Jordana Playful Pastels Nail Art

*press sample*

It may seem a little out of place, but I have seen in multiple fashion magazines that pastel clothes and makeup are on trend for fall! So, when Jordana released a collection of pastels recently, I wasn't too thrown off! haha Instead of the traditional swatches, I decided this collection was begging to be used for nail art! I used all 6 shades for this look.

I used Whimsical White for the base. I used nail vinyls from Neverland Lacquers to section off my nails. Pastels from thumb to pinky: Sunsational, Pink Petunia, Baby Blue, Lively Lilac, and Merry Mint.

I then added the cutest water decals along the border of the two colors. I love water decals so much! You get such a detailed effect with minimal effort. So many people asked me if this mani was Jamberry nail wraps. haha

You can find this pastel collection at jordanacosmetics.com. Great formula on all of these polishes!

*Here* is a link to Born Pretty's water decals, where mine are from. I don't see the this exact design available anymore but there are others similar. Use code AMG10 to get 10% off.

Sally Hansen Red Snapper + Leopard Stamping

*press sample*

Good evening, readers!

Hope everyone is wrapping up a good weekend. :)

I recently did a stamping mani after quite a while. I need to get some better stamping polish, I think! Any suggestions?

I used a new stamper and scraper from Born Pretty for this mani. Sally Hansen Triple Shine Red Snapper is my base, which I love. I also made a couple accent nails with China Glaze Fairy Dust.

I love the look of black and red together! Fun but a more simple mani.

You can find all of Born Pretty's stampers and scrapers *here*. They also have some new stamping plates that look gorgeous!

My code (AMG10) will get you 10% off too!

Black and Neon Nail Art

*press sample*

Hey guys!

I love the combo of black and neon that I see others use. On me, I'm not so sure but I was excited to try! I was inspired by these super cute studs I got from Born Pretty Store.

I used Zoya Storm as my base. The accent nail is randomly painted with neon shades. Then I layered striping tape with Zoya Storm on top. I used nail glue to attach the studs and then topped it off with topcoat. They stayed put very well!

Do you like the neon and black combo?

You can find these neon studs *here* at Born Pretty Store. My code (AMG10) will get you 10% off too!

Water Marble Water Decals

*press sample*

Born Pretty Store is my go to for all things nail art. They have a great selection of all kinds of fun embellishments, stickers, glitter, polish, and tools. One of my favorites are their water decals! They are so easy to use and relatively quick for the end result you get.

To use water decals, all you do is soak the design in water for maybe 10 seconds or so and it will slide off the paper in a super thin sheet. Simply place on dry polish, press down and finish with top coat.

I admit I'm terrible at the actual water marbling technique, so any sort of help (cheat) I can get, I'll take! haha This design reminds me of the look of a water marble and it's so cute!

This mani lasted as long as any other mani would for me, another plus with the water decals.

You can find this exact design as well as other styles *here*. Get an extra 10% off with my code just for you guys: AMG10.

Have you tried water decals before?

Water Marble Water Decals

*press sample*

Hi guys!

If you want to get the look of a water marble but don't like the mess and skill involved, these water decals are for you!

I have only used water decals once before but quickly fell in love with how easy they were to use to get intricate nail art. This was my first time using full nail water decals though and  these have a much better end result than any other nail strip I've tried.

This design is a chocolate brown, teal and mint water marble. I did a base of a coordinating polish to help mask any imperfections in my application but it turns out that wasn't necessary because these fit my super curved nails perfectly. I usually have gaps on the side of some nails when using other nail strips because they don't fit me well enough.

When wearing nail strips I usually have serious tip wear really fast, but these wore like iron and stayed put. Removal was a cinch too!

I would highly recommend these if you have lost all hope in using nail strips. I referenced this tutorial to get some application tips and was glad I did because I learned to apply my top coat before filing the excess strip off and that made a huge difference in getting a clean edge at the tips. Maybe this could work with other nail strips. Anyone tried it before?

These water decals are from Born Pretty and can be found *here* for less than $5, plus get 10% off with my code, AMG10.

What are your thoughts on water decals?

Born Pretty Store Feather Nail Polish Swatch and Review

Good afternoon!

If you are into glitter polish at all, then I think you will like this post! Born Pretty has their own take on the microbar glitter trend with 8 versions of the matte bar, some combined with metallic glitters. I haven't seen anything like these anywhere else yet and I think they are my favorites so far!

Lots of pics, so get comfy and enjoy!

As with most polishes Born Pretty carries, these are numbered not named. Also, they are numbered on the site for checkout purposes but come with different numbers on the bottles. For reference, I will use the numbers listed on their site.

#6 has pastel blue and white micro bars as well as small blue hex glitters. This is one coat over Sally Hansen Triple Shine Oyster Bar.

#3 has white microbars mixed with blue and purple holo hex glitters. This is one coat over Orly Frisky.

#1 has white and aqua microbars with light green holo metallic glitters. This is one coat over China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle.

#7 has white microbars and black hex glitters. This is one coat over LCN Some Like It Hot.

#5 has pink and white micro bars with pink, red and purple holo hex glitters. One coat over Sation Super Nail-tural Powers.

#2 is silver holo micro bars. One coat layered over Dr.'s Remedy Passion Purple.

#8 has purple and white micro bars with blue and purple holo hex glitters. This is one coat over Essie Dive Bar.

#4 has orange and white micro bars with red hex glitters. This is one coat over Wet n Wild Inkwell.

Fun collection, right?! The formula is really good for all of these. The glitter wasn't too sparse and spread pretty evenly. I can see these needing a bit of thinner over time, though.

You can find these glitters *here* for $4.99! Get an extra 10% off by using my code AMG10.

Tell me your favorites!

Born Pretty Store Glitter Gradient Set

*press sample*

Hi polish lovers!

I have always loved the look of glitter gradients, however executing them to perfection isn't always so easy. So I was super excited to find a bunch of these sets in different colors from Born Pretty Store.  Three 6ml bottles of coordinating glitters that have a fabulous end result!

The letters help you know the order these should be applied. I suppose you could also reverse the order for a different look as well. Bottle A goes on the full nail, Bottle B goes less than 1/2 way down, and Bottle C is just to the tips.

And here is the final look! I looove it.

I would totally wear this to a fancy holiday party...if I had one to go to. ;)

And here's a bonus look with another BPS product, star glitter stickers. I put these over Essie Dive Bar. I wish the stickers were a little thinner so they would lay flat and not peel up at the corners. But cute nonetheless!

You can find the glitter gradient sets *here* and the star stickers *here*. My code, AMG10, will get you another 10% off your order!

Are you loving the glitter gradient set as much as I am?

Lucky Charms Nails

*press sample*

Hi ladies!

Today's mani ended up looking St. Patrick's Day/Lucky Charms inspired but not on purpose! haha

I started with a base of Zoya Josie and added a couple coats of a milky rainbow glitter polish from Born Pretty Store. For my accent nail, I added 3 iridescent hearts that added even more to the Lucky Charms look...but I think it's cute! I really like these hearts and can't wait to come up with some more looks using them.

I can't find the exact glitter polish from Born Pretty, but there are a bunch of others on their site *here* to choose from. You can find the iridescent hearts *here*. My code, AMG10, will get you another 10% off your order!

I would love to hear what you think of this mani!

Flocking Powder: A My Nail Graffiti First!

*press sample*

Good morning!

I had my first experience with flocking powder recently. I know it's nothing new in the nail world, but I had never got around to trying it until now! It's definitely an unconventional way to do your nails and I think that's what makes it so fun. I kept it simple with a bright pink powder.

The powder pieces are so tiny that they stay really well and create just a thin fuzzy layer on the nail that doesn't get in the way of everyday tasks.

This is the set I used from Born Pretty Store. The application method is super easy and not as messy as it might seem. I applied a matching pink polish (Zoya Lara) one nail at a time uand quickly added bunches of the flocking powder with the tweezer tool that came in the set. Once the nail was covered really well, I used the small brush to lightly sweep away the excess onto a piece of paper. The powder only stuck to the wet polish and not my skin so clean up was really easy! Once I was all done, I dumped the excess powder on my paper back into the jar!

Have you guys ever tried flocking powder before?

China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle + Sephora by OPI Wild About Shimmer + Studs!

Hello!

I have a mani to show you today that I was so happy with the end result. It's pretty simple and easy to accomplish but is definitely not boring!

After reading a recent post from Glitter and Unicorns featuring China Glaze Too Yacht to Handle, I knew I needed to give it a chance from being trapped in my untried pile. I was drawn to the color enough to buy it despite bad reviews on the formula but I was very pleasantly surprised at how easily it applied!

I topped off TYTH with a coat of Sephora by OPI Wild About Shimmer. I got mine in the current 3 for $10 sale at Sephora. LOVE this shimmer...it doesn't mess with the base color which is awesome. And finally, I used some nail glue to attach these adorable gold heart studs to the base of my nail. So girly and cute...right up my alley!

Attached with nail glue and topped with 2 coats of topcoat, I have only lost one stud in 3 days!

I got these cute heart studs as part of a set from Born Pretty Store...they came with a variety of shapes and sizes in silver and gold. You can find them *here*. Get an extra 10% off with my code: AMG10!

Do you love these heart studs?

Fall Inspired Glequins

*press sample*

Hi polish friends!

It seems like fall is just around the corner with school starting back up and seeing Halloween decorations pop up in stores. In reality, where I live, it won't really be cooling down until October/November! Until then, this mani will be as close as I get to the fall season for a while. ;)

My base is Mai Tai from Nailtini, which I got in my Ipsy Glam bag for July. I then used red, orange, and champagne "glequins" from Born Pretty Store to frame my nails. I used my new favorite tool, the rhinestone grabber, to pick up the individual glitter and that was a lifesaver! My accent nail is Zoya Penny with a couple coats of Jordana Bronze Fest layered. If this mani doesn't scream fall, I don't know what does!

How about you? Ready for the fall season yet?

LA Girl Teal Dimension + Nail Stickers

Hi readers!

Are you all ready for a new week? I am optimistic that mine's gonna be good...let's hope so! ;)

For today's mani, I started with a base of Teal Dimension from the LA Girl 3D Effect line. I have said it before and I'll say it again...LOVE these polishes! Just look at the gorgeous teal color and the depth it has...super gorgeous.

A polish that pretty doesn't need to be messed with a whole lot! So I added some simple nail stickers from Born Pretty Store. These came on a large sticker sheet and can be trimmed to fit the nail however you want them to look. They weren't as sticky as I would have liked but as long as I pressed down hard and applied top coat immediately after they stayed put pretty well.

I like the metal look these have!

These stickers come in silver and gold and there are a variety of patterns to choose from. Find them on the Born Pretty site *here*! AMG10, my coupon code, gets you 10% off too!

Don't forget to enter my giveaway if you haven't already! There is a bottle from Bootie Babe up for grabs....you have one more day!

Essie Naughty Nautical with Nail Art!

*press sample*

Hello again!

Back to my regularly scheduled posting after my post earlier this morning (it's very exciting if you haven't seen it)! It's not often that Essie gets me very excited about their polish, but I did have to get a couple from the Naughty Nautical collection because they were super pretty. My base for this mani is it's namesake...I'm such a sucker for shimmer! Here is the look I came up with...I am really loving this:

This is my first time using caviar beads...I just dipped my still wet base color in a pot of the beads and it was done...very easy! I stamped a design from my Summer Cheeky plate set and placed some stud rhinestones on the middle of the flowers.

Like most of my nail art supplies, the caviar beads I used for this mani came from Born Pretty Store in this pretty set:

You can find it on their site *here*. AMG10, my coupon code, gets you 10% off too!

A Very Girly Milani Strawberry Shake!

*press sample*

Hey guys!

Today's mani I liked but didn't love. I'm not sure what didn't click to make it perfect but it's not terrible either! My base is Milani Strawberry Milkshake. I did an accent nail with Revlon Girly in 2 coats (had this since Christmas and am just now using it...what's wrong with me?!). The rest of this look was created using supplies from Born Pretty Store.

Rhinestone Grabber ( seems weird, but works really well and makes it easy and fast to use small embellishments!)

Rhinestone Studs (a mix of studs and rhinestones!)

Hello Kitty Stamping Plate (love how cute the images are!)

You can use my code AMG10 to get 10% off at Born Pretty, too.
