Spellbound Nails Unholy Holo + Halloween Stamping

Happy Halloween!

I don't have a lot of experience with thermal polishes but I know that there are a lot of them popping up in the indie world lately. I bought a mini thermal duo from Spellbound Nails from her Halloween collection this year. Not only are they thermal, they are scented! I am showing you Unholy Holo from this duo today. I chose Apple Cinnamon for my scent. The formula was pretty sheer so I did about 4 coats for coverage. The polish looks orange in the bottle but once it dried on my nail it turned a light green. You can see the orange still just barely at my tips.

I added some stamping from Bundle Monster's holiday collection in black and topcoated it.

Here I just dipped my tips in ice water to make more of the orange visible. I also used my flash to show off the pretty holo effect.

And here they are after a full dunk in ice water...totally orange! Thermals are super fun! I just wish I could figure out how to get the two toned effect to last longer because I think that's when they look the best.

What do you ladies think of thermal polishes? I would love to know any tips or tricks you may have!

Also, I wanted to share my Halloween nail art roundup post, here, from a couple years ago in case you are looking for some last minute inspiration!

OPI Didn't On 'EM + Jindie Nails Monstar

Hello!

Hope you all had a great weekend!

I will be featuring some Halloween manis this week leading up to the holiday! To kick things off, I'm wearing OPI Did It On 'Em and Jindie Nails Monstar. I bought this last year and never wore it in time for Halloween so I made sure to make it happen this year! It's such a fun glitter, I can't believe it took me so long to use it!

I look forward to seeing what everyone else in the polish community comes up with for Halloween this  year!

Also if you missed it, Butter London is on Zulily today and there is only ONE more day to enter my giveaway!

Happy "Holo"-ween!

Hello again!

I have the actual mani I am sporting for Halloween to show you tonight! I used Layla Hologram Effect in Flash Black with China GLaze GR8 as an accent. Dustin did some fun stamping too. I loved how it turned out!

Hope you all have a fun night! I will be posting some pics maybe tomorrow of my Halloween festivities!

Halloween Mani Spam!

Happy Halloween!

I hope you all have a great day having a little more fun than you normally would any other day of the week. ;)

I promised myself I would post my Halloween manis in a timely manner so that I wouldn't have to post them all at once on Halloween. But guess what happened?! And I am such a perfectionist that it would really bother me to post a Halloween mani after Halloween. haha

So here is some spam of my recent Halloween manis for you to enjoy on Halloween! :P

First up is China Glaze Zombie Zest and Hit Polish Halloween with  China Glaze It's Alive (LOVE this glitter!) as accent nails.

This is an ombre look from black to white with CND Violet Shimmer on top to sort of tie in the ombre. I topped that off with Hocus Pocus from F4 Polish.

Next up is Zoya Sienna (a totally amazing glass flecked orange!) with Daring Digits Trick or Treat on top. This is definitely a top favorite of this bunch! I love this combo!

And here is Sincerest Pumpkin Patch from Sonoma Nail Art. This one is so fun! I layered this over a Sweet Polish from Born Pretty.

And finally, here is Spookly also from F4 Polish. I have a soft spot for these milky white based glitters. This is easy coats.

So there you have it! I may post one more today if I get the time, which is my current mani to celebrate Halloween. I have obviously been infatuated with indie glitters lately, so there wasn't much nail art to be had. If you haven't already checked out my 2011 Halloween Mani Roundup, there's more inspiration to be found *here* that includes more nail art!

Sonoma Nail Art: Here Lies Robert + Layering

Hey polish lovers!

More awesome Halloween indie polish today! I was lucky enough to snag a couple Sonoma Nail Art Halloween polishes a while back. I started with LCN Fanappleistic (weird name), 1 coat of Kleancolor Holo Green and then 1 coat of Here Lies Robert. I love how this turned out! And can I just say that the whole peel off base coat discovery is making me not so apprehensive to experiment with layering multiple glitters and I love the possibilities!

A pic in direct sunlight to show of the holo glitter...love!

Check out the awesome label too!

So as far as I know, this isn't available anymore since it's seasonal. I hate to tease you guys like that! But definitely check out the Sonoma Nail Art Facebook page to stay updated because Michelle's polishes you don't want to miss out on!

Halloween Jamberry Nail Shield Review

Hey everyone!

I have another set of Jamberry Nail Shields to show you today and these ones are Halloween themed!

Below is a collage of pics showing the instructions that come with each set of stickers, how the stickers come on a sheet, and the cute envelope that they are mailed in.

You can see that each sheet comes with 18 stickers but you may not be able to tell that they are pretty large. Once you have one fitted to your nail, you will probably have about half of the sticker leftover that you can cut off and use again (if you don't have crazy long nails).  These can also be used for a pedi...the largest sticker is pretty wide.

Another note about the instructions: They say to peel off the sticker and then use a blow dryer to warm it up. But I found it MUCH easier to do it the other way around. Heat up the sticker while it's still on the sheet and then peel it off to apply. Doing it this way is less harsh on your fingers and rather than holding a little sticker up to the hair dryer, holding the entire sheet allows you to hold it longer to ensure you are heating the sticker up evenly.

So here is the Halloween design I am sharing with you today! Very cute!

This was only my 2nd time applying these, so they aren't perfect. But I have 2 more designs to show you in the coming week so by then I may have more tips and tricks to share.

Do you guys like this Halloween design from Jamberry?

You can buy Jamberry Nails here!

*This product was sent to me for review in exchange for my honest opinions.

I didn't list everything used but if there is anything you are wondering about, just leave a comment! :)

And for you crafty ladies out there, here is the wreath I made last year and really love how it turned out:

Hopefully you guys got some inspiration! I am excited to come up with more holiday nail art this year and see what you guys come up with. :)

China Glaze Skyscraper

Hi readers! Today's mani is the beginning of some Halloween looks I have to show you over the next few days! The base for this is China Glaze Skyscraper. I got this back in August and am just now paying attention to it..perhaps because I was waiting for it to feel like fall outside to use fall colors.

Anyway, this is a gorgeous navy blue jelly base with silver glitter throughout. It almost looks indigo in low lighting. I swear, I haven't seen swatches online that do this baby justice (including mine)! You really just have to see it in person.

Nail art inspiration comes from Nails in Nippon. She has tons of fun Halloween tutorials for nail art! Her version of this is freehand, but we went with stamping for the house instead. I like this, but her version is much better! Zoya Pippa is the moon, and Konad Black stamping polish is the house.

Keep your eyes peeled for more Halloween themed manis from me! <3
