Born Pretty Neon Studs Review + My 600th Post!!

Hey guys!

This is my 600th post on this blog! That's pretty crazy, right?! I hope to have many more to come. :)

I mentioned in yesterday's post I have more Born Pretty Store items to share, so here's another review this time for neon studs! I think these are pretty cute and the size is just right...not too big or too small. Very easy to pick up and work with. And you can't go wrong with neon! I love that it's so popular everywhere...I don't see myself getting tired of it anytime soon. ;)

These studs were an extremely easy way to jazz up an otherwise plan mani. I placed them in a half moon shape over a still wet coat of NYX Salon Formula in Acid Pink (almost a one coat polish!). I know they seem small and annoying to deal with but trust me, they really aren't and I finished both hands in record time.

Zoya Crystal + NYX Beige Glitter

Zoya Crystal is one of those polishes I always looked at but never bought. I knew it was one of the more well known shades but I never felt like I needed it. So when I saw it for sale for $4 in a blog sale, I decided it was a good time to try it. Zoya is one of my favorite nail polish brands but I have a hard time with $8/bottle! I am glad I got it though because it is a special polish. I used NYX Beige Glitter as an accent nail and I like how the gold flecks in the different polishes compliment each other. 

I think Zoya should make more of this type of finish because it's definitely one of a kind!

NYX Acid Pink with Sponging

You guys! It's been so long since I have blogged! Moving is such a drawn out process! I am happy to say that we are slowly getting back on track enough for me to get back on a regular posting schedule. :)

This post is simple, but I figured that was the best way to find my blogging groove again. I recently made a Cherry Culture haul that you will be seeing more of in the future. 

Today I am showing you NYX Advanced Salon Formula in Acid Pink. I really like this line of polish. There are some unique shades as well as more simple colors that all have a great formula. Acid Pink is a super bright hot pink with some bluish shimmer. Dustin sponged white at the tips and I layered Sinful Colors Pinky Glitter over the top to make the look cohesive.

I really liked this look. It was a fun twist on a french mani that was more "me".

NYX Soft Teal + Springtime Dots

Hi everyone!

Today's post is short and sweet. I am sharing with you some nail art that is another idea from Pinterest. I love all the inspiration from there!

This is a really easy and quick mani. All you need is dotting tools and a few different colors. I chose NYX Soft Teal as the base, with Sinful Colors Unicorn and Wet n Wild Dreamy Poppy for the dots.

This is a favorite color combo of mine, but I say that a lot...I just LOVE color in general! ;) Pin It

All That Glitters Very Peacock- ish

Hello everybody! 

Today I am showing you a swatch of a polish from Etsy seller All That Glitters. I was lucky enough to get in on most of the crazy popular Etsy sellers polish before they really exploded...but there are now more cropping up lately that I am having a harder time getting my hands on. :(

Anyway, this is Very Peacock-ish. To me, this is reminded me more of a mermaid, but this is only one coat. I have been hesitant to do more than that with glitters because I hate removal, but I think with this one I should have sucked it up and done it justice with a few more coats!

I used a coat of NYX Soft Teal as underwear even though this polish has a sheer blue base. Also, this polish has the bigger glitters that you have to work harder to place, but it's not that big of a deal.

Revlon Colorstay Rainforest + NYX Gilded Glitter

Hi everyone!

I guess it's about that time to be posting some green manicures since St. Patricks Day is upon us. I love wearing greens so this shouldn't be too hard. So for my first St Patrick's Day look, I used Revlon Colorstay polish in Rainforest. I love this green and the fleck shimmer/glitter had me sold!

I thought that NYX Gilded Glitter would be the perfect compliment to Rainforest and I was not dissapointed! If I knew any better I would get a backup bottle of Gilded Glitter. It's a go to layering polish for me that looks great over just about anything!

OPI Thanks a Windmillion + Nail Art

Hi everyone! It's almost Friday and I can't wait!! I have also been having some pain when I move one of my eyes and I am thinking it's eyestrain or that I need a different prescription for that eye? Have any of you experienced this? I go to the eye doctor Saturday morning, but it's so annoying to deal with!

Anyway...on to what you are really here for...the nails! My base polish for today's look is OPI Thanks a Windmillion, a dusty mint creme. I love mint, so I love this! This is was 2 coats, but it almost covered in one.

So I may have gotten carried away with this nail art. haha I had a look in mind, but I feel like the pearls might have taken over. I do like the pink and mint color combo, but I ended up doing only one hand because I didn't want my nails to look ridiculous. haha Maybe it's because my nails are short? I dunno. 

The glitter is NYX Girls Dreamy Glitter. Most of the stars placed themselves pretty well, but I did use tweezers to place a few more on each nail.

  

Part of me likes this and part of me doesn't. What do YOU think?  :)

Banana Republic Plum Pudding

Long time no blog! I have been having too much fun with my family! :)

Today's polish is one I received for Christmas from my dad. It's from Banana Republic. I didn't even know Banana Republic had nail polish, but they are surprisingly good quality.

This one is called Plum Pudding, and it's two coats. I topped it with NYX Gilded Glitter and the ring finger is Color Club Gingerbread. This still has a holiday vibe, but doesn't just scream it. And the NYX flakie=LOVE!

Have any of you tried polish from Banana Republic?

NYX Advanced Salon Formula Polish Swatches

Hi again! I have some NYX polishes to show you tonight...they are amazing! This new line has 144 polishes to choose from...can't wait to try more out. :)

First up, is Soft Teal. I know that there are tons of variations of this out there, but out of the 320 polishes I own (just counted the other day!) I don't have this exact one. haha Anyway, this is 2 coats and very shiny...no topcoat here!

I am always doing "loud" nail designs, so this subtle stamping with Kleancolor Pastel Teal was a welcome change.  

Next is Moonwalk. Gorgeous! Just from pics, this seems very similar to a polish in Orly's upcoming winter collection, Androgynie. Moonwalk has a sheer black jelly base, so here it's layered over black to minimize coats. LOVE. 

Here is Forever Young. I know I keep saying how much I love these colors...but this one is a winner too! It's a rosy jelly base with gold FLAKIES mixed in! I mean seriously, does it get any better? I think not. 

And if you just can't get enough gold flakies in your life, here is Gold Glitter, a gold flakie topcoat! Below it's on it's own with a ton of coats, and I don't recommend it this way. But you get the idea.

So Zoya Valerie comes into play...

...and a perfect layering combo is born! I really want to wear this again I like it so much. Gold flakies make anything better right? haha

Also, just for fun, here is the wreath I made for our door for Halloween. I like making wreaths almost as much as I like polish. Almost. :)
