't coming out on the brush very easily, but once looking inside the bottle, there are plenty of them (plus Jen doesn't hold back on glitter in her creations!). These neons are super thin and I think that makes it a little hard for them to maneuver themselves naturally onto the brush. So I did end up placing most of these, but I think you will agree that it is very worth it!

The next polish with the neon glitters is called Candy Land. This is one original polish! It's so happy and I love looking at it! This has a white milky base and I didn't want to detract from that so I layered it over Essie Marshmallow. The same as above goes for this polish also, I did place a lot of these. Most of the time that would bother me, but for a polish this awesome I really don't mind!

Next up, is Zomboy. This was an unexpected fave of mine. It's a gorgeous blue "crelly" shimmer base with pink and blue glitters. I layered 2 easy coats over China Glaze Ride the Waves. So pretty!

And that's it! Here's a little recap of the swatches you saw today:

Jindie Nail's shop is currently on vacation to catch up on orders, so be sure to follow her on Facebook to know when she is planning to open back up!

Your turn! Tell me your favorites of the bunch!

LA Splash Night Owl

Hi readers!!

I just have a swatch for you today, but it's not very well known brand so hopefully that makes it a little more interesting.

This is Night Owl from LA Splash. I got this on CherryCulture (who's currently have a Memorial Day 20% off everything sale). This polish seems like it was meant to be a full coverage glitter because one coat almost covered entirely. I layered a chocolate brown polish underneath not knowing the glitter would cover all the way. Now I wish I hadn't because I'm not a fan of how it peeks out at the bottom.

Either way, I really liked this color...I  have a thing for neutral glitters as a pedi so I think I will use this for my next one! There are about 12 colors like this one available to purchase. I had to resist these in the sale this time around because I want the China Glaze Neons that are about to come out! ;)

Have you guys heard of/ used an LA Splash product before?

Also, don't forget to check out my Blog Sale tab! I just added a bunch of stuff. :)

LA Splash Heiress

Hi everyone! Today is just another swatch for you. It's a gorgeous purple/blue glitter from LA Splash called Heiress. This is 2 coats layered over Sinful Colors Let's Talk which is identical in shade to Heiress and prevents from having to cake on the glitter. This is definitely one of my favorite shades of purple!

And I have been meaning to show you this for a while...this is what happens when you leave polish and other cosmetics in the heat for too long! We were on a super long car ride back in August. luckily there was only one real casualty, but it was still sad! Looks crazy huh?

Thank you for sticking with me, even on less interesting days! :)

LA Splash Charcoal

Hello readers! As I mentioned yesterday, I am driving back home after being out of town for a month so this post is scheduled. As nice as it was to be away, I am sick of living out of a suitcase! :P

I have another LA Splash for you today. I really love the unique selection this brand has to offer...I would own them all if I could! The one I am showing you is Charcoal. Kind of self explanatory in terms of shade description I think! This went on in 2 coats and is perfect for fall!

Dustin came up with this mani since I was feeling uninspired. It's different, but neat. I don't know...what do you ladies think? Funky right? This uses Konad Black and Pink stamping polish swirled together on the plate.

That's it for today! Have a good one! :)

LA Splash Oceans Fairy

Hi everyone! I am happy to be back posting today...I had an unfortunate accident with my SD card and everything was erased from it. I had probably a week's worth of posts on there. I just feel sick about it all. :( Since I couldn't go any longer without posting (because I really do love it!), I borrowed my sister's SD card for the time being.

I had pics of this LA Splash polish on my camera, but they are gone now...so these were taken on the third day of wear. Not bad though! This color is a pretty Christmas green, but I still think it's appropriate for any time. This is a glitter polish, but it's not too chunky...which is always nice! It took 2 coats.

LA Splash has a really unique color/finish selection...I really don't know of any of their polishes that are dupes. Though I am sure there are a few.

I also wanted to point out that I added an option to follow by email on the right sidebar a few weeks ago. :)

Well I hope to get back in the groove with some more pics (and some more exciting content) very soon! <3

LA Splash Pink Sand

Hi ladies! Tonight is bittersweet because this is the last night I have with all my family together. My sister is going back to college tomorrow. Her and my mom are driving from Tennessee to Utah this week! Wish them luck! :P

The mani I am showing you today is LA Splash Pink Sand. This was a color that I unexpectedly really liked. If you have been following me for a while you know I don't go for toned down shades very often! This is a gorgeous ballerina pink with shimmer.

The formula was a tad thick, but with patience it all evens out ok. This is 2 coats.

Next, I added a gradient using the Glitter Gradient Set from Born Pretty Store to my ring finger. I was very tempted to leave it this way because I LOVE how the glitter looks with Pink Sand!

But alas, I just can't help myself! :) So here is Konad plate M57 stamped with Sally Hansen Color Quick pen in Fuchsia Chrome added to the rest of the fingers:

I know I have been showing you lots of pink and girly mani's lately...hope ya'll don't mind! :)

LA Splash Golden Seahorse

Hey ladies! I have this post scheduled for today because I will be traveling to New Orleans. This is my first time scheduling so fingers crossed it works! ;)

So this mani reminded my sister of Jasmine from Alladin. You will have to let me know if you agree! :) Definitely one of my favorite Disney movies!

This is LA Splash Golden Seahorse as the base. I posted this a while ago when I thought I was good at taking pics of nails. haha Next Dustin stippled on Orly Luxe as a gradient at the tips, and then layered Milani Jewel FX on top of that. The ring finger is Orly Luxe with the Milani layered on top.

I wanted to show the Milani Jewel FX up close because it really is a unique polish. This is 3 coats with Orly Luxe underneath to cover any bald spots. The Jewel FX really lives up to it's name! My nail looks like a molten metal. The flash on my camera makes the individual glitter flecks show up more than they do in person...and surprisingly with a topcoat this smoothes out to the point where I would never guess I had a glitter on.

So there you have it! I hope you like this look and thank you for reading! <3

Another Scotch Tape Manicure

Hey everyone! I hope you are enjoying your Saturday....I don't know about you, but I am happy it's the weekend! :)

Today is a mani Dustin and I put together using scotch tape. I hope to have a tutorial on how to use scotch tape with polish very soon!

This is a more funky look, but I think it works. I love putting together color combos...I have a weird obsession with it. haha So I'm happy with how the yellow/gray turned out.

We used Bundle Monster plate 203 and Konad plate M20 with Konad Black for stamping. Polishes used: Claire's Matte Grey and Kleancolor Pastel Yellow. The ring and thumb finger have Claire's holographic topcoat (LOVE!) and Kleancolor Holo Yellow layered on top.

Nothing too exciting, but I hope you like it! :)
Also, I caught Taylee during a nap recently so I did her toes. She woke up before I could add nail art. I can't get enough of her cute little feet! She is sporting Zoya Mira with LA Splash Sparkling Lavender on top.

LA Splash

I took a little break from stamping for this manicure. I have been on a nail polish buying binge lately and have an embarrassing amount of polishes that I have yet to use. But really though, it's not like I'm going to pass up a polish just because I have some at home I haven't used yet!! And it doesn't help that Dustin is just as addicted as I am so I have no one to stop me! haha

Anyways...I know that I love a color a lot when I really don't have a desire to stamp over it. This one is from LA Splash and it's called Golden Seahorse...kind of a jade color. Such a fun name I think! I like the effect of the golden glitter already in the polish.

I got this at Ulta...all their LA Splash polishes were buy 2 get one free. I am not too familiar with the brand, but they had some unique colors. The formula was a little thick which made the application tricky but I think it's worth it.
