Layla Hologram Effect Ocean Rush

Happy Friday!

I'm keeping it simple today with a swatch from the Layla Hologram Effect line. This is Ocean Rush, a true blue shade with an amazing holo effect!

Do you own any of the Lalya Hologram polishes?

My New Year's Mani!

Happy New Year to you all!

I hope you had a fun night ringing it in! I had so much fun coming up with what I would wear on my nails for New Year's Eve. I didn't use any untrieds and I didn't have to do any swatching- I just decided to enjoy what I already had in my stash. I don't do that enough...there are always so many enticing new polishes coming out but it was sort of refreshing. ;)

So I had probably 15 different polishes that I wanted to use but realized that wouldn't be very practical so I settled on 4. :) I knew I wanted a ton of bling, so I didn't hold back on the glitter! Not that I usually do anyway, but I was definitely glad for the peel off base coat for this one. haha I used the flash to bring the holo out...it's been a dark and dreary few days around my area so no sunlight, unfortunately.

What I used: Sinful Colors Black on Black, Layla Hologram in Flash Black, Sally Hansen Xtreme Wear In the Spotlight, and Essence Hello Holo. Dustin did some stamping with the Layla Holo but it's sort of subtle. I actually think it adds a fun detail to the overall look though.

I used a coat of Gelous before my normal topcoat and it smoothed this out perfectly, especially for how much glitter I had going on!

I don't normally go so crazy on the glitter and bling, but I have to say, I love it! I am such a typical girl. ;)

What are your thoughts on this mani? Perfect for NYE or too much glitter?

Happy "Holo"-ween!

Hello again!

I have the actual mani I am sporting for Halloween to show you tonight! I used Layla Hologram Effect in Flash Black with China GLaze GR8 as an accent. Dustin did some fun stamping too. I loved how it turned out!

Hope you all have a fun night! I will be posting some pics maybe tomorrow of my Halloween festivities!

Layla Magneffects Polish in Metallic Sky

Hi! How's it going today? I had a nice nap, and brownies just came out of the oven...life is good! :)

Today's polish is a first for my blog. A magnetic polish! I got this from Aveyou.com. It's retail price is $15/bottle and I could never justify that much for one bottle, but I got this with the deal 8moms.com had a while ago so that was justified!

Magnetic polishes are supposedly the "next big thing". I have even heard it called the next crackle. I have seens ads in various magazines for them, and last month Vogue had an article dedicated to magnetic polish. Could this mean more affordable versions in the future?

This shade is called Metallic Sky. Pretty right? I was mesmerized by this the 2 days I had it on. The magnetic effect is stunning!

Just for reference, here is the magnet on top of the lid. The direction the line on the magnet is facing is the way the lines will go on the nail. I got polish on mine and I have read not to use remover on the magnet because it could ruin it.

I hope to have more colors of magnetic polish in the future. Crackle wasn't a trend I was into, but magnetic polish I can handle! How about you? Have you tried magnetic polish yet?
