Pink and Green Skittlete

Hey everyone!

I am still working through my past manicures in between review posts. This is a summer look for sure! I know it's technically all about fall right now (I just bought an awesome fall scented candle that I can't wait to use!) but it's like the hottest it's been all summer this week, sooo it's still summertime for me! ;)

My base is Nabi Rainbow Effect in Green. Zoya Ali is my accent nail as well as what I used for the chevron stripes (made with some french tip guide stickers). I added Darling Diva's Bonnie Lassie to my accent nail too.

This isn't my typical picture hand because I liked how the chevron turned out better on this one...hence the different hand poses!

This bright mani was fun to wear and definitely screams summer!

Is it becoming fall where you live yet?

Darling Diva Polish Swatches and Review

Hello everybody!

I'm starting to see spring collections pop up all over the place between the indie world and big brands. I have to say it's refreshing to see all the bright, happy colors! Today I am showing you some spring themed polish from Darling Diva. I have always loved this shop and love seeing what Carrie comes up with next.

 Look how bright and colorful!

First is Bonnie Lassie. I layered one coat over Orly Fresh. Perfect for St. Patrick's Day, right? This could have benefited from a layer of topcoat to smooth things out a bit but that's probably a given with any polish. ;)

This is Zoey Jane. According to the product listing for this, it's a reformulated version from the original. I layered one coat over Color Club Fashion Addict (the less holo version). I should have done a different color to help the glitters pop a little more. But anyway, this was so full of glitter I was actually putting some back in the bottle before painting my nail! Which, it's normally the other way around with glitter...too sparse in one coat. I have noticed this in a few indies I have tried in the past and it's nice to see one that doesn't skimp out on the glitter!

And finally, the surprise stunner for me, Anna. When I first opened the promo package Carrie sent I thought, "A blue holo glitter...pretty, but not very exciting." HA I was SO wrong! Once I had it all painted on my nails I was loving how gorgeous this was! I couldn't stop looking at it! I did 4 coats with no underwear...but the formula was awesome enough that I could pull that off without hating my life. The cool thing about Anna is that you can easily use this as a 1 coat topper as well. Love the versatility...I need a version of this in every color, I think. ;)

Tell me which ones you are loving!

These polishes are available now, in Darling Diva's Etsy shop. Make sure to follow the Darling Diva Facebook page too, for extra perks! :)

More Christmas Manis!

Hey everyone!

It's been a while for me! I took some time off this past week to celebrate the holidays with my family...but I am back now and ready to be back in the normal pattern of life again. :) I'm showing you some holiday looks I wore over the past week. Again, these photos aren't my best and I look forward to being able to truly focus on blogging again  and presenting you with the standard you know from me.

First is Crooked Star from Darling Diva. I layered this over China Glaze Running in Circles which is freaking awesome....everyone needs it!

Next is Tree-mendous from Lush Lacquer layered over Orly Fresh. Still got the broken pinky nail, unfortunately.

And finally, a little stamping! I don't do this enough anymore. This is such a fun look but my topcoat smeared it. :(

I will probably have another post like this to wrap up my holiday manis and then I will be back to what I do best, hopefully!

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!

3 Darling Diva Holiday Collection Swatches!

Hi lovely readers!

Are you guys getting ready for Halloween? My little toddler fell down a few stairs last night and woke up with her eye practically swollen shut, so I guess she gets to sport a black eye with her Dorothy costume tomorrow. :(

So today I've got some fun holiday polishes from Darling Diva's upcoming A Christmas Story collection to show you! I am so excited about these because they are so stinkin pretty! I am showing you 3 out of the complete collection.

First is Pink Nightmare. I knew I would like this one just by looking at the bottle and once it was on my nails, I was not disappointed! Pink Nightmare is anything but a nightmare. haha I layered one easy coat over OPI Pink Friday. Some of the larger glitters came out on their own and others I fished around for a bit. This polish has small iridescent color shifting glitters that give it a pretty blue flash. Super sparkly!

Can you see the blue flash this has? Love.

Next is FUUUUUUUDGE!!!!. I layered one coat with some dabbing here and there over OPI Did You 'Ear About Van Gogh?. This glitter combo is so unexpected and it totally works, which makes me love it more than I already do! I really like the tiny gold shimmer throughout the base also.

Ahhh this one just makes me happy!

And finally we have Electric Sex (in reference to the leg lamp in the movie :P). This has a sheer black jelly base with lots of different kinds of gold glitters throughout. I layered this over black and the glitters were a little hard to place in only 2 coats. If you wanted to wear this one on it's own you could and probably get more glitter out that way. Either way, I love the look this has. You can't go wrong with black and gold! Definitely an eye-catching polish!

There's even some holo glitter in here!

So there you have it! I would love to hear your thoughts on these! Any favorites? I love them all for different reasons.

This collection will become available for purchase on November 1st! Day after tomorrow! Be sure to check out the Darling Diva shop if you haven't already and follow her on Facebook to stay in the know on all things Darling Diva!

Orly After Party + Darling Diva Roller Girl

TGIF polish lovers! Who has fun plans?

I have a layering combo for you today. I got Orly After Party on clearance at Sally's a few weeks ago. I don't know why I never paid attention to it before, because it's so pretty!

I thought that Roller Girl from Darling Diva Polish would be a perfect complement to After Party and I wasn't let down! This combo sort of reminds me of space! I love the tiny silver shimmer it has.

Ahhh....this is so fun to look at. ;)

Do any of you own Roller Girl or any other Darling Diva polishes?

Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect Sea + Darling Diva Fancy Nancy

Good morning readers!

It's been an early Saturday morning for me, so I am looking forward to taking a nap later today!

I recently bought a couple of the Sally Hansen Smooth and Perfect polishes. I needed a very light purple (Whisper) for my sister's wedding and they were BOGO 1/2 off at Walgreens so I picked up the other color that stood out to me: Sea. It's a very light mint color. These polishes are very sheer and completely full coverage is 4 coats, but you can get away with 3 for a more delicate look. I should have waited longer for my coats to dry in between because I ended up with a lot of bubbles. :( I do love how delicate these polishes look on the nail though.

My accent nail is a polish from Darling Diva called Fancy Nancy. This is a glitter topcoat that is not over the top and is super wearable. I did 2 coats below.

Finally, I stamped some dots with a Color Club Foiled polish!

So Fancy Nancy has some cute heart glitters in it and I managed to get a few on my nails. I think it is a perfect addition to this polish.

And here is a macro bottle shot. I love macros of glitter. Love.

Have you heard of Darling Diva before? It looks like she is on vacation right now, but has some exciting stuff in the works!

Have a great Saturday!
