Layla Magneffects Polish in Metallic Sky

Hi! How's it going today? I had a nice nap, and brownies just came out of the oven...life is good! :)

Today's polish is a first for my blog. A magnetic polish! I got this from Aveyou.com. It's retail price is $15/bottle and I could never justify that much for one bottle, but I got this with the deal 8moms.com had a while ago so that was justified!

Magnetic polishes are supposedly the "next big thing". I have even heard it called the next crackle. I have seens ads in various magazines for them, and last month Vogue had an article dedicated to magnetic polish. Could this mean more affordable versions in the future?

This shade is called Metallic Sky. Pretty right? I was mesmerized by this the 2 days I had it on. The magnetic effect is stunning!

Just for reference, here is the magnet on top of the lid. The direction the line on the magnet is facing is the way the lines will go on the nail. I got polish on mine and I have read not to use remover on the magnet because it could ruin it.

I hope to have more colors of magnetic polish in the future. Crackle wasn't a trend I was into, but magnetic polish I can handle! How about you? Have you tried magnetic polish yet?

China Glaze CG in the City

Happy Saturday! I am enjoying some "me time" this morning. Baby is napping and husband is studying for a test. And I am chillin on the couch in my pj's with no plans to move anytime soon. haha Love it! :)

Today's polish is CG in the City from this fall's China Glaze Metro collection. This is super fine glitter in varying colors. This is 3 coats with a Claires light grey creme as underwear. This polish would also work well for layering in one coat. CG in the City reminds me of sparkling concrete.

With flash to show the sparkle:

Outdoors:

And then I added some Halloween nail art stickers sent to me by the lovely Thresa from Esther's Nail Center. This is definitely the most fool proof way to get some extra somethin somethin on your nails! And these stickers have some serious staying power. They don't budge once they have been put on. I wish I didn't have to use the flash to take this pic, but you get the idea.

That's all for today! Thank you for reading. :)

*Stickers sent to me for review and use.

OPI Lincoln Park After Dark Matte Suede + Nail Art

Hello! I was just about to post this morning and then an area wide internet outage happened...sooo here I am now. :)

The polish I am showing you today is OPI Lincoln Park After Dark matte suede. I don't normally go for matte polish, but for some  reason it really caught my attention. I also got You Don't Know Jacques and Ink matte suede but haven't tried them yet.

This is 2 coats with flash. Pretty right?

And outdoors:

And here it is with a glossy topcoat. I can't decide which version I like better!

For nail art, these images come from Born Pretty plates. Stamped in Konad white and grey. You can never go wrong with bows!

How many of you have this polish? Do you like it better matte or shiny?

China Glaze It's Alive + Nail Art

Hey guys!

I am showing you China Glaze It's Alive! today. I love love love this polish. This is probably my number one polish from any Halloween collections this year. Is that too bold of a statement? :)

This polish is a moss green jelly with moss green multi sized glitters throughout. I think I would wear this other times besides Halloween...I mean we all love the seasonal polishes, but how often do they really get used? So that's a definite plus to me!

So this nail art turned out to be unintentionally inspired by Kermit the Frog! And ironically, none of the Muppet polishes were used for this. ;)

See what I mean? haha I love this look so much though....this is China Glaze L8R G8R added and scotch tape was used to make the design. Holo makes everything better!

That's it for now! Be sure to check out Dustin's Winter Franken collection if you haven't already...they are amazing! :)

Husband's Winter Frankens are HERE!!

Hi everyone! I know I promised this post yesterday...but I fell out of my blogging groove after only having scheduled posts this weekend and not writing everyday. But I am back and this post is long, but hopefully you keep reading because it's totally worth it!!

Dustin has been working hard on perfecting these and is probably more excited than I am about this post! He loves getting feedback besides from me. :)  FYI: this collection is subdivided into 2 themes: Gold and Ice. First up is the Gold half!

This is Evergold. I have a soft spot for greens, and I LOVE this one! Multi size gold, green, and blue glitters in a green jelly base. This is 3 coats.

This is one coat swatched on a nail wheel:

Next, is Five Golden Rings. This has 10 different types of gold glitters and micro flakies in it! This is 3 coats. Fun gold for the holidays!

Here is Golden Rainbow. This has mixture of different colored holo glitters and micro flakes.

One coat swatched on a nail wheel:

Gleaming Red has multiple sizes of red and gold glitters with micro flakes in a red jelly base.

This is one coat swatched:

And now for the Ice half! The layering possibilities are endless with these so we are showing them over a basic black (except for the first one)  and white so you can get a general idea of what they are like.

This is Snow Day. Multi sized iridescent glitters in a milky white base. This one is a fave of mine!

This is Black Ice. Iridescent glitters, multi sized black and holo glitters in a clear base.

Next is Jack Frost. Iridescent glitters with color shifting chameleon pigment. I love this!

Permafrost. Same as above only with different colors in the color shifting pigment.

China Glaze Midtown Magic + Nail Art

Hello! Another quick, scheduled post! :)

This is Midtown Magic from the China Glaze Metro collection. This was a tough one to capture in pics because it's so dark. IRL it's is a deep plum base with golden fleck shimmer throughout. I know it looks kinda brown here. Very pretty, and fall appropriate.

This stamp is in the newer set of Bundle Monster plates and I never noticed it until recently! It's hiding in the corner on one of the plates. On top is Wet N Wild The Gold and the Beautiful. I love this look? How about you?

Have a good day!
