Hit Polish Minty Fresh + Nail Art

Hello!

Today's post is a super pretty polish from a long time favorite indie shop of mine, Hit Polish. This one is called Minty Fresh. The formula was fantastic. I'm pretty sure this is 2 coats. I only wish that there was a little more glitter that came out on the brush so that it looked more like the bottle on my nail...but that's just me being picky. ;) I picked this up quite a while ago and I'm not sure that it's available currently. Rachel usually will bring back older polishes for a while so it may show up again!

Loooveeee.

I was feeling ambitious with my nail art skills one night so I decided to add to this mani with some scotch tape, OPI Fly and rhinestones. I was pretty happy with how it turned out. Other than the fact that my top coat kind of messed with the rhinestone's bling factor.

There are always so many new polishes to check out in Rachel's shop and she mostly sells minis at good prices and with an occasional sale here and there you can really go crazy without putting too much of a dent in your wallet. ;)

Are you loving Minty Fresh as much as I am?

Nabi Holo Dark Purple + Nail Art

Good morning!

There was recently some buzz in a polish group I am in about these holo polishes from Nabi. I was able to get 6 for about $20 with free shipping on Ebay. Good deal, I think! While these aren't linear, they are super sparkly and definitely shine in the sunlight.

This is Dark Purple in indirect sunlight. Second photo is with flash.

To add a little something to this mani, I scotch taped off the corners and painted China Glaze Sweet Hook with Sation Fake It Till You Make It on top. Love this glitter topper!

If you want to get your hands on some of these Nabi holos *here* is the link to the eBay seller I got mine from. There are other options to get more or less polishes in different listings.

What do you think of this holo from Nabi?

Laser Nail Art

Hey readers!

It's been a while...again. Between packing orders for You Mix and my sister is getting married next weekend, things have been very busy around here!

My nails are still trying to even out after a few bad breaks, so they aren't looking very perfect in these pics. I had this mani on about a week ago, so I can't remember what pink I used! I know that's terrible. The base is China Glaze Kalahari Kiss and the blue, OPI Fly. The "lasers" were done with striping tape.

It's been a while since I had any funky nail art, so I enjoyed this mani while it lasted (of course I couldn't stand the same mani for longer than 2 days). haha

Born Pretty Shimmer Polish Scotch Tape Mani

Hey guys!

I hope you are having a wonderful weekend...the weather is gorgeous today so we took little Taylee to the park and she loved every minute of it!

My manicure today is a scotch tape mani using polishes from Born Pretty Store. I have shown some of these to you before, *here* is where you can see more swatches. I love the finish of these...it's sort of a mix of glitter and shimmer, and it takes almost 1 coat for full coverage. I used Glitter Blue Shimmer and Navy Blue Shimmer (this looks a lot different on the site than in person) to create this look.

I love how the finish just makes the whole design look uniform! A tip my husband came up with a while back when doing scotch tape manis: I use label stickers instead of tape because it's less likely to ruin the polish underneath. To get the perfect crisp line without having to try to push the sticker down too much is to dab a piece of cotton with a little acetone on it onto the edge of the label. It seals it down and it won't mess up your polish if you use a light hand. This way your other color doesn't bleed underneath the tape!

Also, a quick You Mix update, we do have black and white glitter in bar and hex forms back in stock!

Thanks for reading!

Festive Christmas Nails

You guys! I'm back!! I have missed blogging so much. My husband and I moved this past week and that was just insane and my nails took a beating. I can't promise a post daily because we are now celebrating the season with family, but I am definitely back! :)

So the nail look I am showing you today is a scotch tape mani. The base is Orly Luxe, with alternating China Glaze Glittering Garland and Poinsettia. China Glaze Twinkle Lights is the accent fingers.

Hopefully I can fit a few more Christmas manis in before it's over!

Also as a note, our You Mix site is down while we are on holiday. Any orders will ship after the new year. :)

Hard Candy Breakup Part II

Hey everyone! I think this is a record for me posting this late in the day. We took more family pics today, only this time with my parents and siblings. We went to the Opryland Hotel to take them and had a good time! I hope you readers had a good Saturday as well!

So in my previous post  reviewing Breakup, I said I wasn't gonna do a full mani with it but I lied! I couldn't resist the matte white/glitter combo. So here is what we ended up with (this is before matte topcoat):

Color used- Sinful Colors Snow Me White, Color Club Bubble Gum Yum and Hard Candy Breakup
Dustin worked his magic and used scotch tape for the french tip.

And here it is matte:

What do you ladies think? Simple, but fun right? And I am so happy with how the matte looks!

Also, just as an FYI- you can now follow me on Twitter @mynailgraffiti. I use it predominantly to post about giveaways, but I am trying to branch out a little more.

AND I recently added an option to subscribe by email in the right sidebar.

It think that's it! Have a great night! <3

Scotch Tape Stripes

Hello! Just a quick post today...not a whole lot to say about this mani. I really like the way it turned out though! I used Sally Hansen Extreme Wear in White On as my base. Slapped a piece of tape in the middle and used Kleancolor Holo Yellow and Pink to make the stripes. Easy peasy!

Here's a quick how to. I used masking tape because I found it easier to work with...but I will still call it a scotch tape mani. :P

I will be announcing my giveaway winner tomorrow...I apologize for the delay!

Zoya Mira

Hi ya'll! Here is a polish I have shown you multiple times (here and here)...Zoya Mira. But somehow I still haven't gotten a plain swatch! I just got it in their recent BOGO offer, and the formula seems like it's already thickening up a bit. This is a one coat polish, so that could be why!

I decided that I really need to be better about taking my pics as soon as I finish a mani so that tip wear is not an issue...and using a top coat would probably help (I finally broke down and ordered more Seche Vite...I can't use anything else after using this!).

I did a simple scotch tape embellishment to this look using China Glaze IDK. I wish that I would have had the patience to do all my fingers, but unfortunately not.

I am wondering: What polishes have you bought recently? I am looking for some inspiration! :)

PS. I don't know how I got 2 watermarks on that last photo. haha

Zoya Rica

Hey polish lovers! Today I am wearing Rica from Zoya's Sunshine Collection. I got the entire collection during the BOGO promo and haven't done a whole lot with them since. But I have fallen in love with them all over again! Maybe because I am finally seeing sunshine and warmth in my corner of the world!
Rica is a gorgeous peachy pink with TONS of golden shimmer.

I was inspired by the sunshine and gold shimmer (a recurring element in the Sunshine collection). So I used scotch tape to section off my nails and filled in the area with Orly Luxe. PERFECT combo! :)

Finally, we stamped a sun in Konad Black from Bundle Monster plate BM01.

Finally a mani to get excited about (at least for me)! :P Enjoy the rest of your Sunday everyone!

Multicolor Scotch Tape Manicure

Hi polish lovers! I hope everyone is having a great Friday...it has been snowy and cold today where I live and it's almost May! Pathetic! haha

Anyway...here is the design Dustin came up with recently:

I'm calling it a scotch tape mani, but we really used striping tape. It's easier to ensure even lines that way!
I love how this turned out and I love this color combo!

Here's what we used:
Sinful Colors 24/7, NOPI My Lifesaver, and Claire's Tiger Lily, Pure Ice Busted

Doing these types of looks are always suspenseful because you never know if it's all going to look good until you peel the tape off! :P

Have a great weekend for me...my little town has nothing to do so I am sure whatever ya'll are doing is going to be a LOT more exciting! :)

Zoya Breezi Scotch Tape Mani

Hey polish lovers! I FINALLY got Taylee down for a nap so it's time for a post!
Dustin was out of town half of last week so I was left to my own devices when it came to doing my nails...thus the lack of creativity! :P I managed to do an ok job on a scotch tape mani. The base is Zoya Breezi. It's part of their Summertime collection. This color was a lot darker than I thought it would be, but I still love me some Zoya!

China Glaze DV8 was a perfect holo twin for Breezi. I used scotch tape to make the stripes. They are uneven because of that...it was only when I was done that I remembered that I have striping tape that would have made them all uniform! Oh well...I can try that another time. DV8 is really pretty but I messed up the whole presentation of it's holo-y goodness by putting a top coat on. Normally I know better, but I wanted to smooth the lines from the tape.

That's all I have today...another Pink Wednesday tomorrow! :)

Scotch Tape Mani

I had oral surgery yesterday so today has been a lazy day...perfect to stalk eBay for nail polish! I won a few Kleancolors for a good deal...a little something for my discomfort. haha
I, along with lots of others, took this idea from Chloe's Nails. I didn't realize that I had done this look exactly like one of hers until I looked back on her post! Oh well...

I used Zoya Mira for the base...I am so sad I didn't get a pic of it alone because it's GORGEOUS! Sometimes I wish I could restrain myself; not stamp or anything, but I just can't help it...so Mira got China Glaze IDK and ELF black layered on top. This was fun to do, but even with the help of Seche Vite, it took forever!

Loving the holo!!

Pink Wednesday tomorrow!
